She is quite popular for her services so you might have heard of her.

    How do i get into trucking in norway?

    • @jarls5890
      @jarls5890 2 года назад +6

      You wont.
      You would need a work (and residential) permit for Norway - which you will not get unless you have some highly specialized skill. I.e. a foreigner (unless EU citizen) is not free to come work as they please.
      Also - you would need a truck drivers license which is time consuming and expensive (about $6000,-) over about 6-8 months.
      During this time of course you would need to support yourself as you can not yet drive a truck to make money - and living in Norway is not cheap (at an absolute minimum $2000 a month).

      @@arun-hj5vr I am no expert - but I am pretty certain that if you hold a EU license that is fine. I see an enormous amount of Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian, heavy trucks on Norwegian roads (I live right by the main land crossing from Sweden to Norway). I.e. all these truckers are driving on EU license in Norway.
      Even tho Norway is NOT an EU country we are in EFTA, Schengen, etc. so all the EU freedoms goes for Norway as well (freedom to travel, work, live).

      You don't only need a C+E driving licence but you also need a certificate of professional aptitude, which is commonly referred to as Code 95.
      That's the toughest certificate to get, both money wise and time wise.
      And this is just the basics to work with non dangerous cargos.
      In case you want to work with dangerous cargo (such us gas, chemicals, etc) which is basically most of what the trucking industry is comprised of. Then you'll need another certificate! Which again isn't easy or cheap to get!
      And let's not forget that you constantly have to renew all these certificates in order to be able to work...
      Be renewing I mean that you have to take a 35h course every now and then!
      Yup, being a truck driver in Europe isn't an easy feat my friend. Thus the salary and the lack of non-Europeans working in this industry.

      @chineduihekire7594 Год назад

      Why is it harder for people outside the EU

    • @WeldingForJesus
      @WeldingForJesus Год назад +1

      @@chineduihekire7594 Because non-EU/EEA countries do not have the right of free movement and in most cases do not have (valid) drivers licenses and mandatory courses. A national from the rest of the world would need to apply for a work permit, residency permit, and most likely also renew their drivers license and take the professional drivers course, and if you get a first time EU/EEA license that course alone is 280 hours.
      PS: and the work permit is a bit like the story of the chicken and the egg; without a work permit most employers won't hire you, and without a job the authorities won't be likely to give you a permit. And even if you DO manage that feat, there is the matter of the license and the course. I do not know how much the course costs today, but the license and lodgings while doing all this might well cost around € 20-25 000 and considering you might pull around €4 000 after taxes and before expenses per month as a truck driver here, it will take a long time before you earned that investment back...
