I have the client ready to go to play on launch when this releases and I hope it's as good as it looks. Probably just going to run a dwarf hunter like I do 90% of the time even though there are new race/class combos. I just hope there aren't "challenge runs" because that is what killed Turtle WoW for me (other than the community and moderators). Grouping sucks when half the playerbase are doing hardcore and it also kills the pvp scene. Imagine not taking part in pvp in World of WARcraft before hitting the level cap. Yeah F that.

I really, really hope they manage to make the open world feeling dangerous. Blizzard said they would make the open world in SoD more dangerous to compensate for increased player power, but then it ended up being a joke for most classes. I want Azeroth to feel like a world instead of a game adapted to instanced gameplay.
Same thing I’m hoping for. World will feel much more lived in with all the additions and mobs will be buffed past level 14 so they’ll be noticeably more dangerous

Pretty good overview of the server. Any content creator coverage is a boon. I think the server deserves a lot more recognition for how ambitious it is and how much content it's releasing just at launch. It's the only private server I'm looking forward to!

I really hope they find an easier way to onboard players, the conversion rate from retail and classic will definitely be higher if its easy to download and start playing + some time and money is put on marketing. Didnt even know about project epoch until I accidentally stumbled upon your video and now im sold. Looking forward to this private server, im totally sold. Also really enjoy your content, keep it up :)

The site doesn’t say that heroic leap got removed. Last I checked it’s still a skill purchasable at level 40.
The 3.5.5 client was all it took to convince me. I love what Turtle WoW has done, but that old 1.12 client where all my macros don't work is atrocious.
Its 3.3.5, not classic wrath, but will see how fps and smoth are..

In Europe on vacation Alex, disappointed I missed first couple uploads. Can’t wait to return home in a couple days, get a cup of black coffee and enjoy these vids. Looking forward to the beta as well, I have high hopes for Epoch.

Quit SOD in p2, started to feel like a chore more than fun, Epoch really is the only version of wow calling me atm, it's what I personally wanted wow plus to be, new world content etc, it has that new exploration vibe feeling that OG vanilla had... Quite excited, hope it's as good as it seems

Yeah, my problem as well. I have played Turtle for over a year and still don't have a level 60 yet but 3 level 40's and a handful of 20-30's.

As someone who actually played Vanilla back in the day, I have finally accepted that we aren't going to ever get any good new Classic+ Content from Blizzard ever. It's pretty mindblowing that Private servers like Turtle WoW and now the upcoming Project Epoch will be safe havens for people who just want to enjoy Classic WoW with new additions, meanwhile official Blizzard servers will never provide players with anything actually new. I am quite excited for Project Epoch, not gonna lie...it's been in development for a long time now and the whole project/server looks absolutely Legit with new additions that make me excited to play it. Something that isn't present whatsoever on Blizzard's official servers.
yeah you won't get a good WoW experience from Blizzard, private servers are the way to go for WoW fans

I'm not personally a fan of removing faction exclusivity from shaman and paladin, but given how much else this has going for it I'm still quite excited to see where it will go. Nice summary video I will probably try this server out.
this is my stance as well, there's too much other content and ideas to throw away because of 1 or 2 disagreements I have about the server
I'm bringing up "fuck UD paladins" every second day on discord.
I actually dont mind it because i like playing Paladins but i hate the Alliance and only play Horde :DD
Here it doesn't matter to much. But on SoD it is outrageous. Shaman singlehandedly cause a massive PVE/PVP disparity between the horde and alliance. Furthered by shamanistic rage being a huge mana battery unavailable to the alliance. As for PVP, they could do massive balance just by having them available to each faction. Shaman and Pallies staying more or less the same here shouldn't affect things too much. Especially with the priest mana racial/abililty previewed
it will make pvp more balanced in the long run. For the first few months there will be SHITLOADS of undead paladins though which will cause BG's to favor horde though.
This looks great. They should think about things like transmog, increasing inventory and bank space, perhaps a repair bot, bank mule auction house and mailbox summonable pets for a fair amount of gold. And lastly more mounts choices like twow but obtainable within the game.
Also unless gold is easy to come by, 1000g for dual spec is on the high side.

I just started on Turtle WoW their newer but smaller server and having a blast. I love the slow journey and smaller but friendly community it feels like 2006 again for me. And, with their custom professions, city parts in stormwind, zones, dungeons, quests, items etc it feels like a completely new game with wonder (in a good way). I feel like the majority of MMORPGS has become mobas and almost FPS games. Turtle feels like a mmoRPG. I play without addons or only with AI Voice over addon.
I just found out about this server. Will this be something for me?

Man I am very impatiently waiting for this to drop. So done with the half assed SoD that Blizz put out. Right now they haven't communicated with the community in weeks. Hoping it drops soon!
I was trying turtle wow today and community seems super active but man that old client looks terrible. Trying to find addons to make it look better.

This looks super interesting. Maybe it could have more custom areas and zones like Turtle WoW, but that could be added later. Secondly they absolutely need to rename Zeppelin District to Valley Of Winds. That name made absolutely no sense lore wise.

If money was not an issue, and i could make a private server myself…then I would start it out using Turtle WoW as a base and then I would…
1. Have there b 4 factions instead of 2. Horde-Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren(Druids available) Alliance-Human, Dwarf(Dwarf Druids) and Gnome Forsaken- Undead, Blood elves, and Worgen (Druid possible). Elven- Dark elf(Druid possible), High elf, and Draenei.
2. Incorporate the entire trial system from Ascension WoW.
3. Improve the rewards for achieving immortal or infernal status by introducing a prestige system.
4. Build PFui, voice over, and other common addons into the game, make a game launcher similar to Ascension, and integrate HD turtle WoW mods (but make them able to be disabled or enabled in the games options).
5. Bring Flying to Azeroth.
6. Just like turtle, no outlands, no northrend, lvl 60 cap, no level scaling, but I would have world events and other mechanics more like Ascension.
7. I would eliminate every raid instance. Raids would not exist.
8. More dungeons, and more content added to existing dungeons. Turtle WoW's next update looks like it will do a lot of this.
9. Give professions a MASSIVE buff, its a massive time sink and a lot of effort so the reward should better. Turtle had the right idea, it buffed professions, but not enough imo.
That’s the gist of it anyway…
Hope the PVP will very active because I mostly get my end game gear through pvp.

Is fury prot gunna be a thing still as I really enjoyed that. Bit unsure how it’s gunna work so it’s wotlk client but vanilla spells but tbf talents.
I am not sure, probably not because mobs do a lot more dmg here than classic wow
