- @FloorJansenOfficial (Dutch: [ˈfloːr ˈjɑnsə(n)]; born 21 February 1981) is a Dutch singer and songwriter. She is the lead vocalist of Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish.
Jansen first became known as a member of symphonic metal band After Forever, standing as their lead vocalist from 1997, when she joined at age 16, to their disbanding in 2009. When After Forever disbanded, she formed ReVamp and has released two albums with them. In 2012 following the departure of their lead vocalist Anette Olzon, Nightwish brought in Jansen as a touring member until the end of their Imaginaerum World Tour. In 2013, they announced Jansen was now their full-time lead vocalist; she subsequently disbanded ReVamp to focus on Nightwish. In 2018, she and Pagan's Mind guitarist Jørn Viggo Lofstad premiered their hard rock duo Northward.

Something that you should know about FLOOR JANSEN. She started singing in a symphonic metal band at just 16 years old. After Forever (1995-2009). Then he created a new Progressive Metal band, ReVamp (2009-2016). In 2018 he released a personal Hard Rock project (Northward). In 2012, she was invited by Nightwish to finish their world tour, after the band's second female singer (Annete Olzon) left. In 2013 she became Nightwish's full time lead Vocalist. She is a singing teacher. She sings in Dutch, German, English, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, Italian and Latin. She sings Heavy Metal, Trash Metal, Pop, Rock, Symphonic Metal, Arya and Opera. She even sang rap. THE BEST SINGER TODAY IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
You are right: Floor is a role model, not just for kids, for adults too.
I have been to her Dutch solo shows - and one in Germany - and before singing this song she tells that by now she can give herself a pat on the back.
Which she couldn't when she was young. Never found herself good enough, than. Now she reached her Paragon (ultimate goal) and after the song she tells the audience to stand still by what they achieved, and give themselves a pat on the back.

Floor is so genuine and sweet, not a bit of diva in her. She is completely humble about how great she sings. She appreciates her fans and never puts herself above us. She says all the time " I am just Floor." Her entire album is beautiful and uplifting. She loves her metal, been fronting metal bands over 25 years, and she has told us many times, she is never leaving Nightwish.
Floor is definitely a positive role model for everyone but especially girls and women. 🤘🎸
During covid when there was no touring Floor made some home videos where she showed what her daily life is like in her farm with her family. And also she recorded a few covers too, all of them are on her RUclips channel. You can tell she's just like one of us, really down to earth and a funny person.

Floor has a wolf tattooed behind one ear and a dog behind the other. The wolf represents her singing, especially the metal. The dog represents her quiet life on a Swedish farm with her family and animals. She really is a lovely role model for all ages, I think.
I'm sure not everyone, but many Nightwish fans also enjoy following Floor's solo career, Tuomas's work with Lifetime of Adventure (inspired by Scrooge McDuck) and Auri (his band with his wife Johanna and Troy from Nightwish), and Marko's many musical adventures. Some many different flavors of excellence.

Floor is just amazing. I consider her to be the best rock/metal vocalist. Period. There are some legends of history and I take nothing from them, however floor has all that each of the best had in 1 human. And yes, you are spot on. She is genuine, unpretentious, and honest. This comes across in every song she sings. She lives the song for the time it runs, then lives then next, and the next and at such a high level of connection it blows me away. Her stamina, her charisma, her emotional truth, are just a wonder. I feel blessed to have discovered her. She, and Nightwish have enriched my life. (56yo lifelong metal head)

This song is precious to me 🥰. To see Floor with her past kid and teen self is so heartwarming.. The clip is a metaphor. Floor driving her past selves into the future telling her past to be yourself. She unloads her (mental) baggage from the present and gives it to her past. It ends with a wholesome Floor (with past Floors) enjoying themselves amidst the past mental baggage and finally at ease. Despite loving parents, Floor's past has not been easy (she recounts that in multiple interviews she gave).
The whole album "Paragon" has helped me mentally sooo much. Floor's voice is like a warm hug 🥰.

Floor is amazing; saw her and Nightwish live some years ago. Tremendous range and this indeed shows it off to the fullest.
More of a pop sound than I am used to hearing from her. But that authenticity is there (she is so full of joy and energy live).
America needs to hear more of her, and Nightwish also.
Floor is indeed a wonderful person, almost like a friend, while she is also such a talented singer. During the past few (since 2019) I really got to know and appreciate her personally: in Beste Zangers (Dutch TV), with the band Nightwish, during the pandemic, during Sing Meinen Song (Germany TV), in interviews and Instagram, and obviously through her solo album. Time and again she shows her dedecation, her commitment to family, band and audience. And that's what I appreciate most about Floor. In no way a Diva, but a real Paragon for all generations

The song is about making some time to reflect on and appreciate your achievements (represented by the luggage) in life until now reaching for the Paragon (the best you can be). Floor surely can be proud of what she has achieved. This whole album can be described in one word: empowerment.

Not 100% sure, but it looks like a 1979 Chev Caprice wagon. I inherited my Dad's 1979 Caprice sedan so this video has a familiar feel to it. In her "Fire" video she's driving a 1981 Dodge Aspen and I used to own a 1977 Aspen. Floor's videos are taking me down an automotive memory lane.
You put into words what we all feel. Not my style of music either but her voice and down to earth character just makes me happy.

Great, to watch Floor as a person/human as she is, is best I think. So, for another side you should the Tv show „Beste Zangers 2019“ give a chance. And there try the songs sung by Floor (start with cover of „Shallow“ - original from lady Gaga) ‼️🏆👍
The Beste Zangers ( Best Singers ) Show was one of the changing factors in Floor's direction. Floor has some inside her life stories/ videos worth a look to show you how right you are about Floot being down to earth.
NightWish Army Wisconsin Chapter here, Great reaction! Floor is such an amazing person, as are the rest of the band. They are all so good at being grounded and not making the money their priority. They live for the moments and experiences. Tuomas often says that it is not the money for him. This album was Floor’s 1st attempt at all aspects of making an album. She wanted it to reflect all that is Floor.

Great reaction and I love that You are open for GREAT music despite genre. I think I talk for most part of the NW Army when I say that we love that she does this as that just grows her style when it comes to performing for Nightwish in coming albums.
Floor said in an interview that it wouldn't make sense for her to do a solo album that was symphonic metal, when she is already in the BEST band of that genre, with the Metal Mozart writing their music.
Everything she does is so...life-affirming...

yeah you are right she is a person to aspire to for folks. all the videos of her either coaching, sharing her story (storytime series on her channel ), her true self just can not be denied. Unspoken things like how she interacts with her dog and horses shows her true nature. some how, she just reaches out and shares that inner light she has, never seems fake. (like the comments she had just before the Seattle show in "learn the set list in 48 hours documentary") She wanted to do something different on this Album, and i think she nailed it. I Love Nightwish, have since 2004 when they were introduced to me. Ive become a Floor fan too :). Maybe some one commented, i don't know, but every cd bought on her page 1 tree was planted. I don't know how to say this, here I go...in some way i loved this reaction so much more than other's from Nightwish, but, it's funny because for sure the excitement of seen you reacting to the greats song of Nightwish is the best, the songs are the best, everything is the best, but in this one, being not a main song (i don't know how to call it, it's great too but is not Nightwish) but being not like THE main songs we usually watch, i loved a lot how you get touched by the heart of Floor, i am agree she is a beautiful human being and you can see that in her songs as a solo singer, her interviews, everywhere you feel you can even see her soul and you want to be a better person. Ok i am extending too much. And I don't even know what i am talking about but this was lovely, she can touch our hearts with her voice

To me, one of the reasons why Floor's solo music is different from pop and rock - her stories are deeper and not so 'begging' - you know 'you are the only one, please come back' *etcetera. Even though Floor uses few words, in combination with her toning of her voice, she starts the memories in a good way. Her stories are positive, and deserves more than just a smile.
Floor is bloody amazing! She could sing the worst song ever written and make it beautiful. Floor did not want to compete with her brothers in Nightwish at all so she stayed away from metal for this.

Personally, I don't care what Floor sings, because it will always sound extremely good! Of course, she also has two sides, like any other person. The difference between Floor and most other singers is that Floor also takes risks and stands by what she does. Floor is a person you want to spend as much time as possible with.
