    Loved it so much I subscribed! I just inherited my Mom's entire sewing studio, and she was doing things just like this. I am excited to carry on her legacy, and it is helping me to cope with her loss to be able to create with the things she didn't complete.

    I also make pouches about this same size. They sell well at my local flea market. Just a little tip, sew your button on before you line it. Looks so much cleaner and finishes nicely. I love your channel. Awesome projects to learn to make. Thank you so much.

    I like how you point out how hesitant you were as to where to place the strips. I would find that the hardest part so your advice to just go with it is really helpful. You've really brought out the beauty in Liberty fabric. Your pieces are so lovely.

    I have a thing about ironed dish towels. I iron all of mine. Adds to that feeling they are freshly laundered and because they are then ironed it shows a visible difference that they are fresh as opposed to full of wrinkles etc. don’t know why but I enjoy it. Easy ironing and at the same time satisfying 😂😂😂

    I have done something similar, but used sheer organza on top before stitching, then used some fun stitches (my machine has SO many that i rarely use). Then you don’t have to worry about pieces sticking up. I have also added some threads and other fun bits and bobs and it comes out so fun! Thanks for sharing- we all need ways to use up those scraps:)

You have so much patience ;) I'm a drawer, painter and journaler ... the first thing I thought when you were folding it getting ready to make the little clutch was it would be great for a pen/pencil holder ... with a two inch strip sewn on the length inside, beautiful ;) I used some natural canvas type material to make one, it's a little roughly made but it does the job ;) thanks for sharing !

    Very cute pouch and making your own fabric was very interesting! I have just one small suggestion on the ribbon closure. Since the ribbon will continually have tension on it by wrapping it around the button and because the sewing machine MAYBE put two stitches in such a narrow ribbon, I would tie a knot in the end that is inside the seam BEFORE stitching it. I do this exact thing and the tie lasts forever. Even it it doesn't come out, the ribbon can strip when tugging on it to tie around the button without the knot. Thanks for the tips on making the fabric "soup!"

    Hi Bridgette I so enjoyed your video and you have inspired me to do something similar. You mentioned that you had a video on how you made the button that you used and I would love to see that one too, however when I looked at all your videos I couldn’t see one for buttons.

      Hi Joyce, Sorry for the confusion. The buttons came from my paper bead video below. I am thinking of doing a video on buttons only. I need more... :)))

    I would have sewn the button on before the lining to keep the lining from puckering like that. I've made little scrappy bags and wristlets like this before and people really love them.

      Hi, thank you :) Vilene is a water soluble stabilizer that you can use to cover your scraps. You sew on top of it and then wash it out. You are left with a stitched piece.
      It is great to hold everything in place. Here is the link. amzn.to/3YbG6VJ

    Hi Brigitte. Love your creative, beautiful crazy sewing! :) How do you make the perfect little strips? My scraps are higgly-piggly mess of shapes.

    • @Reignvermont
      @Reignvermont  4 месяца назад

      Hi... these specific scraps came from mask making so I was cutting straight lines with templates. I got lucky! You could create strips with a rotary cutter and a ruler if you wanted to try without making yourself crazy. :)))

    Have you made any pieces using crumbs , and how did you quilt those pieces please . They are smaller pieces hence why I ask, love watching the bits you make. . Thank you for sharing. What did you use for the tie please.

    • @Reignvermont
      @Reignvermont  Месяц назад

      Hi…I have not made anything using crumbs. If I did, I think I would put the crumbs down and then place some organza over the top. Carefully pin it and then take it to my machine and stitch it. I hope this helps. Thanks you 💕

    • @karentoynton8948
      @karentoynton8948 Месяц назад

      Thank you, what would you place the crumbs onto as a base. I have managed to locate both the violins and organza thank goodness in the Uk, so can follow your ideas which I guess you mean as a top. I guess also quilting would need to be straight line to avoid any pieces being missed . Thank you for your help,snd coming back to me. Enjoy watching your ideas.

    • @Reignvermont
      @Reignvermont  Месяц назад

      Hi… I would use and light to medium weight fabric for the base. You could do straight line embroidery or free motion. The organza holds a lot of the scrap in. Also… the tie I used was a piece of 2mm silk embroidery thread. 😊

    Lovely tutorial. Can you please explain what violene (sp?) is? I couldn't really hear clearly and turned closed caption on and that is the word that came up for one of the examples. I live in a remote place where it is hard to get supplies but I have lots of muslin, so that might be the way to go for me, instead of the fusible thermolam. Thanks so much!

      Hi :)) Thanks for watching! The product is called Vilene but any water soluble stabilizer will work fine. I just happened to use this one. Solvy also makes a very good one. I hope this helps. Have fun :)

    What a great idea!! Do you have a good source for your Liberty of London? I have wanted to purchase it the past, but the prices were hard to take. I have a lot of cotton scraps but thin Liberty of London would make a much nicer 'fabric'.

    • @Reignvermont
      @Reignvermont  5 месяцев назад

      I know... Liberty is expensive. I buy it from Liberty directly and also this great place in Australia called The Strawberry Thief. Link below :) I think cotton scraps would work fine too :)))
