Beautiful series. I loved the lady who told you that the blankets were all handmade and not imported from china. Nice to see she took the time with you. It's probably a sales ploy but definitely a very nice lady. The food was cheap. Beautiful views from the bar and no hiked price for tourists either. Another great vlog and series. I really enjoyed this, especially with the lactating fountain. It's strange that the colonial buildings are left to crumble. You certainly got a lot of food for your money. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this place to us my friend 👍💞 beautiful place 😍 and the store a lot of choices ❤️ Thier stuff colorful and nice discount my friend 👍 and you can speak Thier language too👍💞
Beautiful accomodation. It is indeed amazing view. You are so fluent in Spanish. My grandma is fluent in Spanish, she used to teach me but that was a long time ago. I can only say a few basic now. Beautiful place. Awesome statue. Beautiful iconic view. Looks so delicious breakfast. Love the blanket. Thank you so much for sharing. I really enjoyed watching it. Have a great day. Warm greetings Amie🇳🇿
Very intresting video. Love the coloful market, the lady was selling some fantastic blanket. Enjoyed watching it very much 👌👌👌 Great sharing and enjoy the rest of your trip👍😊
Loving these hotel / accommodation tours in your vlogs! Pound Sterling definitely goes a long way it seems. I would have been tempted to just chill out with a book in that courtyard or rooftop but when us vloggers have a sunny day (or some sunshine on a rainy day) we need to use it! The colourful colonial buildings, cobblestone streets and of course the markets are genuinely beautiful - I could stroll there for hours, even with my limited / non-existent Spanish. Thanks for showing me a part of the world that is on my bucket list!
Yeah, most of Central America apart from Costa Rica are very good value I believe. Haha I did spend plenty of time overall on that rooftop pondering life 😅 honestly you don't really need Spanish in Antigua, I just like to get chance to practice it when I can! Hope you get to go someday, cheers 🤠😎
Hey Matt the view from that bar was exceptional 😊🙌🤩🏔 But what a cracking vlog great vibe and the interactions (really made it special 😊)the lady selling the woven items definitely a star in the making 👍 Another top draw video m8t (really was 🙌) Best wishes Simon 😊🙏🏼
Cheers Simon! Yeah she was a nice woman! Patient as well 🤣 cheers for the feedback mate I've never really involved other people in the vlogs until this trip so might start doing so from now on 😁
This was such a fun tour! I feel like I walked the streets with you. The breakfast place had a huge assortment and it was fun watching the interaction with the lady selling the blankets. Love how they have such helpful suggestions - roll it up for the flight home. 😁 Beautiful handiwork! The lunch tacos looked great, too.
Great video on Antigua! It was so nice to see footage after not having been there for so long. On two trips, I spent about a year there. The structure of the city looks the same. The indigena back then almost spoke no Spanish. Most of the restaurants were then around the square. It looks to have expanded. Antigua then was fairly safe except for the park you went to in the beginning. There were a lot of robberies there. There was little variety in food back then beyond Guatemalan. Should you have a chance I, Rigaberta Menchu is a fascinating read of how the Indigena were treated. I think it was published in 1983 and she won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992 for it. When I was there the military was slaughtering villages left and right.
Thank you! It's awful how the indigena have been treated, not just in Guatemala but all over the Americas. Antigua now is hugely touristy and most people in the service industry speak English as well as Spanish. Wow, I just read about the author, Rigaberta Menchú, and will certainly look out for that book.
Thanks for the tour of Antigua, I prefer travelling out of season as I prefer less people. The weather gods do their thing and being British your used to the rain.
Cheers JB! Totally agree! Other tourists do my head in 🤣 in Taormina now and it's packed with people, I'm getting up at 6am when they're all in bed to have a wander round, early night for me tonight after 3 days in the mountains 🥱
I loved this video, where you being a tourist and flirting with the natives, made a change from the usual hiking and stuffing your face every 5 minutes, loved you could speak their language and the fact they managed to make you spend a fortune whilst charming you, they have the right idea of fleecing people 🤣
@@no_soy_rubio yeah but not through the whole video 🤣 thought the comradery and banter between you and the lady speaking in Spanish was pretty sweet, and you are a pro at bartering, even though the next shop assistant wasn't having it 😂
@@mickalussharman3158 yeah the 2nd one wasn't having it at all was she! I then came to my senses and realised I was bartering over about a quid, can't even buy a pasty at Greggs with that 🤣🤣
The hotel looked pleasant enough and I did like the courtyards and view. Your shopping trip was also interesting to see. The town looks great to explore and a lively place to enjoy the evening. Shame that the area was less safe by night.
It is a nice city to explore and actually very safe even by European/North American standards let alone Latin American. I think there was a part where I said 'this is dangerous for me', to clarify I mean it's dangerous for me to walk past the nightlife as I'd be tempted to join, and I had a volcano to climb the following day 😅 thanks for watching, happy travels 😁

Hello mate. I came across your channel because I'm thinking of spending a week in Guatemala after a work trip to Houston in the spring, so this is really useful. But then I started to binge watch some of your other videos and came across the video you did with Willie (been subscribed to his channel for a while) where he took you to the South African restaurant in Brighton, so now I've got something to do next weekend, that food looked good!! I live about a 40 minute drive from Brighton and go there often, in fact I always park just down the road from that restaurant! 😊
Nice one Andy! I'd definitely recommend Guatemala, if you're OK with hiking I'd recommend doing Acatenango and a bit of time on Lake Atitlán as well! You only really need a couple of days in Antigua. Enjoy the bunny chow, it's bloody delicious!
Man, what a trip! Even the start through from the hotel already gave off a relaxing vibe. Saw your ig stories and was quite looking forward towards the vlogs 😁 you always go to the most interesting places hahaha the colors, architecture, walk in the forest, and the food you had looked so delicious, with free refill coffee. Glad u had a blast buddy.

That is cool I am thinking of maybe going next to Guatemala or another Central American country so that gives a very cool overview of the place and very authentic as how it actually feels like to travel
Thanks dude! I went to Guatemala again this month, El Salvador too. Both great for travel. El Salvador especially is really easy to talk to locals and it's really safe there now too. But Guatemala has the most amazing sights. Acatenango, Atitlan and Antigua are all close together, then Petén, Xela and other places in other regions. I flew from CDMX to Guatemala for around $200 return I think
@@no_soy_rubio Great tips! Maybe for my types of videos El Salvador would sound like a really good option! Are you often passing by CDMX? Because I live there!
