That sand was taking from the Mersey to fill the dock up, now it’s coming out for the waterway, I wonder if that sand on the pitch is the one from the waterway? Would probably need mixing with top soil for an 80/20 sand to soil mix though.
@@DuncTheBlue1878 you might be right, I once chatted to a guy who ran a water safety training school at Collingwood - for people working on the Burbo Bank wind farm. It was him who used the word brackish and he spent much of his working life in the dock water - it stuck with me as I’d never heard the word before and had to go look it up!
@@DuncTheBlue1878 the latest club vid with the L OR project director explains how the salt water moves from Sandon, through the BMD channel and into Nelson to keep the docks topped up on the canal fed side - I thought it was the other way around but it makes sense given how slow canals flow. Also means the Nelson and Collingwood water is in fact brackish and not fresh. My guy all those years ago was right it seems. I’m not going in to test it though 👍
I’m sure they’ll will only let the water from Sandon dock go towards the bridge at the southwest edge of the stadium adjoining Nelson dock . They won’t let the waters mix imo
Water will have to spill into the water channel from Nelson Dock, otherwise Nelson Dock would flood out because water enters from the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. The pipes under the south bridge will be unblocked once they’ve finished excavating.
Very good again, CP. Since we are on the subject on the Waterway/Dock I am going to put out a Thought (will probably get Shot-down-in-Flames) but here goes: Have Everton missed a trick here? Instead of just restoring part of the Dock could they not have put in a solar-heated Swimming Pool / Spa. This would've been an additional Leisure Offer for non-Match Days and somewhere where fans could jump in to celebrate Big Wins etc. Yes, it's Blue-Sky thinking, I know - but it could have added another dimension...
@@mikeoglen6848 you could have been American. Hahahahahahaa. Great vision but also way over budget, isn't it. Who would jump into the spa in the climate you have just before the match? 🤣😆😭
The water channel is a requirement of the planning permission. Historic England and the Environment Agency requested it. They’d have objected to a solar heated swimming pool.
Does anyone know about the last spaces on the middle of the west stand.are there going yo be used for more disable spaces? Seems like no seats are been unstalled. Seems like alot of disabled space in stadium
Lovely video mate 👍 and fresh water mixing with brakkish water will end up fresh after some time depending on how much they let in and out. Logisch😂
Quality m8, Luv the info 😘👍
There will be limited water movement from Nelson Dock into the West Stand water channel.

Very unlikely but it would be more fertile sand than you might expect. Nice view 👊👍
I was thinking that...but what's happening to the sand they take away? Do they put it back into the Mersey?
@@jurgenvoogt1638probably, but it would nice for Everton fans if it was used.
@@mikeoglen6848good question. It would be nice if it could be graded for use on the pitch, if not they maybe selling it.
@@garethparry6673 Yes it would be great 👊👍
Don't think they are barrel panels, if you look at east end they are smaller square solid panels, starting underneath
I believe the dock water is a mix of salty and fresh - brackish as it’s called.
Nelson Dock is freshwater from the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Sandon Dock is saline. The water channel will be brackish 👍🏻

@@stevesanders6770 Yeah, watched that too. His comments were misleading. Sandon Dock water doesn’t enter Nelson Dock, it’s the other way round
@@DuncTheBlue1878 there’s a joke somewhere in this about Everton and making water flow uphill 👍
Rivers are fresh water that flow out to sea. Not the other way round.

@@DuncTheBlue1878 I can see the thinking behind that, dunc, but it would still be water, wouldn't it?

Seems like alot of disabled space in stadium
And?
VIP seating
Yep, the best seats in the stadium will eventually be installed there for the owners, shareholders, Directors.
first seeds before october come on !
It is a nice stadium and the location is top but it does look like a spaceship landed on top of a building
Could have made it a Lido a few lifeguards etc there's benches already
Water quality not good enough for it to be a lido - swimmers would become ill
It's all seawater isn't it?
It was seawater fish they had to remove before filling in bramley moore
Nelson Dock is freshwater from the Leeds-Liverpool Canal and Sandon Dock is seawater. Water Channel will be brackish.
