    Can you imagine someone being completely oblivious that the ride was redone and doesn't realize what's going on because they think they're riding top thrill one? I know someone's going to do it. 😅. And once went on a flat ride and didn't realize it went upside down until the ride started so I could see someone doing something like that.

    It is so incredible at night. My first 2 rides were "night rides" before sunrise. My next 3 were sunrise rides. Those are memories I'll never forget.
    If you consider queue length and dispatches, the line moves. I see them in the future adding queue/switchback, even temporary, before the lockers. Like a hybrid Steel Vengeance where lockers aren't buried in the structure.
    And lastly, I call the ejector "air-whip-time", the same reason as you mentioned plus the higher center of gravity on these trains, which also enhances that intamin shimmy in the track you mentioned, something that I always felt was there with the original.
    My reference point is 8 rides on the original, 10 rides on this, 9 of which were in 30-55 degree weather. Huge home run for CP and Zamperla.
    I'd love to see how much of a rattle or shimmy there is on a ground up Zamperla because the Zamperla track and structure is way less flexible than the original.
    Okay that is really the end of my comment 😂

    • @SuperFlashDriver
      @SuperFlashDriver 22 дня назад

      Yeah, but I do miss the original as I did ride it back in 2010. And man, hearing the motor rumbling, the announcer saying, "Arms Down! Head Back, And Hold On!" And at the very end of it, not many people know this but, there used to be a small building where it hid a speedometer near the tall 420 feet structure of the ride of how fast the train was going (heck, I've see the speedometer have the train go as fast a 124 miles per hour, while other times, nearly 118 miles per hour, giving viewers a good guess if the train was going to make it over or not, or the 1 percent rare case of getting stuck at the top of the coaster....plus you can't beat the fake wheels and fin on the back of the coaster, as well as the promo trailer/music form the first one. that was such a cool way to personalize the coasters, and the trailer for Top Thrill Dragster back in 2002/2003 in my opinion, is waaaay cooler and more exciting, compared to trailers nowadays. Nowadays, they feel corporate, vanilla, and not as exciting to look or ride as they used to back in the 2000s and before....And now, with Top Thrill Dragster 2/Top Thrill 2, I feel like as if there's so much white paint on the track, that it looks too similar to other coasters whom have used the red/white color scheme for the coaster, say Viper from Magic Mountain, Great American Scream Machine (Defunct now that was at Six Flags Great Adventure), and Formula Rossa at Saudi Arabia's Ferrari World....I don't know that's just me).
      If I ever do visit Cedar Point again, I'll give it a go. But it's always the launches and getting to the very top of the hills that are always the most exciting for me. The back structure of it is not really my favorite, limits the ability to see where you are in your surroundings but whatever.

    • @Davidvariance
      @Davidvariance 22 дня назад +1

      @@SuperFlashDriver its a combination of longing for nostalgia and ignorance to the current experience (not just the ride experience).. I was 1%er as you mentioned, 17 years ago. You ought to give it a try before investing your opinion so much in holding one iteration superior to the other.
      Don't judge something you haven't experienced, and don't waste time trying to compare if you know anything about sensory memory and recency bias. All you're doing is, at best, the same thing that human beings do to make someone feel like they're missing out on trying a drug. It's not advantageous to you or anyone else.
      You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but your opinion lacks the necessary background for it to differentiate from riders of the new iteration. No one isn't going to miss anything about the original except downtime.

    • @SuperFlashDriver
      @SuperFlashDriver 22 дня назад

      @@Davidvariance It's not really nostalgia, it's merely just by looking at it that I've seen many other coasters see the same thing. I don't know man, it's the aesthetics of the original that gave it a lot of character, and my drawn character is the interpretation of what it stood for. So for this one, it's merely just racing in general, and not just dragsters. I don't know, again, I'll have to give it a go, but it'll always be the launches and the top part of the hill that I always like. (Sighs) I don't miss it because I can always watch old videos of the ride if needed to and experience it that way.
      I mean, coming from a person that's loved building roller coasters since I was 5, and riding them since I was 14, Cedar Point would be the final park that I would enjoy up that I feel other theme parks can't compare. But again, that's just me. It'll be pretty difficult to convince me that this is a better ride than the original, I'm just saying.

    The biggest issue with the loose article policies is that every coaster is different. Can’t blame people for not knowing that they can bring stuffed animals onto iron dragon but can’t bring anything at all into tt2, while having to leave only shoes in the bins on valravn yet anything can go in the bins on maverick. Head spins just thinking about it and I go all the time.

    • @KICoasterGuy
      @KICoasterGuy  21 день назад +1

      Yeah at Kings Island Banshee opened 10 years ago and you still have people constantly being turned away at the entrance for having bags/fanny packs etc. You’ve hit the nail on the head because most people don’t go all the time like we do, they aren’t thinking about this stuff on the way to the park.

    • @KICoasterGuy
      @KICoasterGuy  15 дней назад

      @@whenisdinner2137 totally that’s not at all the issue. Loose articles should not be kept on this ride, 100%. My issues with this policy are as follows:
      A.) a ride with a loose article policy this restrictive (they specifically mention items like chap stick that shouldn’t be kept in pockets, even if they are secured with a zipper) should provide a free locker option just like SV in the same park.
      B.) not providing bins or something for people wearing shoes without a back is going to cause a lot of problems. Normally in cases like this (Banshee, Raptor) you can take off your slides or whatever, but not this ride. People are going to be stopped at that entrance for wearing the wrong shoes for years

      I don’t agree with this. If anything the current policy is going to blindside the GP more than anyone. You can’t take ANYTHING with you on this ride. Essentially everyone is carrying something on them be it their phone, wallet, car keys, whatever. People are going to get stopped before that ride entrance and be pissed they have to go buy a locker to ride. That’s not to even mention the people that are going to show up wearing athletic slides only to be told they just can’t ride TT2 at all unless they have a change of shoes.

    I just don't understand why huge attraction rides can't be "take a number" systems. Once the park's app knows you're at the park you can "register" a ride. It then gives you a show up at the line time. They ask you to get in line 15 mins before your ride. Your time keeps getting updated as unforeseen delays happen throughout the day. This a) forces you to have their app and b) makes the locker issue no longer a thing as only 15mins worth of riders will need to use them. This also helps the park keep guests roaming around the park where they might buy stuff. Everyone in line is a "stale" customer.

      @@mainframe1608 To be fair Lightning Rod had crazy reliability issues because of the launch, so slowing it down in that case might have been a means to try and improve reliability by making it not have to launch as quickly. Considering the MANY changes that ride went through to try and make the ride more reliable (before giving up on it and removing it for a fast lift hill), slowing down the launch feels like one of the changes to try and make the ride more reliable. The slowed down launch was the least of the problems with Lightning Rod if we're being honest here.
      Top Thrill 2 doesn't seem to have any major reliability issues so far, which considering how that was a frequent issue back when it was Dragster is a good thing. So it might not get slowed down, or if it does by not as much.

      Look at footage from TTD's media day and you'll see it going over the top hat as fast as it does now. By the end of 2003 they had extended the trains to 5 cars and slowed the speed down to a slow creep over the top.
      KK was probably built to go fast over the top to avoid rollbacks, as the drop has trims to limit the forces. But it goes over slowly like TTD did and has rumored to never hit 128 mph besides initial test runs.

Especially when some bins could be made or basically any other solution that could have easily been planned from the start in the case of a moderate to strict loose article policy, especially post-accident
    During media day, people had earrings, clip-on mics, single-ear in ears, etc. but i can't have a ziploc bag of my stuff in a zipped-closed pocket? Yeah, fight me CF.
    They're basically charging for the OTU fast pass and lockers to earn as much money as possible before backlash forces them to do away with it in favor of a better solution. Maverick is more intense with a less-strict policy and uses just good old bins in the station with a similar load/unload setup
    Heck, SteVen couldn't beat walmart velcro pockets with a ziploc in them and the hoodies we wore had LEDs with a AA battery pack and it couldn't take that out of the pockets. but now it ALSO has in-queue lockers.
