  • I rented a 2019 Jaguar F-Pace and it was a lot more fun than I had anticipated it being. After flooring it back and forth from Westchester to Albany, I came to the conclusion that I have to drive the V6 and V8 versions of this to really know how much I like Jaguar these days. I plan to get my hands on an F-Type as well, since, c’mon, who doesn’t want to give that little guy a go.
    As always, feedback is welcomed. I'm a RUclipsr in training, so go easy on me. Thanks for watching!

    I'm really liking your videos. I wish you made more. It reminds me of home a bit, being from Long Island. I think NYers are underrepresented in media or the accent is. Do some trucks.

      I wanted to get my hands on a Raptor, that always looked like a fun ride to review. I'm trying my best to turn out content but it's tricky with my schedule and the weather. I got some good cars coming up this summer though. Glad you dig the NY accent, I lean on it more for comedic purposes. NY misses you bro!

    This is the best video I came across for this car. Watched this and your one on the Mercedes GLC 300 which I was negotiating on at the dealership. Thanks to this, I was swayed on buying a 2019 F-Pace Prestige 30T Jaaaggg instead and haven’t regretted it.

      Altek, I drove the 6cyl before buying a 2020 30t Prestige. The S line’s 22 inch wheels were a bit rougher than the 19s and the 6cyl was too growling loud for me. Both great cars.

    • @Altek1

      I always think I like a loud and robust exhaust, until I'm on a highway. I bet that doesn't have the same drone of a typical aftermarket exhaust though. As for the rims, they can really kill the comfort of a ride, not to mention the cost of tires. Let me know if you drive the 8cyl next 😁 I appreciate the feedback!

    Don't spill any liquids in the center/shifter section. I can see that being a problem area especially being a family type big car. But I suppose if one has the money to buy one then they've got the dough to repair it. Thanks for the great video. Well put together. 👍

      Bro, thank you so much for saying that. I've been spending a lot of time on my next review and it's a comment like yours that makes the time and effort worth it. One of my Legends died so I've been using my Integra as a daily until I get my WRX back from the shop next week. I was considering selling the Integra if I don't have a proper place to store it. I'll keep you in the know.
      Thanks again and thanks for watching!

    I'm not big on that rotary shift knob either! And the interface with the screens sounds complicated and maybe inefficient. Still, the F-Pace looks nice! Keep up the good work!

    • @Altek1
      @Altek1  5 лет назад

      It was one of the better electronic shift knobs I've used but that's not saying much. The interface isn't bad compared to others but that's the problem, I'm learning to accept mediocrity when it comes to these things. All I want to do now is drive the V8, it's gotta be bonkers. Thanks for watching bud!

    Alex you’ve done it again! Happy Belated Easter brother, I just woke up and saw the video. I love how you’re cutting to the new scenes and the videos are getting better by the day.
    I appreciate you taking the time to make these videos man. It was awesome! My coworker has a Jaguar and I gotta say you’re right about it feeling fancy. His however has hidden ac vents and then when you turn the car on they turn around, I thought that was cool, but then I immediately thought what about them breaking overtime?
    He’s currently leasing it but won’t own the car so he doesn’t care about these things.
    Keep you the fantastic work bro, and have yourself a wonderful and safe weekend!
    Much love from Southern Cali.

      Steve! I've been meaning to respond to your previous comment but it's been hectic. As always I'm happy to see you in the comments and happy you enjoyed the video.
      Fancy is a good word for it indeed. I've seen the Jag with the vents and I thought the same thing! Hopefully they get stuck open when they do break since tiny motors and odd electronics always degrade over time. I've heard similar things from other people, "what do I care, I'm just leaving it".
      I already started planning my next video but it's going to be more of a story than a simple review. A friend has a 69 Charger General Lee replica car he built and it is a beauty. I drove it today and it was quite the experience.
      Trying to line up some other awesome cars for the summer, hopefully I have the time and the weather cooperates. I know you will but I got to say it, stay tuned bro! Hope the west coast is treating you well.

      That sounds like a great idea! Reviews or stories, as long as you’re talking about the cars it’s a good video in my opinion 😀.
      No worries about the delayed response bro, I got you! The West Coast is alright, today seems like a good day so we will make the best of it. Hope the East is good to you as well.
      Have a safe and wonderful rest of your weekend brother, and as always, enjoy!

    I own one of these, an 18' prestige trim, the 3.0L. Actually i just out my pulley upgrade/tune in. It's insane now at 455hp and 430 ft lbs, but it was no slouch before at 340hp 330ft lbs. Anyway, I watch reviews nightly, especially Jaggg and I really like your format and tempo. I wouldn't agree with you on the interior, even your upgraded lux pack on that one, but it's def quiet enough. Great stuff man!

    • @Altek1
      @Altek1  4 года назад +1

      Wow, 455hp is plenty for that car. I'm still dying to drive the F-Type after driving this, I think it's such a cool looking little ride. I'm glad you like my format, I kinda accidentally fell into it the more videos I put together and now I'm sticking with it. I'm curious, what did you disagree with about the interior? The layout? Thanks for watching bud, glad you enjoyed it.

    • @timk.537
      @timk.537 4 года назад +1

      @@Altek1 hey, I disagreed with how you describe the interior as fl'favourable fit and finsh' and build quality.. The #1 complaint on the F-pace, irrespective of trim level and the forumn or medium you're acquiring that info, is the interior quality. It makes rattle noises and can sound a bit mid or low budget even. There is way too much hard plastic everywhere. On a 70k car you expect the door to have a decent "thud" when you close it, this does not. Although I bought the premium 830w Meridian system, due to the cheap non-sound deadening properties of the plastics, the chamber of the F-pace makes that system (which sounds great in a Range Rover) sound meh..
      Although I tend to like minimilistc design language, the interior actually sucks ass. The new F-pace, (2021) is supposed to have a very updated interior (like the XE) which will absutley assist this worldwide gripe.

    • @Altek1
      @Altek1  4 года назад +1

      I definitely see your point there. I was looking at it from the price point of around 50k and I was accidentally directly comparing in my mind it to the Mercedes GLC I reviewed previously. Compared to that, I thought it was an upgrade but once you get to the 70-80k range, yeah, it's definitely falling short. This was also new with very few miles on it, I'm assuming the lack of miles helped. You're an owner though, and if anyone would know, it's someone who drives it everyday. But that power has to be proper fun regardless of its drawbacks.

    @ninjamaster3453 5 лет назад +2

    Great review. Nice balanced opinions. On some car reviews they go too tech heavy with the center dash being half the review. But you got it right.
    Can't imagine getting a 4cyl turbo on a big truck like that. How do you feel about that approach on large suv and trucks pushing small turbos to the max?

    • @Altek1
      @Altek1  5 лет назад

      I really could have spent 20 minutes on that infotainment center but to me it should never be the showcase of the car unless it's abysmal like in the GLC Mercedes I reviewed last. But thank you, I'm good you felt it was well balanced.
      I always knocked larger cars, and even cars like the Mustang, for using 4cyl engines but they really manage to squeeze every bit of power out of them while still being decent on gas. I know there's a less powerful 4cyl on the base F-Pace which I imagine makes the car feel like a drag. At least I wasn't struggling to merge onto a parkway and in the case of this car, it makes it relatively cheap to get into one. Overall I think it really depends on the car and the application you're going for, not a letdown in this instance though.

      Hah best question ever. I believe I mention and possibly show it in the video. You have to go to the menu in the digital display, go to the air con settings there and turn it off. Don't feel bad, it's not intuitive at all.

    I ain't no mechanic whatsoever but I think that a " turboed" small engine will break down faster than a bigger engine under similar conditions... Thoughts?

    • @Altek1
      @Altek1  5 лет назад +1

      If we take out all other variables like in the case of my WRX where they used faulty materials for the connecting rods, then I'd have to agree. I'd trust a properly built naturally aspirated V6 or V8 than a 4cyl pushed to the max with a turbo. However, the feeling of that turbo kicking in on a small engine is pretty badass, so I'm on the fence here, haha. Good to hear you chime in bro!

      You'll lose a few amenities going down to a Premium model. Xenon headlights, adaptive cruise control and leather seats would be the biggest loses. It's stuff I could live without so the Premium would still be a nice choice, but for the extra $4k, you get a good amount of extras. Hope that helps!
