I don't know if you really can remake this into anything good. I don't think anything has been left unsaid, that would benefit from a modernization. I just hope its not as bad as 3, 4 and 5.
Whether or not people consciously realize the movie is about fear, I think it at least registers on some level. It's a film with multiple themes, but because it's a Christmas movie, people notice the family stuff more.

I absolutely love this analysis video, it shows light on things in the movie I never thought about, and talking about my favorite part of the home alone movies, the unlikely old friend, who ends up helping out at the end, fun stuff, your content seems to have been of the same great quality for these past 4 years

Agreed. I think part of it is the debate of how important artistic intent is. But all the fear stuff is in the text, so it still is part of the film.
