It looks like you installed what I call a starter alternator (that is it charges the battery and starts the motor). Did you make a video of the install. I bought one a few years ago but haven't installed.
Hi Dan, after watching this video I learned already something in the attempt to start my Farmall, I have one problem so far, it don't go out of gear, I need to lift the plate over the gear box to see what is going on
Try jacking up the rear of the tractor to get the weight stress off the gearbox, make sure it is Secure and chuck the front wheels, then Rock the rear wheels back and forth and work the gear shift. If it was sitting in gear a long time it could simply be stuck due to the Pressure of the weight. Also the Clutch pressure plate could be frozen. I want to be of as much help as possible but not much space here to write responses, so maybe better if we correspond by email... Here is Mine... danscaretaker@hotmail.com
Im having a issue where the rotor is not sending a spark to the coils any solutions? Brand new rotor cap and wires has spark out of the coil pack but not out of the cap
Sounds to me like a Dead Short INSIDE the Distributer. First thing Id check the cut off switch and make sure it is in fact good. Simple way way to do this is to disconect the wire from the Distributer . If the short is Not there, Then I'd change the Condensor. Good Luck.
@@DumbCow461 Sometimes the SIMPLE Fixes can be the hardest to see and solve. It has GOT TO BE something Very Simple that is "Hiding in Clear View"..I know it sounds off but .I have Sometimes had the Carbon contact on the inside of the Cap not reach and make contact with the rotor. If Tyou have the old cap try to switch it. Sorry I can't be of more help...Wish I was there to see it. Good Luck.
Hi Fantastic video, i have an international AW6 it was running ok 2 weeks ago i went to start it yesterday it cranked over with starter motor then would go bang out the exhaust i cleaned carby but i noticed the points were set at 20 thou would that be right i have been told.013 for the h4 mag i have just noticed the last owner has put number one lead going to the rear spark plug not the front plug near the radiator it was sparking but don't think there is now the points must be to close together or it could be the switch on steering column any help appreciated
For Original Mag set up, .013 is the proper gap. on Points. My advice is to start from the begining... remove and clean all the Plugs, Gap them Properly, make SURE the plug wires are on properly. #1 is closest to the Radiator . Firing order is 1342 from Front to back. Cut off switch may get stuck and ground the mag at times but NOT common. You Test it you can simply disconnect the wire at the Mag and when the tractor is running connect it to see if the tractor shuts down.... When You are Done, Mark the Wires so You will NOT reconnect then wrong by accident. I have posted several vids on this subject... Good Luck

Hi, can you tell me if the # 1 piston is in the front of the engine? My dad is having trouble with the firing order..it says on engine 1342.so the #2 piston is in front ???????
This is a common Mistake... 1342 is the Order in which they FIRE...AKA...Firing Order... the Cylinders are in 1234 starting at the Radiator side, #1 and the Steering wheel side #4...take the Distributer cap off, crank the engine by hand or bump the key and watch the Rotor...when it points to #1 on the Cap, then attach the wires to the cap CLOCKWISE in the Order 1342. If You Don't know which one is #1..take the #1 plug out, place your thumb over the hole and crank the engine slowly until you feel the compression stroke push your thumb up . The Rotor is Now Pointing to #1... attach #1 Plug Wire to the corrosponding cap hole, then #3, #4 and #2... CLOCKWISE Direction. Hope this helps...Good Luck...if you need more help, just ask.
mechanically tractor sounds great.. I have a Magneto for you laying around if you are interested it's a direct replacement I will let it go for $50 and you pay shipping it's a hell of a deal
Thanks For Watching... My Magneto Problems Continued to Haunt Me and as you can see in later Videos, My Coil went bad inside the Mag and so I rigged a Exterior Coil to it, Basically Just Using the Mag as a Distributer... so my Problems are Over and she running Great.
That, whoot YEAH! when it started is the sound EVERY newly running tractor makes.

Why wouldn't you have just wired in a 6v coil?
Thanks, I'll check the wire.
