Just for the sake of being thorough, there is another build possible. It's a glass cannon build of the Alatreon Bow with Silver Rathalos. I thought it did not go well with these other bow sets because you would only use them in a speedrun or high skill/high risk setting, which is not the majority of hunters. This option may seem viable, but it is significantly weaker than any of the sets shown. The sets with 3 Safi + 2 Alatreon + Critical Element Bow will outclass 3 Silver + 2 Alatron + Safi Bow (Silver Essence) every time. The stats on the Safi bows just can't compare now.

@@tinytenor5414 I'm using a meme build at the moment lol 2 piece velkhanna , 2 piece namielle , ishvalda hands,and safi with all element slots besides one for coatings and then a element augment slot with one def. It's been pretty dope only downside is it's alittle glass cannon. That's the fun of it though
Glad you're enjoying the build. 😊 Defense boost for the elemental boost is NOT worth it. I tested it with a build that had Defense boost 6, and it made absolutely NO difference in damage, even with the +10 in element. (Like from 910 to 920). The game rounds down.
You must eat 6 vegetables (3rd tab) in order to obtain Element Res (L). Within the vegetables tab, 4 of the vegetables must be from Vigor (3rd row) for Blackbelt and 2 of the vegetables must be from Artillery (5th row) for Sharpshooter. Hope this helps.
I don't know if there is a best build. The Safi/Alatreon build I showed seems to be the most effective for now. Silver Rathalos with Alatreon bow can be the highest DPS, but you would have to sacrifice quite a bit of survivability for not so much damage gain.

@@jonathanFS93 In short, not worth it. The element increase from hard resist jewels is so minimal that what you have to give up would make you weaker overall. A Furor+ 4 jewel or even more Constitution would be more beneficial to your DPS. Also, the elemental resistances only go so far for survivability. Many monsters in Iceborne deal so much raw damage that they can kill you within 2-3 hits without healing yourself, regardless of elemental resistances.
How can you get 50% affinity when the bow is drawn? I guess 20% is from safijiva seal, 5% crib eye, and 5% from attack lvl 4. So how can you explain the rest 20%? EDIT: +10% from the augmentation, so the rest of 10% where do you get that from?
It depends on which elemental bow you're referring to. Fire and thunder innately has 15% affinity, so you only need 2 critical eye and no affinity augment. Water, Ice, and Dragon have 10% affinity innately and all need affinity augment and 1 critical eye. Just look at the individual builds. I show the skills and decorations for each one.

Maybe there's a part missing for you. Did you: -Eat for Element Res Up (L) -Equip Ice Attack 6 -Draw weapon to activate Safi bonus -Augment for Element 2 times -Custom Mod for Element 7 times
After a couple minutes comparing my build to tiny tenor, i finally discovered 2 things: 1- I'm stupid 2- Whith the weapon drawn, you gain 20% affinity + 80 element from safi jiva's set bonus. And i didn't noticed that because i was not with the weapon drawn.
It depends on the element and monster. For ice, fire, thunder, and water, critical element & Safi/Alatreon is better. For Dragon, Silver Rathalos is better (Alatreon Bow).

For the Alatreon bow, I'm using two pieces Velkhana and two pieces Alatreon and getting pretty similar numbers. Once I've got the mantle on, I'm still hitting the cap at like 980, so I'm not sure going full Silver Rath really does much for that build. It's a lot easier to build a Velk/Alatreon set IMO.
Yes, build for whatever you have available in the game. It's a journey. This build is catered towards the end-game content, where hunters have access to all the resources available. The Alatreon Bow (Silver Rathalos) build has some survivability to make it more appealing and easy to use for the majority of hunters. Yes, it does require 3 Expert+ 4 decorations. If you're going for numbers, check out my video on the Glass Cannon version of the Alatreon Bow Build. I'm confident Velkhana/Alatreon won't be able to match the damage output. my bow hours is less than one im afraid of touching that weapon Q_Q and being useless in a team fight because of how bad i am but its always fun to watch.
Keep in mind, I used NO BUFFS in these demonstrations in the training room. That includes power charm and power talon. I didn’t use them in my item load out. Check if you have them in your loadout. 5 piece Safi WILL NOT beat 3 safi 2 alatreon. Otherwise, I would not make this video.

I hear you. Bow is just one of those weapons where you can never have EVERYTHING. One constitution and one stamina surge is the meta because there simply isn't room to have anymore without giving up damage. Velkhana's armor is pretty obsolete at this point due to critical element from Kjàrr bows, and Nami's set bonus is basically useless compared to Safi. Silver is only useful with an OP bow with insane stats, like Alatreon Commandment. But I would say Silver is less comfy than these sets because you have to give up health boost 3 for damage. I don't recommend defense boost in any set, even comfy sets because the benefits of do not make a difference when it comes to getting 2 shot. Bows will almost always die in 2-3 full powered hits. Evade window is also nice, even most attacks are able to be evaded with no evade window at all, just with tighter timing. If you want, you can get rid of Furor +4 jewel, slot in an Elemental +4 jewel, and then you can have divine blessing and one other level 1 utility jewel (Free meal maybe). And you're right, Tenderizer/Physique is pretty hard to come by. But the rest of the decos aren't too hard to find if you give it some time. I think 5 piece Safi needs even more rare decos than these sets. Safi's chip damage can be mitigated a little bit by having 1 health augment as opposed to all element augment. This will make the weakening attack do 0 chip damage with the bow, which is when it's hardest to get the Safi heal.

How do you eat for Black Belt, Sharpshooter, and Element Res (L)? I'm not getting any stat bonuses when I eat for Black Belt and Sharpshooter

I wouldn't worry about being useless. It's all about having fun. I started out my MHW days doing a pure Dragonpiercer build until I got to Kirin.
