It's important to note that most Norwegians understand and speak English, so you won't have a problem in that sense. However the Norwegian language is required if you want a job in most cases. Also learning Norwegian language will make your experience better.

Nice video! However, regarding the doctor thing: As you may (should) know, there is a upcoming crisis when it comes to effectiveness of antibiotics and bacterial immunity. Because of this, norwegian and scandinavian doctors are generally restrictive in prescribing these. The result is that there are a lot more potent antibiotics in the 'toolbox' in Norway compared to many other places. Secondly, a 'cold' is usually caused by virus, not bacteria - hence, antibiotics is of no use. If you use antibiotics for a regular cold, that strain of antibiotics may not be reactive if you need it against a more serious bacterial infection at a later stage. Just saying :-)
yea you are right, being an Indian i also face same problems, that why doctors here do not prescribe medicines immediate just like Indian doctors. I came to know later that its not good for long term to just take an antibiotic instead its better to let the virus go off our body naturally by Immune system.

A couple of things that can be added: 1. Travel - Living in Mainland Europe v/s up here. If you love travelling to different countries, then living in mainland Europe is better. A return air ticket from Oslo to anywhere costs minimum 1500-2000 NOKs. And flight is the only option available. Far more easier and cheaper to travel down there with car/bus/train. 2. Closed Market - Norway is not in the EU. Hence, anything that you need to order in from in the EU will cost customs. Also, the variety of brands available here are lesser than the EU as it is controlled. 3. Job scene - It is relatively quite a small market with very few MNCs compared to even the Scandi neighbors of Sweden and Denmark.
All this is true, but the one about us being shy is so incredibly spot on. Norwegians will do everything we can to avoid sitting next to a stranger on a bus, train or anywhere public. If you sit next to someone you dont know and there are other options, its considered weird and rude and weird, and most likely the person already sitting there will retract the body away from you, or even get up and move. On the flipside is when we are drunk, we will do everything we can to socialize with everyone around us, regardless if its strangers, friends or colleagues.
...and as always there are exceptions. Also, I can`t say I noticed much difference-if any-between how people behave on public transport, on the streets etc here in Oslo, compared to Copenhagen, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Antwerp,Cologne, Sydney, Auckland...and quite a few other citites that I`ve been to. Also; it`s pretty obvious that whenever the use of a foreign language is involved, MANY Norwegians may struggle a bit. This may be interpreted as reservedness, when the real reason is that they are not able to express themselves as freely as when they `re using their own native language. Another thing: most of us aren`t extroverts or introverts, many of us (probably like myself) are ambiguous-meaning somewhere in the middle. I have also noticed quite a few foreigners who seemed rather introverted, maybe shy or maybe they felt insecure about their Norwegian. In addition, a few of them spoke very poor English. Now, how on earth are you going to communicate with people, very few Norwegians speak Polish, Urdu, Somali etc. I had an indian friend in the past, academic, I wouldn`t describe her as particularly extraverted or introverted. However, we had MANY meaningful conversations, shared many a good meal..in fact she taught me to cook different recipes, which I still make.

Norway is an introvert friendly country. Norwegian culture is pretty much introverted. But they do become extrovert when they are drunk😅 In Norway it takes time for people to open up but when a friendship is created it is stable & can last for years. People dont stop & chat on the streets/bus/shops especially not with strangers but if you start talking they'll reply out of politeness/friendliness. So when you are around Norwegians dont think they expecting you to start a conversation because they themselves aren't going to. The polite thing for Norwegians to do is to leave other people alone and they themselves appreciate being left alone. Norwegians don't show up at each other's houses unannounced. When you try too hard, talk to loud or do too much for attention f.ex; you scare Norwegians away & embarrass them, they look at it as being a weirdo/creepy and you definitely going to get bizarre looks👀. that's the main reason i love this country because publicly fighting or yelling is an embarrassing situation Norwegians avoid it to the max! Norwegians are very peaceful people

First of all India has very big population and still growing. But India can't take care of its population food and work wise and that is why Indians are going overseas for work to make money. And 2nd Norwegians aren't shy they don't want to interact with color people and people from non Europeans countries. Every Western country you go they are like this.

2) When should I expect to hear from an interviewer and receive an offer following my initial application?
3) I am responsible for my parents, can I move them to Norway during my Ph.D. or after my Ph.D.?
Thanks Arvind and Shailja.
I applied for my master's in Norway if I get admission I will come with my family to Norway and I will definitely meet you guys there 😀😜

What a beautiful couple. 😍
Thank you!! 😊
Nice discussion, it will be nice if CC is added or english conversation through out the video as am from South India, it's quite tough to understand
Ma'am if you don't even understand Hindi how do you expect to move to a country where you'll be required to know Norwegian?
@@smallkitty7887 why do you care she will manage if she have to
@@smallkitty7887 great question, I never said I will not learn Norwiegn language nor hate to listen Hindi. When RUclips have options for CC and when the person can speak in English, why can't I ask for it being a nonHindi person? It doesn't mean that I hate other languages but every English speaking people can be benefit out of it.
WE HAVE UPDATED THE SUBTITLES NOW.
Shelja voice so beautiful and arvind look like Hollywood hero❤️
Thanks a million ;)
Norway is the most perfect place for me because:
1. I'm a complete introvert
2. I'm a winter baby
3. I'm learning Norwegian
4. I love the darkness
5. I'm very independent when it comes to housework
6. I don't drink or smoke
7. I prefer public transport over uber

I think sir , just missed a very important point regarding the job restriction faced bcoz of degree which a person has completed and is only allowed to work in that domain only. correct me if Iam wrong !
Nordic countries are magical, give Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings vibes 😊
Do you guys suggest to visit in October end? Would it rain a lot?
If the winters are so cold then it means i will need to get a mans to keep me warm 💅
In the meantime you can buy an electric blanket......
Thank you it's an important message for the newcomers.

So I request you to please make a detailed video on scope of agricultural sector in Norway and average salary of a marketing manager , sales manager and some other job titles in agriculture sector. For example agro - chemicals.

Very informative and quite elaborately described, thank you
Glad you think so!
I feel there are several criterias that Norway doesn't suit my conditions sadly. I would find a better suitable place for myself to do masters. Thanks for such a great information sir and ma'am.
Hey hv u chosen something
Hello to both of you! Very useful & informative video. Nice polite way to put across facts.... & at the end... phone karke hi aana 😁👍
I'm also pure vegitarian
Good to know that ;)
I'm pure vegetarian only Monday 😀😀😎
@@sevens9258 That does not count. Going by your logic even hard core non-vegetarians can be vegetarians for 6 to 8 hours of the night every day when they are sleeping and not eating anything. :-)
Your so amazing because you said door is always open for Indian
Sir please make video of your new furnished home tour
Soon brother ;)

I listened to you guys and I do respect you and your wife. After watching this entire video; I will not come to Norway because of our Indian nature.
What is the point to come to that country where you can't break a conversation?? Main India me hi khush hoon 😊

Hi, from Mumbai, my sister is staying in Norway from last 35 years. First started phigiotherapi clinic at honnisavad. Near North Pole. Now retired, staying in Oslo. Daughters in Oslo only
Thanks for sharing. Good to know about your sister ;)
First of all India has very big population and still growing. But India can't take care of its population food and work wise and that is why Indians are going overseas for work to make money. And 2nd Norwegians aren't shy they don't want to interact with color people and people from non Europeans countries. Every Western country you go they are like this.
True.
Can you please share any information regarding norway tourism, whether it is or will be open in near future for Indian?
