Finally an honest man on youtube who explains things so everyone can join in and is concise BRAVO. My C10 is modified like yours the green with Brushless motor and ESC from Furitek and it works great. But the dual shock absorbers are more harmful than beneficial in my opinion. At some point in the beginning of the video I noticed you pressed on the green tire and they were long about getting the right shape again so I disassembled my Injora aluminum Beadlock and found no holes in them so I drilled 2 pcs. 2mm holes in the inner ring, so now they are just as good as the stock wheels Good wind going forward and thanks for a great video.
well, I am happy to hear this! I ordered these tires for my C10 on a whim yesterday. I was only going off the fact I liked them in real life on my 80 series land cruiser. even more excited to get them now.
In my experience, modified foams work better than no foams. I tried multiple rigs and setups also. For me, when running no foams, they work good on vertical climbs, but they suffer from rolling/folding on the side hill. When I modify the foams, I do so by cutting sections out of the outside 1/4 inch or so. I still get the same type of grab that I do without foams, because there is much less material. They hold true when you get to the side hill while also being able to confirm. Give it a shot. 1.0 foams are cheap. Lol
I built up a gladiator and was not happy with its capabilities. I watched your video and promptly removed the foams from the bead lock wheels in favor of just air. The set up I’m running is not vented. The difference in crawl performance is amazing traction is off the charts. Thanks for the tip.
i agree tires, and metal bead locks made the biggest difference to my jeep, if your up for a "little" modification get the emax metal gear servo and a metal steer link its amazing
I have those tires...currently running with foam though. After breaking in, they're VERY SOFT & STICKY! I love them. Glad I made a good Choice (first & currently ONLY aftermarket wheel purchase)
Thanks for the tip my friend. In my opinion nothing looks as cool and realistic as those deep dish Injoras, and after watching this video things will get a lot better and even more realistic from now on, not to mention performance. Good stuff 😎👍 Thank you
Nice video! Thanks for sharing! Months ago I upgraded my scx24 Deadbolt with RC4WD rox lok comp tires and SSD alum/brass beadlocks. expensive upgrade but it completely transformed the rig. I'll ck out those tires. You're inspiring me to get an indoor track going!!!
I wanted to find the best tires possible that werent huge, these look scale with the logos and the flex, and boy do they grip! A servo, some brass mods, and those wheels and tires and your pretty good to go. I wanted to get a k-10 body I saw, and these should fit nicely and I wont have to trim a ton. Thanks for the recommendation!!!
It would be awesome if you could make a comparison between these and some other tyres in situations like this as well as sand and mud. Would be greatly appreciated and of course keep up the excellent videos.
I bought good year wranglers since they were one of the only tires that were not super small but still meant for crawling. I'm pretty impressed with them so far, I almost wish I cut out some of the foam though. Without enough weight on your scx24 it doesn't compress the tire much to improve grip.
I agree! My jeep performs great with these wheels and tires. You should try running foams in the front. This will help control sidewall flex when crawling sideways. But continue to run without in the rear to keep those tires conformed to the terrain.
I've got some Proline Hyrax tires on order that I've heard are better than the Patagonias or Wranglers for a variety of uses, but I agree tires and wheels are the best first upgrade!
Ever since i got my first set of aftermarket wheels I took the foams out, I think they actually hurt performance with these small trucks. Had a set of the falken tires, and now I have a set of the mickey Thompsons.
Good video. Any link to the tires? Just a note. Man Cave = walls, lockable door, absolutely no storage of any wifey items,...beer fridge can stay...but no noisy furnace stuff. LOL Keep the good SCX24 vids coming. Thanks
I.would agree if anyone wants to keep it cheap, tires and wheels make a huge difference, and they want to spend a little more some better shocks really go with the good wheels and tires....
Of course this video comes out after I just bought a set of tires , now I’m going to have to get a set. What’s the differences into the two warthog set ups you have there?
For your track spred foaming 🦍 glue on a board lay it down in thick sand the glue will grow into an stick the sand onto the board , fixing your no grip road.
I got the same wheel and tire set up as the video with no foam and now the truck seems to have a very hard tilt to the left when going forward and right when going in reverse it any idea why?
Try using a couple of rasberry heat sinks on the motor. Overdrive gear for the front axel I fnd helps the slop when decending a hill, but i will suggest a OX 55T motor.
Can you lmk product description so we can get it ourselves like a link possibly ? Looking to get a few sets they look nice for indoor tracks hard terrain
Yes and no. It depends on how serious you are about it. I certainly love having the upgraded servos on my heavier rigs but didnt have too many issues with the stock servo on the truck with nothing but new wheels!
In my opinion yes. Getting a hobby grade RC truck for a little over $100 is hard to do. I have owned RC trucks that were upwards of $600 brand new and I can honestly say I've had more fun with the SCX24s. Another thing to take into consideration is the availability of aftermarket parts. Since the SCX24 is the most popular there are almost unlimited aftermarket parts and suppliers. Not to mention they perform amazing out of the box!
@@CineMoto24 yeah my friend was using the good years on his crawler and he had less grip on the rocks and some times couldn’t get over the rocks but my Patagonia’s could we have some minor differences between our trucks
I have been running a 1/10 scx10 for years with little mod such as proline tires, weight 60/40 and droop setup working very well for me and thinking to down size to 1/24 for indoor.. other than replace wheels, servo and charger the weakness of it. What else most common problems with the scx24?
It all depends on the application of course but my personal favorites are the stock shocks to be honest. I have treal aluminum shocks, kinetic double barrels, and stock of course and I prefer the stock ones!
I agree with your recommendation for these tires, but did you know that you have them mounted backwards ? The double row of nubs go on the outside of the tire. The single row needs to be on the inside, towards the body. I know because I run these on my 1:1 NON scale Jeep. They are 35” tall and clearly marked as to which side is outside. Other than that, great video.
Actually they are mounted correctly. There is a seam from manufacturing which is tricking your eyes but this is the correct orientation. If you look closely single row is on the inside and double on the outside. I also do some full scale wheeling as well although I haven’t ran wrangler MTRs yet.
The rc4wd stamped ones are compatible with brass hexes from Amazon. I’m also running brass hexes on the injoras but had to do a ton of dremel work to the brass hex to get them to fit.
youre better off running brass knuckles vs wheel inserts. The rims already have an extended hex and the axle shaft is a bit too short to put a wheel nut on.
What I do with my 1/10 tires sometimes is squeeze a little air out and hold while you're tightening the beadlock so you have less tire pressure

nice, i do the same and run no foams on some treal beadlocks., love it works good.
Your jeep is a real climber on that awesome track you made. The tires worked out great.
Air tight indeed, I squeeze a little air out as I lock the bead, simulates lower pressure tires.

Where did you get that white jeep body in need one it looks so good
I run km3s on mine with no foam and they work beautifully
I believe the Patagonia’s have better grip on rocks, but over all the wranglers are a tiny bit better in wet, and dirt, wood etc
I guess on the types of rock and dirt
Patagonia is a bit overrated with what’s available these day’s. In my opinion the 1.0 hyrax by proline has best bite on most rocks even damp 💯

Sounds like you tightened the wheel nuts too tight in the front and the axle is binding. Try loosening your front wheel nuts a bit.
Do you have a video on how to make the jeep truck body ?
So I keep running into motors over heating or just stopping and axle gears being sloppy not making shafts spin.
Hmm I would check your wheel nuts and see how tight they are. If the fronts are too tight the axle will bind and kill motors
