That 50 shades of grey quest was a nightmare. Barioth is already very annoying as is but the size of this one makes its hitboxes enourmous to the point where some attack have to be superman dived because the hitbox is insane

That bit about Fatalis weapons being best weapons is probably true except for a couple of exceptions; one being elemental damage, broadly speaking. Fatalis weapons don't do a lot of Dragon damage even though their elderseal property is really high. And the one specific weapon that I can confidently say isn't it is the Fatalis LBG, which while looking extremely cute with the rapid fire Slicing Ammo and pretty okay utility ammo capability, isn't nearly as good as the Aquashot when it comes to pasting stickies nor is it any good at doing the elemental ammo thing like the Alatreon LBG can. I suppose if you don't have many of the other end-game LBGs, it won't be too bad, but you might as well make the Fatalis GS or something. And one more thing about Furious Rajang weapons. The Furious Rajang HBG is hands down the best at shooting Sticky Ammo 3 and is 100% worth making even if you don't normally play HBG. And I don't mean in a transitional progression kinda way either. My Beastbuster is what I whip out whenever I need to carry a lobby through anything that isn't Fatalis.
real nice guide! im starting the REAL game (beat ib story) and seeing all the content post story is insane, could you speak on the sieges? mainly what they can do to progress your builds, do they have good armor or weapons? if i can just do one or two brachy to get the 2nd best raw weapon then why would i do 10 or 20 safi sieges for a worse one..?
So glad you enjoyed it! Sieges are a fun mmo-lite style event that give you weapons with gatcha style reward system. Safi stuff can be upgraded to be really strong, and you have the flexibility of focussing on raw, elemental, or status, depending on what you get and what you wanna build. Safi seige gives Safi weapons, which have a unique upgrade system which use materials from the seige. Big benefit is the weapons can be made to count towards armor set bonuses, letting you easily stack multiple set bonuses. Kulve Taroth MR gives Kjarr weapons, which all come with Crit Elem/Crit Status and are generally the best elemental weapons in the game. Only really worth using over Fatalis for elemental builds.

Between beating shara ishvalda and the grind to get a fatalis build setup, you can also pick up the safi'jiva weapons whenever the event siege is available. Having the innate ability to "augment" the stats with the awakening upgrades that can make the weapons you choose turn out pretty strong compared to the other available options. Depending on the type of weapon you choose to upgrade, you can get unique stat boosts like different song styles for hunting horn or shelling boost for gunlance. You can even get a free point towards certain armor skills like brachydios essence for agitator secret which can make mixed set building much easier (i think only the secret armor skills from non boss elders like alatreon, shara, kulve & safi, etc. can't be obtained through the awakening upgrades, but the other large monsters are available). These weapons can be extremely flexible depending on your luck with the awakening upgrades you choose and can be a really solid option for the rest of endgame. (Kulve's special Kjarr weapons are also a solid choice but the master rank version of her fight to get the upgrade materials extremely tough without certain endgame upgrades like health augment and access to max level armor it can really be frustrating to survive against certain attacks so i wouldn't recommend it unless you have higher level friends to help you)
Just did a hammer playthrough recently. I finished base game world having done all but the HR 100 optional quest as I was about 24HR away from 100 and wasn't gunna sit in high rank any longer just to repeat quests. Came into iceborne with the dragon eye patch and the rest drachen armor with a lunastra-xeno weapon for the extra sharpness protection and got it a health augment. I got into post game iceborne without ever changing my set or weapon then in postgame upgraded to a frostfang helm, chest and gloves, fulgar anjy waist and yian g legs mixed set and frostfang weapon with health augment being easy to get with only needing materials from a lvl 6 forest. Beat fatalis with that. Super simple, would say the only tricky part of the whole run was getting the behemoth tails as I couldn't get enough piercing pods to cut it, so got a buddy in with a cutting weapon to help me get them. Drachen armor lacks def throughout iceborne, but the offensive skills are just too damn strong to replace imo, so the health augment just offsets that and gives you a better time.

So like, for the guild palace weapons do you just not use free element? is that throwing? wouldnt using non-locked elemental weapons be better? I mean if you're progressing through IB, what're the chances you need that T3 deco slot? I dont really get it Like, honestly, playing LS, at my progression point of hitting MR 7, the GP LS has 855 attack, if I could also make a blossom+ with 858 attack and like 400 poison its just like I dont really get where the guild palace weapons fit into
You can mostly ignore elements entirely in World, raw is king. Because it’s hidden element you can also use elementless to further boost raw. Status ailments on weapons can be dope! I tried the 50 shades of white quest and I only got 1 fest ticket so guess who has to do that nightmare again. I thought it was supposed to give me enough to make them?
Not necessarily, it gives you everything you require to craft them from the event alone, but it may need multiple runs depending on your drops. Try using lucky vouchers
I know that personally I’ve needed GS progression advice. I got through the campaign with my trusty Jagras and have had a hard time moving away from it as the two gem slots have made it real easy to have WE gemmed in leaving room for alot of other skills I like on my armour. I do know about the acid shredder and have it but don’t like the looks of what it takes to make it effective. Unless handicraft is good enough if you don’t mind sharpening. I might just go straight for Lightbreak but feel like my damage needs to be better first. Should I just augment Jagras before going after brachy?
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602what I liked about Jagras is that it has decent damage and some white sharpness and two level 2 gems that I liked for weakness exploit. It often freed up slots on my armour that I could cater to more specific fights. I would see other weapons later with slightly higher damage or better sharpness but losing the two slots always felt like I would lose versatility. Using that weapon I’m going into late game fights wirh a set up I don’t mind but know I’ll need more raw

Im a charge blade player and recently i got the safi drakesheild and the kjarr kingstrongarm. Does lightbreak offer me a upgrade or should i just keep just keep using both of them? (the safi drakeshield i have it awaken till 20+ lvs alr)
Lightbreak is excellent, you’re gonna have to compare it and see how you feel!
@@LightItUpDan alright thanks! just having a hard time fighting raging bracho his a headache😅
I went from great jagras CB to Diablos CB to Brachydios CB. Seems like I jumped some steps
Honestly if it worked for you then that’s awesome!
So like, for the guild palace weapons do you just not use free element? is that throwing? wouldnt using non-locked elemental weapons be better? I mean if you're progressing through IB, what're the chances you need that T3 deco slot? I dont really get it
Like, honestly, playing LS, at my progression point of hitting MR 7, the GP LS has 855 attack, if I could also make a blossom+ with 858 attack and like 400 poison its just like I dont really get where the guild palace weapons fit into
You can mostly ignore elements entirely in World, raw is king. Because it’s hidden element you can also use elementless to further boost raw. Status ailments on weapons can be dope! If you’ve got access to better stuff and the parts ready to go, that’s totally fine. Use this as a framework to build from
@@LightItUpDan Good to know, probably need to side track to farm for a blossom+ and I mean. I spent that hour fighting barrioth twice so.... I might as well use it
I tried the 50 shades of white quest and I only got 1 fest ticket so guess who has to do that nightmare again. I thought it was supposed to give me enough to make them?
Not necessarily, it gives you everything you require to craft them from the event alone, but it may need multiple runs depending on your drops. Try using lucky vouchers
One question what is that head piece you're wearing
what weapons should i use for alatreon or fatalis?
Did you watch the video?
@@LightItUpDan i did but idk if it told me what weapons to use for them (i have a very low attention span)
I’m currently stuck on The Story Barioth any tips or any weapons or armor sets I can grind for?
Tips against Barioth are provided during the video if I recall?
@@LightItUpDan ahh yea ty ty
any guide how can you reach 20 ice resist?
Wear ice armor and/or slot ice resistance decos! You can also eat for L Elem Res food before hunts
What's so special about the Jagras?
get the Frostfang or Furious Rajang first?
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602what I liked about Jagras is that it has decent damage and some white sharpness and two level 2 gems that I liked for weakness exploit. It often freed up slots on my armour that I could cater to more specific fights. I would see other weapons later with slightly higher damage or better sharpness but losing the two slots always felt like I would lose versatility. Using that weapon I’m going into late game fights wirh a set up I don’t mind but know I’ll need more raw
@@LightItUpDanprobably frostfang
Do you have a video for base game and not ice born since I just started worlds and it’s my first monster hunter game ever
Yeah there's some content for base game on the channel, have a look through the playlist
is mhwiceborne returning in popularity ?
Yes. Since last year. Peak was probably 2-3 months ago but the server is still great. You'll find hundreds of players online.
huge resurgence after the Wilds announcement, has been settling back down now but still very much “back”
Started the game with defender tree Hammer and finished it with the same…..(Base game)
Yeah defender stuff is catch up gear to fly through base game
what about good bowguns for ammo choices?
Those loose framework is still effective!
8:56 WAIT, 22 minutes its to much for a hunt? i tried to beat Barioth in the mission from the history line, and it killed me the 3 times, but the hunt was 46 minutes, and like 40 of these minutes was fighting (maybe some less)
PD: Sorry if my english isnt very good, im still learning
I’ve been playing this game for a pretty long time, so hunts don’t tend to take that long for me and the crew!
@@LightItUpDan i think im just bad using the glaive
@@Merid1us don't worry mate you're doing great!
@@LightItUpDan barioth last more than 40 minutes, i dont know if that is great
Ahh, a fellow Frieza Force Sympathiser. Good man
dont forget to always hunt in style! :D
Always!
I enjoyed the "50 shades of brown" comment
you're my kinda person ✨
Can you do one of these for long swords?
It applies for all weapons, did you watch the video?
@@LightItUpDan I see, I just thought it was for that weapon you were using
@@JeebJibis I state during the video it's applicable for all weapons
@@LightItUpDan you did, mb gang
I would say alatreon is right before fatalis
can do yeah! only worth it after it's upgraded to 2nd form, which can be quite a bit of work/luck for the drops
Safi jiiva and alatreon before fatalis?
Of course! Everything before Fatalis
Fatalussy is insane LMAO 💀
lolol
Tf i passed the game with the 10 lvl jagrass sword ._.
If that worked for you then that’s fine!
This event doesnt even show up for me
Which event, there's a bunch covered
What about non hammers?
14 weapons available he just mains hammer
This is for all weapons
Man I want to get this game and play it but I don't have a PlayStation membership anymore and i know that some of these fights that need to fight with a team but I don't know if i get this game or fallout 4 game i can't decide 😢😢😢😢😢
I feel you on the Playstation membership problem but I've never had it all the fights are doable solo.
Of course some will be harder if you are fighting alone but I'd say it's still worth the play.
@@Icarus-TempistIn special missions I managed to beat that Leshan mission and Food Chain Dominator. But the Behemoth is built differently. Can he be soloed?
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602 ah Behemoth is the bane of my existence 😂 I've only been able to farm his armor set then moved on to play Master Rank. I literally just beat Aletreon two days ago (only left with Fatalis then I will have soloed everything in the game).
I'm planning on defeating Fatalis then going back to bully Behemoth in maxed out master rank armor, I'm sure I'll be able to solo him then.
yeah I feel, I think you need to play online to do events as well
@@LightItUpDan not necessarily as long a your Playstation has a network connection and can connect to the PS network you'll have access to event quests, of course without membership you won't be able to fire an SOS or join quests to play with others but the event quests will become available to play solo.
That's how I play them at least
I wish it also have armor build
Armor is very straight forward! Make the strongest piece you can when you can, that's about it. Check out the more recent "Do Not Skip" videos, they have breakdowns of the armor sets too, which may be useful for you?
YOU FORGOT THAT THE FROST FANG ALSO GETS ARMOR FROM THE LAST WHOTE KNIGHT
I didn’t forget lol, this is a weapon progression guide, not armor
No hate good guide but this guy sounds like a English teacher 🤣
