      Absolutely! That’s such a great analogy-just like a car needs regular maintenance to run smoothly, our bodies need consistent care to stay healthy and balanced. Chronic and degenerative issues often develop when those little "check engine lights" get ignored over time.
      The good news is, just like with a car, regular movement, mindfulness, and intentional practices can keep everything running smoothly-or even reverse some wear and tear! Thanks for sharing your insight 🙏🚗 Keep up the good work!

    I feel such strong resistance to completely dropping the more "yang" type of exercises in my life.
    I know that you're right, and that to deal with this chronic hip pain requires gentleness, kindness, sensitivity and care. But I feel that I rely on harder training as a crutch to deal with this mad life.
    I will keep listening and adjusting, and will avoid any exercises that flare up pain. But I can't seem to just "let go" of all the harder stuff (weight lifting and gymnastic rings).
    I'm going to try compromise with my Ego: keep up some weight training that doesn't hurt, and expand and learn more about the somatic approach to healing.
    It's crazy to me how difficult it is to let go of hard training and I hope compromise is a sensible approach!

      Thank you for sharing this-I can deeply relate to what you’re experiencing. Years ago, I was in the same place, feeling that pull to keep up with intense, hard training as a way of grounding myself. The idea of letting go of that “yang” approach was unsettling, like losing a part of my identity. But over time, I started to realize that I wasn’t really letting go of strength-I was just learning to express it in a new way.
      I remember compromising, too, by keeping up some strength work that felt good and didn’t cause pain, while slowly opening myself to gentler, more somatic practices. It was surprising to discover that this approach didn’t weaken me; in fact, it made me feel more resilient and connected, both in body and mind.
      As you keep listening and adjusting, trust that you’re still on a strong path-one that honors where you’re at and allows you to evolve. I’m here to support you however I can on this journey.
