144 MPH Pursuit of Blacked-Out Dodge Charger

- PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS - From the report of Corporal Cleyton McDonald, lightly edited for clarity: "On October 3, 2019, at 10:41 p.m., I advised dispatch that I was in pursuit of a black Dodge Charger on Interstate 430 northbound at Rodney Parham. The Charger had been speeding, and made a sudden lane change from lane one across to lane three. I tried to read the vehicle's license plate but, never got close enough to see it.
I continue to pursue the vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 10. The operator of the Charger was driving erratically, swerving between lanes,, and had turned its headlights off.
The Charger continued to drive in that manner, running several red lights. At 10:44 p.m., I advised Pulaski County and Little Rock Police Department units in the area that I had lost sight of the vehicle at Highway 10 and Taylor Loop. No ASP vehicles were damaged in the pursuit."

I’ve never cheered for a Dodge Charger this much in my entire life.
I’m not a trooper but my agency does allow us to chase pretty aggressively. Even I would cancel myself from that early on though, when it gets to the point where you can’t maintain your lane and blow through red lights - you know you’re too emotionally invested in it. That’s how you get written up or you kill an innocent motorist over traffic violations. “If the juice ain’t worth the squeeze” are words to live by.
100%. Blowing red lights at 120 mph to chase someone for speeding is far from due regard. The danger to everyone, the officer included, is simply not worth it.

It's happened before.

100%.... would be a blast to chase. But so stupid
ASP has some of the best training in the USA right next to Alaska troopers. Their training is more like a military boot camp expierience and it much different than a police acadamy. That's why there policy allows them to do chases at high speeds and pit manuvers because they are the best of the best. Police here in arkansas are also well respected because they are an example of what police professionalism should be. Most of your high speed chases on this channel was actually ASP pursuits as well. Now I know I'm going down as a bootlicker here but I'm more a of the person wearing the boots as well and in my expierience, you want ASP to back you up because they are the best of the best.
i agree 100 percent, that cop should not run red lights at 120 mph.
@@dixsynormus2012 Don’t care how well you “believe” their training is this was beyond dangerous for no reason. I say believe because if they are being trained to blow through red lights at over 100 that’s not correct training. But I do respect when the trooper realized enough is enough hence why the trooper at the end decided to terminate the chase because we’ve seen plenty of situation where officers don’t know the limit.

Laugh, I mean if you've got a dirty car already I suppose but that's very much illegal. That said, if you're gonna do it in the first place then that's the method.
This man knows
Yeah my exact first thought was just that. He'd easily get away without break lights, it kept giving away his next turn

risky to keep pushing a blacked out driver. Someone is too likely to make a lane change resulting in a devastating crash
Lmao or the driver could hopefully crash and die and stop endangering everyone more than the cop
Yeah so just let people with no regard for others lives go free. Smart strategy.
@@animusadvertere3371 but with the cop chasing like this, that made 2 ppl with no regard for life on the road. U too dumb to see that? just because hes a cop doesnt mean his driving just as wrecklessly as the other guy safer

I'm honestly more surprised he was able to lose him on the streets rather than the highway considering flying though that many reds was incredibly risky.

Yo that cop was hustling through those lights had my heart racing thinking about how drivers turning out could be totally clueless even if your siren is on

It’s true. The cops are a danger to the public. It’s a combination of poor training and a disregard for safety.

Damn Hellcat is a beast after going lights out full night vision mode doing a buck 150 is next level GTA shit there.
I get the need to enforce the laws, but think this chase was way too risky. An innocent party could have been hit or killed at any any of those intersections. The police should have a protocol for all traffic stops to get close enough to read the license plate before the stop. Then if the person runs, you can cut off the chase and follow up later. I'm surprised that is not a standard operating procedure for all departments.
Every state has it’s own policies. I know where I live, police can’t pursue for speeding. It’s not a crime dangerous to life.
@@R1CKYB0BbY what state is this? lol.

The body cams should play live for surveillance to tell the officer when to calm down or back off and stuff like that. Would be very beneficial to both sides of the law
I thought the same thing…
130MPH on surface streets and 118MPH through a red light. This is textbook felony driving by cop. No justification for taking that many innocent lives for granted.
Cop needs to be held accountable
What if that man was wanted for murdering a family member of yours? Would you still be okay with the police cutting off the pursuit and letting him go? No, you’d go and bitch and moan about how the cops aren’t doing their jobs. Lol, cry baby ass.
Totally agree. Way to populated of an area of those speeds.

That’s why these clowns run. They need to be held accountable.

Interesting to watch but this cop should’ve been told to stop pursuit. Putting more people in danger than necessary

@@ikrazykhris928 yes obviously it’s his fault too, no fucking shit. Doesn’t mean the cop should have been blowing red lights at 110 too dummy

He called it off at the right time.
Cop only reported speed of 100 mph to dispatch
Man, if someone had turned through one of those intersections at the wrong moment, like a pickup truck towing a trailer, or a mom in a minivan, it would've been curtains for all involved. Also watching the officer dive into the inner lane and then back out on the slip road before the pursuit even began... This one seems a little aggressive to me for just a speeding ticket fella. He came *that* close to hitting that innocent on the offramp. exhilarating, but unnecessary.
@Ben David yes, but no need to further endanger others by giving chase
Are you an idiot? He’s not doing this for a speeding ticket. It would be “for a speeding ticket” if the guy immediately pulled over, but instead he demonstrated terribly a reckless driving and had to be gotten off the road and put in jail.
@Ben David not worth losing innocent people tho depending on state they would've called that pursuit off way sooner
@Ben David I get that, but what if it was someone you love who got blasted by some dummy running, or the police? Is it worth it to risk innocent lives to bring them to justice? I watched one (I think Milwaukee police) where the suspect car had a head on with another vehicle. Like 17yo kid minding his own business messed up for life. He ended up in critical condition just driving to his friends house. (I read the news report) I also read the Milwaukee Police policy on chases, and there were multiple violations.

Damn that cop is as dangerous as the Charger he was chasing. To be sure, suppose to de-escalate not engage in 140mph+ chase in dark... What was the crime again? a traffic violation? Glad nobody got killed.
No, when the guy turned off his lights it became criminal. Guy would have gone to jail

lol he ain’t getting cited, that dudes going to jail
144 mph ain’t no simple ticket. There are a ton of other charges. Fleeing and eluding (at 144 mph that’s a felony). Plus all the other traffic violations add in some reckless driving (putting the safety of the general public at risk. A family could pull out and not see a guy doing 100+ …instant death to the family) plus someone who runs like that typically means the car may be stolen or drugs etc. won’t know since they never ran the tag but to say it’s a simple ticket is not the case here. At first (94 mph) if he would’ve stopped then yes. Speeding ticket and done buuuuut he took it to the next level. Got away this time. But he has to be lucky 100% of the time every time he does it. Cops only have to be lucky once…. Them are some odds I wouldn’t play with. Despite any of my skills all I need to do is screw up once or have an idiot pull out in front of me and it’s over.
@@mellowdramatic33 point he is trying to make is doing two wrong things don't make a right. If the suspect is clearly not gonna stop just terminate the pursuit. Cop and suspect are both endangering innocent people. Most cops lose sight of the suspect but continue pursuit for the adrenaline or ego.

ngl i spent 5 years in mainland europe 150mph isnt shit id argue 175 and above is where youre really pushing it. and comparatively speaking most Americans are kinda wimpy yet unnecessarily agressive drivers. the only thing that makes your roads dangerous is the severelack of maintenance, piss poor civilengineering, and average driver egos/ lack of courtesy. the only reason its so dangerous is that yalls ego wont let someone pass even if you're driving a 2002 vw golf in the left passing lane that can barely struggle over 60 mph. everybody in USA has this ego and they THINK and DRIVE like they're in a v8 lambo but instead its a v4 ford taurus that cant even go over 50 without practically falling apart.

Anyone else notice he didn't want to say he was doing 125 to dispatch, "over 100" is pretty vague when you have a speedo literally right in your face. Because he knows if he said he was during 125 to catch him they would have called it off earlier.
