    Sadly, I don't live in the UK to visit your store in person, but I watch your channel a lot when in need of expert and unbiased reviews on the latest high-quality gear. Chris, thank you for your hard work over these years. You are a legend!

    After sliding down the road at 50mph in my old rukka ill choose a higher safety rating than a bit of comfort and the voyager r is perfectly comfortable

    Just been on the Rukka website, none of the jackets on this video are on there, has their line-up changed already or is there a UK specific range/website?

    Got myself a rukka suit in 2015 and have used it for a lot of milea thru some terrible weather, month of so ago thought it was a time for new suit after looking.at the rukka didn't think it matched the quality & features of my 2015 suit, so i went for stadler combo

    Sensational presentation, thank you. I live in Australia but have several tours booked next year including Tasmania, India and Peru. Given it’s usually pretty warm Down Under, what would you recommend as a base jacket that I can add to when on a colder tour?

    Personally I feel that Rukka is just a bit to expensive for what you get in the package. They produce good products, YES! However if you compare it to Stadler who are basicly around the same pricepoint the price is just not fully justified anymore. Quality, Warranty, Fit (immens amount of sizes!!) & Services from Stadler are just superior at almost the same price.

    One to add: I’ve got the Aramen some years ago. Contrary to the website, it’s not fully windproof, especially at the arms, so it gets uncomfortably cold after 1h at below 20C. In hot conditions, I’d wish it had more vents, especially at the breast and lower arms.
    But, let’s say between 20C and 28C I love it 😊 It’s definitely waterproof (tested in pouring rain for 2h+).

    Great video Chris & Team, well done and thanks for sharing!! Would it be possible to do 1 video with the same format for Klim? Thanks. 👍👍

    Chris makes a great point about armour size, and Rukka gets it right. However, the size of your knee armour doesn’t matter when sliding down the road on your backside. Abrasion resistance can save your arse.
    Also, the video is wrong to claim the CE rating (EN 17092) is merely an abrasion test - it tests for various vital factors, not least seam burst strength and tear resistance. These things matter, as I know from witnessing a mate's high-priced Nivala shred in a low-speed spill 🤕

    I was wearing KLIM, but didn’t like the fact that it had no internal shell. I ended up selling the pant to a very fortunate individual and bought pants from RUUKA with a shell included. They were expensive, but I absolutely love this brand. I still wear my KLIM jacket ans living in Arizona weather is mild in thru get, unless heading to Flagstaff, AZ where it gets colder. Great review on RUUKA👍👍 I also find that the pants leg is not as baggy as KLIM.

    Good review of the Rukka gear, but I have to make comment as you do about laminated jackets are not for the serious adventurer rider, that they are too hot off road. I have both Rukka & Klim gear. Here in Australia when it gets to 30-40 degrees Celsius, I can still wear my Badlands suit and just wear a t-shirt underneath. Just last week, it was 23|25 degrees, then started raining for the next 2 hours, I didn’t get wet, didn’t have to stop and remove the waterproof layer to put over the outside of the jacket like you suggest for a “proper adventure jacket “. The next day it was 30 degrees, so I just opened up the many vents and stayed cool. Never had an issue in 8 years.
    To say those who want to look the part will buy a laminated jacket but then only ride mostly on the road is so wrong. Who can afford to have suits for all seasons? One suit to do all, it may not be possible, but I have to disagree a laminated jacket isn’t made for adventure riding…whatever that is…the definition in itself is what one makes of their adventure, will be different to the next person.

    Interesting overview of the Rukka range but I fall in the category that you mention at the beginning of the video.
    Weekends , pretty much all year round other than very bad weather and one or two euro tours a year.
    One I’m considering subject to fit, is the Lindsrands Sunne.
    What would your recommendation be? ( obviously providing the fit was right)

    Chris, I bought a Rukka Comfo-R jacket and trousers from you today……wonderful product and very comfortable. Not that I need to wash them for some while but having read all the documentation I can find the best info I can find is to use a little liquid detergent in a light machine wash. What would you recommend?

    • @Motolegends
      @Motolegends  Год назад +1

      I recommend not using any detergent, because this will damage the membrane and the taping, and the garment won’t remain waterproof. Use Nikwax or Storm, and re-proof. That is if it’s not too late already! CP

    Chris, this is a great comprehensive video of the Rukka clothing.
    However the comments you make at 9:14 about the Nivala being the preferred choice of every police rider is simply not true and misleading to your viewers.
    I would encourage viewers that believe this statement to talk to any police rider they encounter (BikeSafe is a great opportunity to talk to and learn from your local police riders) and to look at the products specially made for the police by BKS, including a full textile suit.
    Also to take a look at Bennetts Bikesocial video with BKS where they discuss making some of the safest motorcycle clothing in the world, very informative, even if you're not in the market for new clothing.
    This isn't a pop at you Chris, the rest of the video is superb and showcases the Rukka range very well, but making such broad sweeping statements on such a platform is breeding misinformation that is simply untrue and unproven.

    • @The-Splat
      @The-Splat 11 месяцев назад

      Indeed. Considering Rukka Nivala 2 and Kingsley prices are similar to BKS Made-to-Measure textiles, it’s hard to make an argument for Rukka.
