Originally, I liked the t-shirt as it was first sewn, but with the design it is really stunning. Your sewing ability, artistic thinking and attitude are delightful!
Thank you Jan and Jacq, I love it with the graphic even more! :) and I added that little phrase "creativity over fear" on the very bottom on the back of the shirt, just for myself, as a reminder :)
I love your ability to visualise clothes from extra leftovers. For the first t-shirt I would bind the bottom with green. Would finish the edge and tie the green into the whole garment. .
Thank you! It feels very comfy, as the body is nice and sturdy due to denim, but the sleeves are made of ribbing and the hood from knit, so those parts are nice and soft. I remember when I was a kid - jean jackets always made it hard to move my arms, so I think this could be a good solution :)
Your daughter's jacket and shorts are stellar! Very cute and I like the color-blocking of them! Your green and white top is amazing!!!!! 5-star makes! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lovely Alisa...I bet you go a couple of 'happy dances' from your little one on the garments you made for her. Beautiful job. Yes, your 'color-blocked' t-shirt original was amazing but the final version 'hit it out of the park'...again.
I love the green t-shirt!! It’s perfect as is. Artemis is the fashionista of her time. Thanks mom. I bet the little girls in her class just wait to see what she is wearing every day. I was one of the older moms when my daughter was that age. Most would dress their little girl very traditionally. Not me!! She’s a brunette so she could wear any color but red looked best. (I dressed my red head son in neon green. It’s his favorite color now).
Ah, thanks! That's one of my old watercolor paintings - I thought the geometric design was very fitting with a theme :) he he, thank you so much for watch :)
I really loved that green/floral and white shirt, I truly wish you would have show the entire process in this video. Perhaps you could make a full length video of the entire process from the bodice block to the end.
Omg those shorts 😂 I’ve done the same thing! You can’t EVER unsee it! Great save making a jacket for your daughter. The pattern matching up the front is spot on.
The last video I watched, Vivsews, showed a pair of pants she thought would look awful then she loved them. I think we all sew things we have grave doubts about, then after the finishing touches, we love them.
I think you are so creative. Making a tee-shirt out of scraps, who should have thought it possible. The jacket for your daughter is great. Better than store bought. She probably has the best wardrobe in her school. I was going to vote to leave the tee shirt plain, but it looks ok with the center design, although as you can tell, I liked the first version the best. Thanks for taking us along as you create clothing designs. Extremely well done. 5 Stars.
I love the T-shirt. I like the way your design added pizazz to a white t-shirt. My default is solid colors and I am always looking for ways to add a pop of color for interest. I did chuckle with empathy over your shorts. Good save though. The jacket came out very cute. I have been sewing my own underwear for the last year. It has been a journey. But the comfort can't be beat. You are right. They need a lot more negative ease than you would ever think. Mood has a few free bralette patterns. I use their Bay swimsuit pattern and it works well.
That first shirt is so lovely... I enjoy the pop of bright green of that trim. You are inspiring me to open my scrap bins and look at the options for inspiration. Oh I've done something similar with pattern oopsies made me giggle thinking of how these happen and you definitely can't unsee them
You are so clever. All the projects are lovely! And yes, your daughter is not the only one crazy about pockets. Mine are too. EVERY single short or pant needs pocket! 😂
I love the fact that you make something out of other things! Its so much fun wearing something and thinking.... this shirt used to be shorts or this jacket used to be a dress! LOVE THAT! I also make things out of other things.... but not garments! I am so intimidated to make garments!....Your videos are so original and give my imagination so much to work with! Thank you so much for such happy and inspiring videos!
The insert you showed @4:24 is exactly what I needed for inspiration to sort out how to combine two different tones of black fabric for an upcoming project 🤩 I have a textured back knit I wanted for the raglan sleeve and a solid black sweatshirt fleece for the body but one is a warm black and the other is a cool black. If I do a white piping as a style line between them no one will ever notice that they don't quite match! YOU'VE SAVED MY PROJECT! ❣
I love all this inspiration! I bought a dress once with an awkward pattern placement like that, I ended up returning it because I couldn't unsee it haha.
Wonderful video. Each and every make was creative and well thought out. Your daughters shorts are just delightful. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
Wow I haven't seen the finished shirt yet but I had to comment! The shirt is just stunning! It looks like a glass window! I just love it! Well Done!!!!💜
The shorts you made for yourself, I have made a similar mistake with a pattern detail showing up in a very unwanted area. Glad to see I am not the only one who makes those mistakes! The jacket for your daughter is adorable. Great video!
Hello there, Patti! Yeah, the shorts where nowhere near to being finished, so I was glad to catch it before I put in the zip, pockets and a waistband! :).I think we have all been there :)
The first shirt looks super expensive, and it’s thrifty i mean 🤩🤩🤩 watching your process is fun and I love the way you explain things, your kiddo is lucky for more than just a dream wardrobe 😊
Hello Alisa. This top reminds me of that book “Something from Nothing”. Have you ever read that book? It’s about a Grampa who sews and makes a blanket and as it wears he remakes it over and over until it’s just a beautiful button. It’s such a good book. I really like the top. It’s so springy and fresh. 😊. These videos are so fascinating to watch.
Christine, hello there, I just looked up the book - it looks lovely and wise! Very true - as long as we can make what we need from what we have - we can make it work! I tell Artemis all the time - "make it work with what you have at the moment" and the things that kids come up with are so fun and the stories that come with it - oh boy :) how are your shoes coming along? I might be making another pair this year, but will see! It is fascinating what our hands can do and the things that we can create. Thank you so, so much! Oh... wanted to ask, did the book ever arrive? (it was wrapped in a Christmas gift wrap)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity yes ma’am. I loved it. There will be a parcel there in three or four more days. I totally missed Christmas 😩 but I got Valentine’s Day. 😘
My gosh Alisa, you are so relatable, "super extra special fabric scraps" 😄 sounds just like me. I'm having hard time to throw away most of my scraps, because most of them are special to me ☺️ unless I'm mad. Then I throw away everything.
Yes, he he... I hear you, I am the same way. In my mind I think "I can't throw this away, I can certainly make something from this... One day.... 10 years later" lol 😆 but I have found another way to part with my scarps (those that I know I won't use) - I give them to my daughters pre-school and they do crafts with them.
Love the top at the end! Was thinking something fussy would not look great, but your single line flower is perfect for the top! Loved it before (without), love it now!
Amazing skills! I know you keep saying “If I can do it, then you can do it” but there is no way I could have added the beautiful botanical design in the front of your shirt without messing up everything else. For the awkward looking shorts 😂 I was pretty sure you were going to make two symmetrical pairs (if that makes sense) with two different fabrics in the front and the back - I think you made something similar for your husband. But I was wrong! Making your daughter a jacket was a good idea. Thank you for your positive attitude, your inspiration and your honest videos!
You are a genius when it comes to putting colors together. I love all the clothes you create. Thank you for sharing your genius ideas with us. God bless.
I have just found you and am loving it. I have always been a recycler/upcycler, especially with sewing.I remember staying with a high school friend in the 70s. She was the youngest of 12. Her mom was taking a shirt apart and redid it for my friend. She was embarrassed that I saw this, but I was fascinated and loved that shirt. Do you ever do an episodes where we could send you a picture of an item and you voice ideas how to redo or improve it? I have one that I feel looks a little “old lady” and it is a J Jill, so great quality and would feel that it needs tweak.
Your tee shirt with the graphic is beautiful! 🥰 I’m not ordinarily a graphics person because I think of the “old days” of big, in your face prints. I absolutely LOVE the classy lines of yours!
You are really good. All projects are fabulous. ❤❤. My mom sews also and that’s all she is doing these days, making clothes from scraps for the great grandkids. ❤
I loved the white t with the pieced print and lime green framing the way it was. The top portion with the lovely print is like stained glass. I didn't think it needed a graphic. However, what you showed at the end really did set it off and drew the eye upward and made it even better! I love how you shared your story of your diamond print matching and missing the larger picture. Its good to know I'm not the only one who does such things!
Your ideas and upcycles are just adorable and I would never guessed you designed these super cute pieces. That cute sporty top was adorable before the addition. Honestly thought it looked cute without the design, but seeing the final outcome sent it over the top cute.
I LOVE the graphic on the finished garment! For me, I might have done a small graphic on the back right shoulder. (I have short hair so it would show for me.) BIG fan of your channel!
Polished & sophisticated with just the contrasting yoke & sleeves. Center graphic will add more casual feel. I’d go with as is & leave the center pristine white.
Just what I need to get my SewJo back. The spring/summer green & white top is adorable as is. Sometimes less is more. Thanks for being such a fantastic inspiration.
Yay, glad to help with you SewJo :) very true about less is more, but in this case I felt the white was too... bland for me, so I did add a graphic for myself, and I am so happy with how it turned out! :)

You are such an inspiration to me! Your creativity is matched by your skill. Just watching your videos keeps me trying to learn to sew. Thanks so much.
Its wonderful. Its almost sporty looking, like something you might see in a highb sportwear brand. I think its nice, clean and fresh just the way it is! Perfect for spring!
I love the graphic on you top. I like the originality of your top on clothes you made for your daughter. Great scrap busters! Thank you for the great ideas!
I like the simplicity of the first look but they are both nice. I just think it takes a bit away from the way you combined the white and greens. I just discovered your channel a while ago and am loving it !
I think bfo rme the white was too "empty" but now that space is sort of filled and personally for me it is a double winner, but I can totally see where someone would like the "before" better. I think it is all good as long as you make things that you will love and wear! Thank you so much for watching!
Very inspiring video! I have a bag of old clothes that I wanted to throw away or donate but now I'm thinking about reuse them. Sewing with them can be a good creativity exercise too! Generally I don't like patchwork-style scraps projects but your ideas are really great. They look like "normal garment" ;) P.S. I'm just starting to sew and have been diving in this month, finishing about 10 projects so far. Your videos are so easy to follow and your designs are beautiful. I really appreciate the content you produce, how accessible and simple you make it seem. It is so encouraging 😁
I like the design as you have it. (green & white) T shirt. For me, if I added something to the middle, bottom or anywhere else on the white, it would take away from the top element. This way the top makes the statement. 😀
Originally, I liked the t-shirt as it was first sewn, but with the design it is really stunning. Your sewing ability, artistic thinking and attitude are delightful!
Same here. 👍
Thank you Jan and Jacq, I love it with the graphic even more! :) and I added that little phrase "creativity over fear" on the very bottom on the back of the shirt, just for myself, as a reminder :)

The jacket for your daughter that was made with several different fabrics, was not only adorable, but so creative! I was so impressed by that project.

The top looks great as you designed/sewed it.
Thank you, Gladys! 😊
Love your beautiful mind! Super great job!
Thank you so much!!
I laughed so hard about the V-pattern on the shorts that I accidentally snorted, hahaha. Oh gosh, I needed that.
I like the design as you have it. (green & white) T shirt. For me, if I added something to the middle, bottom or anywhere else on the white, it would take away from the top element. This way the top makes the statement. 😀
Да, истинное творчество начинается тогда, когда заканчиваются идеи.
добрый день, Netta :)
I love the shirt as you made it, beautiful!
Looks great, I would have made the neck rib in green too!
Good morning. One of a kind love it.
