Over lockdown, the popularity of terrariums went through the roof. These little ecosystems in a jar are truly special things, bringing a self-contained genuine jungle into your living room. Mike meets up with Oz - a professional terrarium maker - to see how it's done.

I like this randomness of topics from What Next! It's almost like Tom Scott's channel, like "here's something super interesting you never even thought of to be interested in" I love it! Keep up the great work Mike et al.
In regards to the little bugs, I would imagine that on top of cleaning up dead leaves and providing nutrients into the soil, they also breathe, putting CO² into the "atmosphere" in the terrarium, which the plants then convert back into oxygen!
Also regarding the bonsai tree, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just stressed after being transplanted.

You can also just go to the gardening centre, secretly snap off a single leaf with a bit of stem off of a tradescantia and put that in there. In a year the whole thing'll be overgrown.
