I feel so dumb cause I’ve been sitting here, almost 400 hours in the game… and I never even knew the guild palace/Frostfang weapons even existed… welp that would have saved me 100 hours or so of grinding and failing spectacularly XD
Oh no! There's loooads of really good events, I go over a lot of them on the channel here
That 50 shades of grey quest was a nightmare. Barioth is already very annoying as is but the size of this one makes its hitboxes enourmous to the point where some attack have to be superman dived because the hitbox is insane
yeah Barioth used to really knock me about, I promise it can be navigated with ease with some practice though!
Traumatized for first try solo, then spam.it with sos , it enough to heal my trauma , until i can solo quest this MF , 😂
I thought i'm the only one have problem with this mf. Well at least people who play this game is pretty much abundance so i can spam sos anytime
Its white not gray 😂
Break his arms, he becomes a breeze
Gotta say man, i got mhw since release and glad channels like yours still keep the game alive and its insane how many people are still playing
appreciate you mate! yeah, the Wilds announcement really brought a lot of new and returning players in!
Excellent guide and this is mostly what we did (except i haven't made the Furious Rajang weapon yet but I probably will, just need a heart). We just beat Fatalis and it was incredibly satisfying when we did. So i can vouch for this progression, you can just focus on these and they'll carry you to the very end in style. Thanks for another great guide, Dan!
Hell yeah, congrats on your Fatalis victory, big GGs! ❤️
If you get enough fuel, you can do the steamworks and a lot of the time you’re guaranteed to get a celestial wyverian print which you can trade in to the elder melder for the rare monster drops like palliums, plates, and mantles so if that’s all you need it can save a ton of grinding
that guide really helped me get through iceborne and now i m fighting Fatalis in solo (I said fighting not winning i still get fold when he reach his 3rd phase but i don t think i ll get this far without that guide so thank you
You're very welcome, I'm so glad it helped so much!
That Fatalis ZSD horn break was just perfect, I'm really glad you got that recorded!
Good hunts all around, always an honor to hunt with you guys o7
Hell yeah, pleasure as always man!
real nice guide! im starting the REAL game (beat ib story) and seeing all the content post story is insane, could you speak on the sieges? mainly what they can do to progress your builds, do they have good armor or weapons? if i can just do one or two brachy to get the 2nd best raw weapon then why would i do 10 or 20 safi sieges for a worse one..?
So glad you enjoyed it! Sieges are a fun mmo-lite style event that give you weapons with gatcha style reward system. Safi stuff can be upgraded to be really strong, and you have the flexibility of focussing on raw, elemental, or status, depending on what you get and what you wanna build. Overall, a solid option, with some neat armors - but they’re really just that; an option
Safi seige gives Safi weapons, which have a unique upgrade system which use materials from the seige. Big benefit is the weapons can be made to count towards armor set bonuses, letting you easily stack multiple set bonuses.
Kulve Taroth MR gives Kjarr weapons, which all come with Crit Elem/Crit Status and are generally the best elemental weapons in the game. Only really worth using over Fatalis for elemental builds.

Biggest issue I have is materials and the Desire Sensor hates me. I want to get the Kirin SA so I can try out the KT siege, but I need a good fire weapon to get materials, but Anjanath SA needs mantle so I'm just going to use Dragonbone instead. Cuts out a step that way.
could do investigations if you’ve got any for rare mats?
@@LightItUpDan yep, best option I have, but sometimes I somehow can't get any for some monsters like Rathalos, and I have to personally hunt them down in Expedition.
But at least my latest trip got me plenty of Investigations for Anjanath. I delete those 15-20 minute hunts because I don't like time constraints (though I'm probably capable of doing it), but there are others that give me three to four gold rewards in exchange for "you only have one chance in this hunt, cart and you fail"
@@eveakane6563 Even though it's nice to have every weapon with each corresponding element against some monsters, you're only limiting yourself if you keep making new weapons along the way to have a better match-up against every monster there is.
I'd recommend you make two generalized builds, a build that you can use against every monster and a build against an elder dragon. After you do that, you're free to make any specialized build for a specific element or a specific monster.
Hey so could u elaborate about the elder dragon build part? What has to be different from an rounder build for normal monsters to go up against elder dragons?@@emmit317
Currently farming the ever loving hell out of kulve for high ice/fire weapons but my next juicy boi is alatreon.
Frostfang is excellent for Alatreon!
That bit about Fatalis weapons being best weapons is probably true except for a couple of exceptions; one being elemental damage, broadly speaking. Fatalis weapons don't do a lot of Dragon damage even though their elderseal property is really high.
And the one specific weapon that I can confidently say isn't it is the Fatalis LBG, which while looking extremely cute with the rapid fire Slicing Ammo and pretty okay utility ammo capability, isn't nearly as good as the Aquashot when it comes to pasting stickies nor is it any good at doing the elemental ammo thing like the Alatreon LBG can. I suppose if you don't have many of the other end-game LBGs, it won't be too bad, but you might as well make the Fatalis GS or something.
And one more thing about Furious Rajang weapons. The Furious Rajang HBG is hands down the best at shooting Sticky Ammo 3 and is 100% worth making even if you don't normally play HBG. And I don't mean in a transitional progression kinda way either. My Beastbuster is what I whip out whenever I need to carry a lobby through anything that isn't Fatalis.
very cool, cheers for the info!
Between beating shara ishvalda and the grind to get a fatalis build setup, you can also pick up the safi'jiva weapons whenever the event siege is available. Having the innate ability to "augment" the stats with the awakening upgrades that can make the weapons you choose turn out pretty strong compared to the other available options. Depending on the type of weapon you choose to upgrade, you can get unique stat boosts like different song styles for hunting horn or shelling boost for gunlance. You can even get a free point towards certain armor skills like brachydios essence for agitator secret which can make mixed set building much easier (i think only the secret armor skills from non boss elders like alatreon, shara, kulve & safi, etc. can't be obtained through the awakening upgrades, but the other large monsters are available). These weapons can be extremely flexible depending on your luck with the awakening upgrades you choose and can be a really solid option for the rest of endgame. (Kulve's special Kjarr weapons are also a solid choice but the master rank version of her fight to get the upgrade materials extremely tough without certain endgame upgrades like health augment and access to max level armor it can really be frustrating to survive against certain attacks so i wouldn't recommend it unless you have higher level friends to help you)
Definitely a great choice to consider as well!
The frieza line. Top tier man top tier.
I see you are a person of culture 😌
Thank you for making videos on MHW, just got into this game and your guides are so incredibly helpful. Thank you thank you thank you.
You’re very welcome, I’m so glad!
Another excellent video, I havent missed any of them and helped me to improve my hunter's skills ❤❤
hell yeah man, I’m so happy to hear that! ❤️
I'm not sure about the hammer from FrostFang Barioth. I'm looking at Chaos Shatterer (Diabolos and Black Diabolos) and kinda filling it will be better all around, and you can go for Rajang or even Raging Brachydios right away
👍
i was looking for something like this for the last 2 weeks!!
awesome, hope this helps! let me know how you get on! 😄
I only recently got back into the game and i’ve been rocking the Safi Jiva weapons, I haven’t fought Aletreon or Fatalis are the Safi weapons a good weapon to use against them?
sure! there's quite a bit of set up with Safi weapons, and getting the right ones is RNG too, so I wouldn't really bank on it as part of a framework like this
@@LightItUpDan I main insect glaive and have one of every element, my dragon, blast, and i believe fire and built up a little, never really understood most of the weapon upgrading stuff
I'm surprised you didn't include a brief safi siege weapons segment in here
Loads of rng with the gatcha rewards and then a lot of farming to build up each weapon, doesn’t really fit the simple framework here imo! Definitely worth considering if nothing else though
This is exactly what I needed. Thanks!!!
perfect, I’m so glad! let me know how you get on 😤
Excellent guide and Thanks for the tips! Honestly it's hard knowing what progression should I make for other weapons since I only been using LBG for most parts...I do gotta ask though how can I do the Safi'jiva event or kulve taroth whener the siege happens there's no one to join to so its hard soloing it
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! For sieges if you filter your session to search for them, then loads of people will be running it!
Im a charge blade player and recently i got the safi drakesheild and the kjarr kingstrongarm. Does lightbreak offer me a upgrade or should i just keep just keep using both of them? (the safi drakeshield i have it awaken till 20+ lvs alr)
Lightbreak is excellent, you’re gonna have to compare it and see how you feel!
@@LightItUpDan alright thanks! just having a hard time fighting raging bracho his a headache😅
Lil tip
The bone and metal weaopns are easy to max fast
awesome guide
VERY true and often overlooked!
For hammer, I’d say actually use the MR pukei pukei hammer instead of guild palace because I feel like it’s better with 660 poison.
definitely an option! no affinity though, and guild palace can use elementless to further boost raw
Tip for fatalis: if you want to get carried join with the hunting horn.
true
Safi jiva weapons are also really good and can be better that the Brachy weapon
For example my Safy Hammer have this stats:
Safi Shattercrusher
Attack: 1617
Sharpness: is bad (just a little of white a no purple)
Affinity 5%
Element: blast 210
Slots: lvl4 (1), lvl3 (1)
Awakening abilities:
- Slot upgrade 3
- Attack increase 6
- Attack increase 5
- Attack increase 5
- Attack increase 5
Yeah that can be a good choice too
@@LightItUpDan I was calculating the difference with purple sharpness and the brachi weapon have better raw damage while it has purple sharpness
I know that personally I’ve needed GS progression advice. I got through the campaign with my trusty Jagras and have had a hard time moving away from it as the two gem slots have made it real easy to have WE gemmed in leaving room for alot of other skills I like on my armour. I do know about the acid shredder and have it but don’t like the looks of what it takes to make it effective. Unless handicraft is good enough if you don’t mind sharpening. I might just go straight for Lightbreak but feel like my damage needs to be better first. Should I just augment Jagras before going after brachy?
What's so special about the Jagras?
get the Frostfang or Furious Rajang first?
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602what I liked about Jagras is that it has decent damage and some white sharpness and two level 2 gems that I liked for weakness exploit. It often freed up slots on my armour that I could cater to more specific fights. I would see other weapons later with slightly higher damage or better sharpness but losing the two slots always felt like I would lose versatility. Using that weapon I’m going into late game fights wirh a set up I don’t mind but know I’ll need more raw
@@LightItUpDanprobably frostfang
I’m currently stuck on The Story Barioth any tips or any weapons or armor sets I can grind for?
Tips against Barioth are provided during the video if I recall?
@@LightItUpDan ahh yea ty ty
Do you have a video for base game and not ice born since I just started worlds and it’s my first monster hunter game ever
Yeah there's some content for base game on the channel, have a look through the playlist
mr7 barioth when i pull up with my high rank barroth lance:
you cray
is mhwiceborne returning in popularity ?
Yes. Since last year. Peak was probably 2-3 months ago but the server is still great. You'll find hundreds of players online.
huge resurgence after the Wilds announcement, has been settling back down now but still very much “back”
what about good bowguns for ammo choices?
Those loose framework is still effective!
dont forget to always hunt in style! :D
Always!
what weapons should i use for alatreon or fatalis?
Did you watch the video?
@@LightItUpDan i did but idk if it told me what weapons to use for them (i have a very low attention span)
I would say alatreon is right before fatalis
can do yeah! only worth it after it's upgraded to 2nd form, which can be quite a bit of work/luck for the drops
8:56 WAIT, 22 minutes its to much for a hunt? i tried to beat Barioth in the mission from the history line, and it killed me the 3 times, but the hunt was 46 minutes, and like 40 of these minutes was fighting (maybe some less)
PD: Sorry if my english isnt very good, im still learning
I’ve been playing this game for a pretty long time, so hunts don’t tend to take that long for me and the crew!
@@LightItUpDan i think im just bad using the glaive
@@Merid1us don't worry mate you're doing great!
@@LightItUpDan barioth last more than 40 minutes, i dont know if that is great
any guide how can you reach 20 ice resist?
Wear ice armor and/or slot ice resistance decos! You can also eat for L Elem Res food before hunts
I wish it also have armor build
Armor is very straight forward! Make the strongest piece you can when you can, that's about it. Check out the more recent "Do Not Skip" videos, they have breakdowns of the armor sets too, which may be useful for you?
Fatalussy is insane LMAO 💀
lolol
I enjoyed the "50 shades of brown" comment
you're my kinda person ✨
This event doesnt even show up for me
Which event, there's a bunch covered
YOU FORGOT THAT THE FROST FANG ALSO GETS ARMOR FROM THE LAST WHOTE KNIGHT
I didn’t forget lol, this is a weapon progression guide, not armor
Man I want to get this game and play it but I don't have a PlayStation membership anymore and i know that some of these fights that need to fight with a team but I don't know if i get this game or fallout 4 game i can't decide 😢😢😢😢😢
I feel you on the Playstation membership problem but I've never had it all the fights are doable solo.
Of course some will be harder if you are fighting alone but I'd say it's still worth the play.
@@Icarus-TempistIn special missions I managed to beat that Leshan mission and Food Chain Dominator. But the Behemoth is built differently. Can he be soloed?
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602 ah Behemoth is the bane of my existence 😂 I've only been able to farm his armor set then moved on to play Master Rank. I literally just beat Aletreon two days ago (only left with Fatalis then I will have soloed everything in the game).
I'm planning on defeating Fatalis then going back to bully Behemoth in maxed out master rank armor, I'm sure I'll be able to solo him then.
yeah I feel, I think you need to play online to do events as well
@@LightItUpDan not necessarily as long a your Playstation has a network connection and can connect to the PS network you'll have access to event quests, of course without membership you won't be able to fire an SOS or join quests to play with others but the event quests will become available to play solo.
That's how I play them at least
No hate good guide but this guy sounds like a English teacher 🤣
