    I set out on a 200 mile round trip for my first visit to Motolegends, I went with a particular aim of purchasing a pair of riding jeans.
    I was first greeted and looked after by a lovey lady, supplied with a perfect coffee and biscuit. We discussed my needs, nothing was too much trouble, I usually have difficulty with jeans in general so I like to try them on rather than just ordering online.
    I had in mind the Rokker Legend Straight jeans and these in 32/30 fitted perfectly, fit and finish is superb.
    I also took the chance to try on a few jackets to get my sizing correct.
    In the age where high street shops are closing down and moving online only, the one to one service from Motorlegends is truly first class, long may they continue as I shall be returning again.

    Very interesting video. With respect to gloves, for street riding the most injury. Prone portion of the hand is along the outside edge of the hand because they hand gets smacked down onto the street and that’s where you want your protection. The knuckles are not nearly as injury prone.

    Biking since 1977, reborn after a 44 year hiatus (with a collection of 2 wheeler investments now) since 2019. I reckon I have spent 5 grand at least at Motolegends on mine and my lads gear. I'm 62 so I need "Best". Summer. Winter. Comms. Lid.. etc. I never go ANYWHERE else for advice, or to buy my gear. My head is an odd shape and my first and second lids (AGV and Schuberth) gave me headaches. Chris (and Sean) against their initial thoughts on my cranium shape, ended up supplying me with a lid they never expected would fit me (Neotec II), and tailored it with inserts and oh man - it is the Dee's Bee's. Same with my Scott's. Same with my Belstaffs (Trialmaster and Mojave). Same with my Richa gloves, and Stadler suit and Marrakesh jacket. NOBODY else in this country is so professional, expert, or caring. in getting you the best item for YOU and your needs - not their bottom line. I drive 2 hours each way when I need gear.

    Glad to see so many Held items here. They put out some real fine gear, often overlooked by the overseas reviews, but bang for Euros it's often hard to beat. Sure I have some fancy, smart looking sunny sunday gear, yet when it comes to serious commuting spring to autumn, Held is what I tend to ride in.

    I have worn the Klim Outlander GTX boots for over a year, probably close to 10K miles.
    Very comfortable on and off the bike, love the Boa system.
    But be aware that during a good rain your feet will get wet. Water resistant, not waterproof.
    Also, since I use very much off-road pegs on all my bikes and like to step on from the left footpeg, my left sole, already thin for comfort is wearing out extremely fast and I might have to buy new boots soon.
    But boy they are comfy to ride and just walk or hike around.

    Great video Chris and can’t argue with any of the logic in those items you have chosen. Sure some will have a preference but having been a customer of ML for years know how knowledgeable and understanding you are. The passion you exude is fact and experience based and so I will always take your views seriously. The video did end with no link buttons but that’s probably just a temporary thing. Great summary. It's worth saying that Shoei and Arai have different shell shapes and so suit different heads, and you're generally one or the other. In my experience, you can hanker after a Neotec all you want, but an Arai head will be uncomfortable in one despite changing internal pads etc. to try and relieve the pressure points. And vice versa.

  • @williamb.6918
    @williamb.6918 8 месяцев назад

    This is a truly exceptional best of video. The information is clearly presented and a sufficient amount of detail is provided to understand what qualified a particular product as best of category. As a very particular SOB that owns several pieces of gear referenced here I can say that it reflect my personal experience with these products as well. I also like that it focuses on best overall, rather than just trying to be a "best of this year" which always seems more like a marketing play to push new gear.

    Nice review of your favorites! I wish there was a shop like this in the states. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bulk of American motorcycle riders either ride a Harley with no gear, or a sport bike with just a helmet. When people are talking to others, they usually face them, not keep looking somewhere else.

    On both my flip up older Shoei and a more recent detachable chin piece helmet the most source of noise is from the visor itself, easily proven by resting a finger on a few spots on the visor during a ride. Helmets are just noisy, hearing damaging so.

    The Shoei Neotech 3 is arguably the right up there with the Schuberth C5, the no. 1 flip helmet. Tech wise they are neck & neck, but the engineering of the visor movement goes to Schuberth. In my case, what drives the Schuberth to the win is the integrated design of Sena comms that adds to the quiet design. Neither will leave you wandering, but the total "package" must to Schuberth.

    • @Motolegends
      @Motolegends  8 месяцев назад +1

      We are doing a video about the two, but the fact that the Neotec comes in three shell sizes, and not two, puts it in a different league to the Schuberth. Don’t really understand the comms. thing as both are fully integrated. The ability to custom fit the Shoei is also way ahead of the Schuberth system, especially as you can only custom fit three out of the six sizes with the Schuberth. The new PFS service from Shoei will also push things further in the Shoei’s favour. Remember one thing. We are working on a large sample base. These aren’t my feelings. Our views are based on the feedback we get daily from customers; and as we are the UK’s largest seller of both helmets that probably gives our views some weight. CP

    • @wiwwee1
      @wiwwee1 8 месяцев назад

      Have you tried the HJC RPHA 91 ?
      Shoei has a slightly better interior material feel, but the HJC is damn nice and fits me perfectly.
      The way the chin bar tucks real close to the helmet when open is a nice feature.
      Adjustable sun visor as well.
      It is also lighter and more quiet than the Shoei or Schuberth although that can vary depending on personal fitment.
      The Shoei NXR 2 with the additional Photocromatic visor is my favorite helmet over all.

    • @barrytriumph6620
      @barrytriumph6620 8 месяцев назад +1

      I have the c5. Got it to replace my Neotec 2. The visor issue, of it dropping at 30 mph, shows a lack of real world testing. Shoei win hands down.

  • @flippy66
    @flippy66 8 месяцев назад +1

    The X5 is noticeably wider than the X4, which attests to meeting 22.06. Still no sun visor though, and eye wateringly expensive for very diminishing returns - Is it 2x better than the Scorpion ADF which is priced at just over £300? I don't think so.

  • @thewoodster8607

    Unfortunately, things have changed with Daytona. Whilst they will repair the boots and resole them still, they will not guarantee that the waterproof liner will keep its integrity. Therefore, for resoling and a new liner costs £250 plus VAT and can take 12 weeks, plus postage etc. I'm considering just getting another pair.

    For 2024 they need to invent a completely new way of protecting the rider. Impact is what kills the rider so.... create a live matrix organic reactive moveable armour that isnt static but reacts by multiplying its armour on top of another armour continuing to overlap one another until the impact is over.
    Gone are the days of static armour, it needs to be literally moving to overlap another material in reponse to impact. I'm not talking about D30 thats old, im talking about a matrix reactive like alive organic material that literally physcally moves to overlap.

    All your videos begin with a clip of bikers riding on the right side of the road. I thought UK riders (and drivers) had to ride and drive on the left side. What's up?

    For the Scott Ergo Pro's, which size do you get to match a Size Large Marrakesh and 34/36 Marrakesh pant?

    Don't buy the Klim outlander boot, I've had two different pairs and within the first two months the leather at the toe split wide open on both of them. They were comfortable for about 4 months then uncomfortable forever after. The boa system was nice until it broke 6 months after I bought the boot, both of them. Will never own anything from klim again

    Let's get one thing perfectly clear about Gore-Tex and other similar Expanded Teflon and other chemically derived type coatings. At any given time, they are all EITHER Waterproof, OR Breathable, but they can NEVER be both at the same time. That's why a separate waterproof outer garment is best. Ryan F9 over at the Fort Nine RUclips channel has proven it for all motorcyclists to see with his video "Gore-Tex is a Marketing Gimmick" : ruclips.net/video/GGEzJJYiROk/видео.html

      Yes, there’s an element of truth to that, but not sure that this should have come as a surprise to anybody who understood how membranes work. Yet it’s still not totally true, and I have participated in experiments at Gore that have shown that a GTX membrane will still breather better than other membranes even when totally submerged in water.
      But none of Ryan’s ranting negates the fact that Gore’s breathability and waterproofing scores are in a different league to anybody else’s. Nor that Gore is the only company to guarantee its membranes for life.
      Given this, to suggest that Gore-Tex is a rip-off is a nonsense. It’s bloody brilliant stuff!
