As someone who started the game months ago and is a long sword main it's refreshing to try different weapons after 600+ hunts this guide is perfect bc i am learning the CB right now thank you for the guide good sir 🙏
I've never tried the Charged Blade ever since this game was released. After the game rose again its popularity in this year. Your video actually helped me playing CB as a beginner despite being in beyond level MR650 already. You definitely earned a sub! And you deserved way more for being the most detailed CB tutorial!
Such an excellent video. I started MHW with charge blade, but it was such a confusing weapon. This video finally sorted it out 😁 There is so much to learn about that weapon as one is all the time in a different states and that affects so heavily what can be done.
Thank you a lot for the kind words! I am super happy the video was helpful! It was also super confusing to me at the start, so I wanted to focus on the most confusing things for me personally 😊 If you have any more questions feel free to ask of course!
Honestly, the only thing that really grinds my gear when trying to master this weapon is the guard points. Such a strong mechanic, but I just keep end up using it in a reactive manner. Instead of weaving in and out of combos and switch form to get the guard points I wait to see if the monster would atk to use the guard point.
I’ve always played Hunting Horn, I wanted to learn something new but no other weapon had a system that felt engaging enough for me to truly enjoy it, I’m hoping charge blade feels similar to storing up all my tunes and dumping them into performances. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you brother ❤🎉
I started MH recently, and I tried charge axe first because the concept seemed cool af. Then I gave up because it was a little too complicated for me at the time (and I went to db instead). I am about to get into iceborn now, and I'm wanting to branch out and learn other weapons. Charge blade has always been in the back of my mind, and I have to say it's more intricate than I originally thought. It looks even more fun after watching this. I should have watched a video sooner ngl lol
there are also 3 more guardpoints in elemental roundslash( from charging sheild), sword spinning slash (from 3 light attacks), and sword sliding slash (from evade heavy attack). I feel like i use these the most since it's easy to reach and it allows me to be more aggressive with my positioning while also being safe. on a side note, the Dante's devil sword chargeblade has unique animations and your character glows red when there's a guardpoint
Very Interesting that you say you use those the most? You cannot really insta-react with them and have to basically anticipate moves and know the exact timing for those GPs to work out, that seems very odd to me. Morph Slash is by far the fastest and most accessible GP which is why I suggest it. Savage Axe Wind-up can be used in case you are in AED/SAED animation and you need to cancel it out because an attack is coming towards you and the unseathe GP is overall useful if you have your weapon sheathed obviously. The 3 GP you mentioned are the ones I never use since you dont use Ele. Roundslash a lot unless you would miss an SAED, spinning slash for me is usually an after-hop fast gapcloser and sliding slash takes imo a tad too long to execute which is why I stick to hoping.
@@HiImFox I mostly use them when im charging the phils and i know the monster is about to attack, so rather than dodge i just hold the guardpoint. I guess it's more of a safety net to overextend your attack rather than a reflexive block. elemental roundslash is like on the same boat where i would use it to charge my shield while also getting an extra hit and be safe with the guardpoint. unsheathe GP is definitely way faster but it's like a different usecase.
btw, im currently fighting nergigante in the main story line but i cant cut his tail no matter how much i concentrate on it. any tips? cuz i wanna craft the nergal lacerator.
You say you are late to this but with Asmon bringing in a NEW batch of hunters your newer video likely got some good traction. I have been hunting for years and I still love seeing new videos pop up!
Well better late thsn never ... 😅 As a casual charge blade main .. tks learned a lot😅 Also Zorah magdaros "no guard" needed ... Mm tell that to the barricades 😂😂😂
Is it possible for you to do the other weapons too? Been playing nothing but Insect glaive since 4U and never realy touched anything else until end game Iceborne, got all the jewels and armour but only a bow and glaive under my belt, been meaning to learn more to expand my weapon crate
Maybe in the (far) future! I want to feel 100% comfortable on a weapon before making such a video and currently I can only say that about the CB and maybe IG. But, who knows :)
2 reasons: 1) Health augment - if you are new to MH World, you unlock Health Augment as an Augment late into the game so you heal x amount of damage you deal 2) im am using the safijiva set which consumes health while you deal damage but once you reach a certain threshold of damage dealt you heal it all back + a certain extra amount
Sorry if it is out of nowhere, I just started learning Charge Blade and your video is helping me a lot, but do you mind sharing which layered armor you where using in the intro?
@@3ASY355 This is the author! next.nexusmods.com/profile/CUREDOSIN/about-me?gameId=2531 I just genuinely dont remember which one exactly it is your comment made me laugh LOL

@himynameisfox That sucks :[ its actually the thing that caught my attention to click on the video and watch. Sad that it isnt for everyone. Oh well, thanks for answering anyway.
Depends on which one you mean, one of them is just a normal basic CB with namielle decor (the more red/orange one) and the other one is something black eagle or so? I dont remember exactly, sorry!
TECHNICALLY kind off, but the problem is you will be playing both styles at a disadvantage. SAED often focuses on pure element while SAXE focuses more on raw damage. You can technically play RAW SAED but the damage is quite a lot lower. This is the only "solution" i would see. I do still advise against it and just having 2 sets at least to swap for whichever playstyle you feel like playing!
11:13 This is a bizzare take, why would I want to skip a bunch of the game's content because... I get to other content faster? I get like not grinding the endgame of HR but yeah still feels like an odd recommendation to make especially to a new player to skip a large portion of the game and let the Defender Gear be a crutch. Edit: Though the video was a great overview so thank you don't want it just be a negative comment!
It’s mostly for veterans who wants to get into master rank content without having to go through all the base game. Not sure about the previous MH games but they have it in rise as well
I understand the concerns with my suggestions, they are definitely valid. The reason I still suggest it is because LR/HR is pretty dead in terms of proper multiplayer. If you shoot an SOS flare, chances are a high level MR player is gonna come and just yeet the monster in less than a minute. This is why reaching MR quickly allows for a better MP experience. Monsters mostly stay the same anyway so there is not much youre missing out on! Of course, as I still mentioned, there are sets for LR/HR and if you want to take it slow, you absolutely should!
@@HiImFox Sure, but lots of people (the majority for sure) play this game solo or co-op. Plus they're still getting to the lategame stage anyway where the majority of hunts happen.
Axes are so fucked in these games. You can't just play with an axe, they are either skins or locked behind being One attack or behind the lesser form of a big sword :I
You wanna press your guard button during the little animation before your giant axe finisher; if the weapon has a bunch of electricity (which means you have phials) surrounding it, that means you're able to charge your shield. . You'll immediately swap back to sword and the shield/shield icon will glow red. As for charging your sword, when you store your phials and your shield is already charged, hold down the light attack button (triangle on ps4 I think); as soon as the weapon shrinks down, let go of the button and you'll do a big sword swing, and it'll be charged. The important part is that you need to LET GO of the button as soon as the blade compresses, otherwise it'll fail charging and you'll do a return swing with the sword instead.
Sorry to ask here since i didn't found the answer by searching on google. Players always talking about "white" phial, but other than your explanation What is the meaning of: 1) 5 empty red phial 2) 5 empty yellow phial 3) 5 full glow yellow phial (as beginner like me, I accidently and it's rarely happen to me because idk which combo makes it like that) Except 5 full glow red phial cause it makes attack bounce
No worries; 5 Empty Red phials means you have charged your blade but havent charged the phials. this means you should use the power you stored in your blade and charge the phials, it means all of them will be filled up. Yellow is similiar just meaning that if you charge, you will only fill half of your phials. Full Glow Yellow Phial is something I genuinely don't know right now. I havent played in a while. at 00:26 I go over certain states of phial charging.

For the guard point can’t you just do a normal guard at the exact time to get the guard point? You have to use the morph slash?
Nope, you have to use a moveset like morph slash
over 1000 hours played only with the cb and didn't know about the forward slash
