I just want them to stop hurting me emotionally. I try my best but I just feel so beat down and empty. I moved to a new area and I’m doing my best to get healthy and to navigate these difficult relationships without giving up on them. I got a message out of the blue from one of my sons saying my 8 year old grandson talks crap about me. That’s all he said and I wonder why he feels the need to say something that would hurt my feelings for no reason. I don’t understand.
Wow; this is tough! I have grandkids, and I can’t imagine the pain you are dealing with right now! What I will say is ‘I commend you for putting you first, in that, you are conscious of the impact this stuff is having on you emotionally and is taking precautions to make sure that it doesn’t fully consume you. Yes, it is tough, but you are working through it; that is key! Just keep the faith and continue on the path of fighting for your peace. Eventually, the enemy will get tired and give up.
