The idea of the Unreal engine client is intriguing to me. I'm not a big fan of the old client going away eventually, though. At that point it won't really feel so much like an extended/improved version of Vanilla, it will become more its own thing. In which case, maybe they will still have a server up that supports the old client and if not, surely another private server somewhere will fill in the gap for those who need it filled. I'm just glad there's people working on this stuff. So thankful for the Turtle team and for folks like you Malonze, helping the community get this awesome information!

I hope there's a native Linux client for the Unreal version. If not, I'm sure I can run it in Wine like I do with current Turtle!

It does look nice. BUT vanilla/classic wow has its own style. I wonder with this Unreal5 can any computer run it or does it have to be a expensive gaming rig?
It requires a 1060. And (either i5 or i3) either way. An average computer should run it fine
You can switch between old graphics and new one. Old graphics will run on potatoes

What worries me, is that is mentioned no one in Turtle dev team have knowledge about legal stuff etc. Also another worry thing is about Asmongold commenting this trailer... I suspect after the Unreal TWoW release, if this will happend... Lots of Asmon fan boys will get there and ruin the vibe.
Asmon has already named dropped this server several times in the past. They are already here
After US and EU stole half a trillion dollars from Russia, Putin scrapped all IP laws for Western companies.
That being said the dev team is from Russia, the owners are from Russia and considering "muh c&d BS", at this point there a hundreds of megatons of nuclear ordinance aimed at California. Stolen pixels from a 30 year old video game aren't high on bucket list in US-Russia relationship.

Big streamers can't stream pservers without risk, so you won't likely see many stick around.

@@josedelapinio Turtle WoW is based in Russia. Russians wanting a Russian dev team to also let them properly play a Russian language version is not only an expected response, but correct.
Like I said, they didn't speak on their networking solution for the unreal core. I would be curious to see if they're going to be able to get the same number of concurrent connections with the same performance using unreal baked in networking solution, or if they will have to develop their own.
Possibly something that they wont know until put into practice. We may get a dev update post on this eventually.

I'm still not interested in it. I'll play Project Epoch. Why? Because behind the graphics update, Turtle Wow still has the cluttered content and class changes that are woefully bad or subpar to Blizzard content. Project Epoch world changes appeal to me more, and they use proven class changes from TBC and further tweaks that clearly come from people who understand the real end game meta and what is actually needed for each class.
I think the main problem overall in world of Warcraft, is meta, the min-maxing instead of having fun of playing.

Calm down dude. We all know you have six wives, fourteen kids and sixteen full time jobs, but Classic is the Easy mode of WoW and meant for fun adventures. If you want to be so good at WoW try a version that wasnt solved long enough ago that the original 1.0 can legally vote.
