Great pistol! I bought mine in August 2018 and it came with 2 stainless 8 round mags. Colt went to 1 mag in Nov. 2018. I love this pistol and would recommend it to anyone!
Bought mine 4 months ago because it was a Colt and available. Pricy but so worth it. At 15 yds offhand it is a tack driver…factory or reloads it groups phenomenally. Fired 100 reloads and not one FTF or FTE. So happy I bought it…a welcome addition to my original 1911 series 70 purchased in early 70s. If you see one for sale, buy it! You won’t regret it!
in my opinion colt is just over priced your just paying for the name . you could just buy a cheap rock island 1911 for like half the price works exactly the same
I love the 1911 Colt competition 9mm, it's a great gun, I've got 2 other Colt 1911's. Every manufacturer has their quirks, don't like the poly mainspring housing & the sights need help. Love it anyway, the Dan Wesson 1911's rival the quality of Colt & really are better in some ways. I do like that the Colts will take a variety of ammo, a Big Plus!!
I picked mine up on the 30th of november/2022. it is the blued one. took out the mag at ffl who did the paper work and I pressed the mag release button and mag came out. went to put mag back in and would not go in unless I pressed the release button. called colt and I'm still waiting for new mag he said to try. if that did not work I would have to send it in and could be a month and a half before getting it back. you said ready for competition right out of the box. glad you got a good one. quality has left colt's assembly personnel pride
awesome gun dude... thanks for the vid. my dealer in Germany has the competition model and a ss gold cup trophy elite in stock. can't decide which one to get. the gold cup is a freakin 1000 euros more !!! they are both so nice and so rare in Europe . could get a bear for that price....but I am a colt guy. so if restrictions in Germany wouldn't be so damm hard I´d get both of em colts
Go Vols, I got me one bout a year ago. Not fired it yet, worried about taking it apart & cleaning/ putting it back together. I’ve heard about the idiot mark & knowing me…. Hate to do it. My best friend was going to show/walk me through it, got cancer treated , Dr said he was cured, had 2 different types of cancer come up elsewhere & passed before we ever shot it. 😢 just been putting it off ever since. Great video, really enjoyed it, many thanks ❤

I bought one whenever they first came out! Not a single problem with it ever. Only upgrade I did was replace the mainspring housing. Didn’t want the plastic. Only thing I didn’t love about it. But easy replacement an fairly cheap.

Colt was not the only one you got Springfield a respectable company as well. They Also make excellent 1911 out of the box.

Sorry you had a bad experience with yours. Mine has functioned flawlessly. Maybe now that CZ owns Colt, the quality will improve.
