Honestly, sometimes I think it was suicide by cop. Hunter is not stupid, he knows the SWAT had guns on him, even if he shot Louise, they would have shot him. It was that second when he saw the police then looked at his mum, Mel for the last time, Hunter knew he was going back to jail, with more time, another sentence on top of 25 years. His future gone. I feel he did it on purpose as he didn't have to courage to pull the trigger himself. He wanted to see his mum for the last time. Hunter was never going to pull the trigger. In the end, he was a boy who was protecting his mum from Ray and his action resulted in him losing this life. Mel and Hunter should behave left for Portugal.
Poor Mel, Tamzin doesn't have much luck with on-screen sons. For anyone who hasn't seen it, Tamzin was in a one-off BBC drama after she left EE the first time which was called 'Out Of Control'. This storyline reminds me of it because it's quite similar. Tamzin played a mother who's young son got locked up which has tragic results. It was easily Tamzin's best work as an actress & I'd recommend it to anyone who can track it down.

Disagree with Mel the police officer was in the right to kill hunter, he was about to shoot Louise dead and who knows if he did kill Louise he may have started trying to kill police officers. Of course will be bitter as he was her little boy just a shame he turned into s monster
What an abysmal show these days they have killed off all the good characters that could still be in the show eastenders became terribly bad when they killed pat roxy ronnie like wtf and tamzin outhwaite deserves so much better why bring a character back after all those years to kill them like hello if they killed sharon eastenders would be over i think
