I have about 4 books the best buy being Diary of an Edwardian Lady which I spotted for $2 in a Caloundra op shop. I've just bought The Country Diary Collection which is a lovely selection of cross-stitch. I did a lot of cross-stitch years ago including two wedding samplers which had beading added. One for my daughter and another for my friends daughter. I don't know whether I could stitch on 22ct or 26ct linen now as it's so fine. I might try for an Edith journal though. lol
Loved looking through your books with you Corrine, such wonderful ideas too, just an idea for the cover,if I was a botanist of that era out in a field,I would love a faux leather decorated cover, kept simple, maybe flowers or a bird on the front, with a tiny specimen attached to a gorgeous vintage dyed wrap around fabric strip....can't wait to see what you do,thank you for sharing a wonderful journey yet to unfold..xx
The copyright on your Country Diary mentions 7 Editions,. The one I bought says June 1977, and only mentions Second impression. Does that mean my copy is 2nd edition? I really don't know how to read these copyrights. I can't bring myself to take mine apart and am buying a second copy for my junk journaling. Happy Crafting!! Thanks for all your videos.
Another lovely idea for a series ... I've been hoarding 'Edith' books for a few years too, so I look forward to seeing what you do this month ... and you're right, there are so many gorgeous 'nature' books out there, it's impossible to say 'no' sometimes, lol.
You’re right about Rowena. I lived next door to her for years in Bradford on Avon. She went to art school with my ex husband’s sister. Lovely lady. Gentle soul but a sound business woman.
Wouldn it be lovely if they agreed to Ediths images being made into scrapbook papers. I thought i saw a collection from UK but couldn't find it again. If anyone know please please tell me as i hate cutting up books
What a beautiful idea, to celebrate the life of one talented lady. Just love it ,I’m in !,
Thank you lm really loving this.
My mother was my mentor and teacher of all things crafty. Her cross stitch was just as neat and tidy on back as the front.
Wow.. sounds like my Grandmother’s work!
Thank you for starting this series.
Absolutely loved it.
You are welcome… I’m nervous.. cutting into a Edith book!! Oh boy! Hang on for the ride!

I started out in cross stitch. I love it. Those cross stitch patterns were amazing. That is definitely a book I'll be looking for. TFS

My rule is.. if I don’t know don’t do it. The family is still printing so I would say no.

Great idea - love the books! I'm in
Lovely collection. It was Tracie Fox who used the 'England is a Garden' book to make tags I believe.
