As a lifelong Red, i'm a little jealous about this!! ... but as a football fan from the local area it makes me happy that our two big clubs will be secure in our respective grounds for a long long time!!

PoI's:
1) The appearance of wood shuttering on the East Stand portals suggests that the doors have been installed and the glass is being protected or awaiting installation into those doors.
2) At 2:00 mins, one has to wonder how much longer it will take to finish off the central cut-through in the wall. It seems to have been nearly finished for ages.
3) At 2: 18 mins, for those with decent screens, you can see how the water-effect concrete flags on the East Plaza DO get slightly darker overall as they get nearer the East Stand, which IS an intended design feature.
4) The first of the SW Corner Lower Window Coving/Fascia has been installed (see 4:50 mins). They have nearly gone right across the top edge. What is interesting here is that the colour of the new lower corner coving seems to be of a lighter grey than the top edge. It remains to be seen if this is a genuine tone differential or just a difference in the light based on the lower corner ones facing upwards, and the top ones facing downwards.
5) At 4:55 mins, I remian curious as to what they are doing with those scaffold towers around the three western-most steels above the Viewing Gallery. Even more curious is the fact that you can also see the same thing going on with the three western-most steels on the North Stand (9:00 mins).
6) At 6:14 mins, you can see how there is a slightly different finish to the water-proof concrete base pad at the northern and southern end. At the northern end the pad has been installed right up to the curvature of the old Dock Wall, whereas at the southern end it goes up only to a single point of meeting the old dock wall just at the northern edge of the old dock gate situated there.
7) One has to wonder at 7:10 mins if they will be making sure they remove all that loose equipment and drums before they install the lowest levels of the barrel-cladding there.
8) At 7:16 mins, one has to wonder when they will be painting the rest of the concrete roof in that dark-grey paint used under the barrel roof (obviously when they think all else is completed on that roof). In the design images, all of the concrete rooves are shown being 'dark'.
9) At 9:14 mins, you can see how well they are progressing with the installation of the concrete foundation wall for the future northern perimeter steel fencing.
10) At 9:28 mins, a repeat comment about the NE Lower Window Coving/Fascia, as made in 3) above.
11) Whenever are they going to finish the concrete protection wraps for the black steels of the North Stand overhang (a rhetorical Q)?
12) At 9:55 mins, one has to wonder if they still intend to install the curved roof walkway near the edge of the standing-seam roof on the West and East Stands or whether that plan has been shelved (the installation of Man-safe, fixings near the edge makes me wonder even more). However , it does look like there are sections of walkway lying on the standing-seam roof, waiting for a home.
13) At 11:49 mins, the amount of rainwater sitting on the 'patio' suggests there is still some water-tight work to be done on the joint between the standing-seam roof and the Polycarbonate roof of the West Stand and not just the finishing of the Movement Joints.
Draw breath David but so really good observations. I feel sorry for the north elevation 😢😢, it’s been so nearly finished for such along time still a lot of finishing / closing in works to do. Come on Langs let’s get some elevations 100% completed. Also cont wait for the temporary edge protection to be removed the roof will be majestic

If Laing O'Rourke are smart then they will get everyone to take them off when they do the fire safety tests.

The stadium has a very modern and distinctive design. The profile is highly unique and is doesn't look like any other stadium in the world. I'm sure it will achieve landmark status to the point when anyone sees a photo of it they will immediately recognize is as Liverpool.
ive been to tottenhams new stadium which wow^ed me cant wait to see are new ground fully completed yeah leaving goodison will be hard but bramley moore will soften that blow
Hey Nick, great video as always and starting to look amazing. Some finishing touches starting to be added. On the South stand where they have the steel sticking out from the main structure on the lower section. They have started adding in mesh panels on the Eastern end which will be for the Everton banners when we move in. Can’t wait to see it when I come back over. COYB
I am not usually a fan of modern buildings (in fact I generally despise them!), but for once there has obviously been a great deal of thought gone into a development. I think the stadium fits in well with the existing surroundings and whatever the weather (rain, hail, sun and very likely more rain!) it will always look majestic. I believe the 'water-effect' paving will capitalise on the climate and just 'come alive' when it is wet and with our renowned sunsets over the Mersey it'll look absolutely fantastic. Still a way to go, but plenty of progress being made, with barrel-cladding nearing completion and the water-way and West Stand Plaza slowly taking shape. UTFT! 💙👊

Another great video... every time I see the south stand I cant help but wish the dividing wall/barrier between the lower/upper tiers was coated in royal blue. Would look even more immense and intimidating giving the impression of one huge terrace without division!
According to the final plans and the People’s Project App, that dividing wall will be royal blue. I think it’ll probably be covered in The 1878s’ flags and banners during games.

Hi Nick Great videos as always just had an idea, do you remember when you made a comparison of the difference in sizes of Goodison and BMD but you couldn't tell the difference in sizes so much because BMD was still being built, now the structure is completed might it be possible to try this again if it's not too much trouble? Could you do a very low fly down the water channel in front of the west stand, Nick? When there is nobody working? I'm really interested in how Laing O'Rourke are 'waterproofing' the channel so our stadium isn't eroded.
LoR have added waterproof concrete to the water channel wall and along the base too

Hi mr drone. Great vid as normal. Now that work is nearing the end and harder to see what they do through the week. Is it possible to put a small screen shot of each side from the week before so we can see what has changed. Also the concrete floors that are above the offices and below the barrel cladding is there anything planned to go on them or will they be painted. It seems a waste of space to me lol.
The flat concrete roof will be covered with dark grey sealant 👍🏻
At 1:20 (and 9:23) there is a new black mesh Wind baffle? fitted on the black steel on the North East corner, next to the blue cherry picker. I assume these will be fitted all along the back of the North stand. At 9:18 it looks as if one of the black steels has been painted grey?

They are seeding as it will be a hybrid mix of grass seed and a synthetic surface.

Iv heard they could expand the stadium by 10,000 approx if they need to. How is this possible, everythings closed in?
Mr Blue: Only by a change in the law for safe-standing areas, which would only apply here to the Lower Tier of the South Stand and the Away Section in the NE Lower Tier.
Possible if the government change the law on safe standing and allow 3 fans per 2 rail seats. Highly unlikely.

The white painted flat roof on east and west stands plus the white finished walk ways on north and south stands look really grubby and have not weathered well. Do you know if this will be cleaned or repainted (maybe even changed to black as shown on some computer fly-through images of the east and west).

Yes, inside the stadium, the walkways will be cleaned.
The flat roofs you’re referring to on the outside (below the barrel cladding and above the brick cladding) will have dark grey sealant to finish off. One of the later jobs once they’ve finished the barrel cladding and main roof. The roofs above the main west entrance and the club shop (on the east side) will be finished then too.

Does anyone know when the floodlights (to light the pitch) are due to be installed and will these be lots of individuals lights like at Goodison? It’s not obvious where on the stadium these lights will be installed.
The floodlights were installed last year (November, I think) 👍🏻

11:39 Hi Nick, regarding the dugouts, there are 2 sections with around 40 seats obviously for the home and away teams. But then to the left of the dugouts there is another smaller dugout with 24 seats. What is this for do you know? Is it for referees or media or something? Thanks, Gavin
Well spotted. Those seats will be for TV pitch side reporters, the stadium announcer, members of EFC’s media team, security stewards, players not in the squad due to injury, and possibly youth players
Does anyone know what the small dark triangular sections in the barrel cladding are for?...Looks as though pieces are missing.
It's for air vents mate, their are air conditioning/ventilation units behind them
For the outside of the stadium are they going to make it more blue for Everton colours or is it staying as it will be?
Pretty much staying as it is now but there will be blue ‘mood lighting’ of the barrel cladding. There will also be blue EFC banners in the main fan zone plaza and under the south and north stands. The club will also be adding some branding to the outside but will have to adhere to the ‘Heritage Police’ rules.
@DuncTheBlue1878 thank you for clearing that up, I knew there was going to be lighting on the barrel cladding I've heard that in cp overviews videos, I was only wondering because goodison Park has lots of blue and bramely moore looks cool 100% but more blue around it wouldn't hurt haha 👌
@@joelhibbard1482 If the docks didn’t have the heritage status (e.g. the actual dock walls are a listed grade II building), then the outside would have a lot of blue 👍🏻

Once the outside of the stadium and pitch is completed, they will presumably be working exclusively on the internal fit-out. Will you still continue your videos at this point?

One thing thats bothering me is branding . I keep feeling we shouldnsurely have something on the outside displaying Evertkn...one thing i keep meanign to ask if anyone knows are those black panels to the left and right of the windows in the front face of east stand about the entrance electronic? Are they going to display match details etc ?
The lack of branding outside is mainly due to the heritage status and the conditions of planning permission from the council (via Historic England). The building has the be similar to the surrounding docks e.g. the Tobacco Warehouse. The club will add some branding but very unlikely to be a big blue Everton sign.
The black cladding panels you refer to aren’t electronic.

Seeded, not turf. Will be a mixture of natural and synthetic grass.

Any idea why the dashes in the barrel cladding seems to be missing on some areas on the east stand? Is it a height of the drone or are they really not there?
Air exhaust vents, and it’s part of the design. The number and size is dictated by the extractor fans from hospitality/kitchens under the barrel cladding.

Will there be any Everton branding on the stadium? A few have noticed there is no branding on the dugout seats also not seen any plans for a big crest on the side like on the current main stand.
The club are holding back on any of that in case it interferes with the demands of a stadium rights sponsor. I expect that will be sorted before the end of 2024.
Due to the heritage status, the EFC branding outside the stadium will be subtle/low key, unfortunately

@@andymerrick6854 It’s a condition of the planning permission. When EFC applied for permission, the dock still had UNESCO world heritage protection. Even though that’s now been removed, the planning conditions remain. Also, the dock is still a Grade II listed building.
Great video as ever Nick. One question I have is, where will the cameras be positioned for TV coverage? Obviously they will be on either the east or west stands. Do you know mate?
Various camera ‘plinths’ around the stadium, but the main TV camera will be in the west stand at the lower part of the upper tier and above the upper executive boxes. You can see the concrete platform here at 11:52
The TV camera platform in the east stand can be seen at the bottom of the upper tier (above the executive boxes) here at 12:34
There will, of course, be other cameras for VAR.

@@gazzoh Yes, that’s right. If the main TV camera was in the east stand, there would be a risk of direct sunlight into the lens.
Gazzoh: so, bear with me on this one as I give you all the timestamps and reference points from this video.
1) At 11:53 mins, the MAIN/Primary TV Camera will be located at the front centre of the platform at the bottom of the Higher Tier, just to the left/south of where you can see loops of cable just now. It will be vertically in line with the Players Tunnel.
2) At 12:08 mins, there will be a camera plinth located at the front-centre of the wide Accessibility Area platform at the NW, directly in front of the vomitory over the Pitch Access Tunnel.
3) At 12:16 mins, the NE one will mirror-image the previous one, being lcoated in front of the vomitory of the Away Fans Accessibility Platform.
4) At 12:34 mins, you can see the location of the Secondary TV Camera. It's the small area without seats located at the front-centre at the bottom of the East Stand Upper Tier, which is why there is a glass balustrade backing the couple of terraces.
5) At 12:59 mins, there is supposed to be a plinth in the SE corner, situated at the back of the Lower Tier of the South Stand but they seem to have fitted seats right to the corner of that back row, so this is now open to question.
6) At 13:04 mins, there is supposed to be a plinth located at the centre of the back row of the Lower Tier of the South Stand. However, they have fitted seats there, even though there does appear to be a 'gap line' for the three back terraces of 4 seats, so watch this space, I guess.
7) At 13:07 mins, I make the same comment as per 5) above, except for the SW corner.
@@DuncTheBlue1878Good point. That was our initial reason for wanting our new seats to be in the west stand. However , with the amount of corporate etc. in the west stand we feel it will be easier to get the six seats we need together in the east when we move from the paddock.

Is the tunnel at the west stand where the players will drive in and be dropped off?
No, it’s a pedestrian only entrance. Players get dropped off on the NW corner. 👍🏻
Kind of. If the weather is good, the coach will drop them at the base of the steps facing the river, in the middle. If the weather is bad they'll get off ar the NW corner
Darren: as Sparkymark states. The mezzanine 'tunnel' is really intended to be for weather protection for pedestrians waiting to get in the West Stand. The only vehicle movements under the mezzanine will be for emergency vehicles, if needed. As Mark states, with really bad weather there is the option of the Players Coach just getting its nose under the north end of the mezzanine for the players to alight, before it reverses and parks up elsewhere.
I can see why the area lost its heritage status. Eyesore.

Yeah, away fans in the north east corner lower tier. For cup games, away fans will have the north east corner upper tier too.

Anybody know why the patterns on the east cladding is different to the west cladding?
The air exhaust vents’ shape, size and distribution are dictated by the extractor fans under the barrel cladding. There are more kitchens on the west side. Does look odd on the east side, but that’s the design
