Can it have a anime? Of course. Can it replace the first series? HELL NO. Not only it doesn't have enough content to last as long or be as profitable as the original series, the ideia that they killed the 20+ series to give adventures his own anime, would make the pokemon manga become the most hated piece of pokemon media in history.
I like the idea of them being made into movies like 2 or 3 movies for the Red and Blue, 1 Movie for Yellow, 2 movies For GSC, and so on longer arcs get more into them. And released like one or two a year.

And then there's all of the Ground-type moves that would have to be censored due to all of the earthquakes that happen in Japan. Now, if they wanted to make some animated shorts in the vein of Generations, that might be more feasible.
Honestly, the majority of the first few arcs are so good that one or two episodes each just wouldn’t cut it, they deserve more. My ideal structure would be a miniseries where each arc gets ten episodes at most, and if that wasn’t possible with the budget they have, then five could work well enough as long as they had the usual 20+ minute length that the main series gets.
Considering that there have been old animes that have gotten remakes in recent years I don't think it's impossible for pokemon adventures to get a anime even if it doesn't fit with the most recent game so I could see after horizons ends them doing pokemon adventures anime the question is will the studio notice the demand for it to make it
Easy answer yes and while Ash is the anime “counterpart” to Red their stories are vastly different so the experience will be different and I definitely want to see Brendan and May and Calem and Serena’s stories animated properly they’re probably my favorite stories of the Pokémon manga so far
I'd love adapted Pokemon Adventures With the More mature themes Specifically a series for the older fans With the Regular anime being more for kids Pokemon Adventures: The Animation Can be more PG13 as opposed to The TVY7 rating given to the Regular anime
The gen 1 portion of the manga is so out there compared to the anime now. It would either need to be heavily remade or at least have changes that match the current era.
While i never read the Pokemon Adventures manga (but i really want to do) i would like if the Netflix reboot is an adaptation of the manga instead of a rerash of the anime or the games.
I always thought SOMETHING has to happen with the pokemon adventure manga, even if they make film adaptations in the style of detective pikachu I'd be happy, but I just want to see SOMETHING done 😩
I think the ship has sailed on this one unfortunately. Honestly, I don’t like any of these ideas. The assumption is that it will just be a one to one recreation of all our favourite scenes. Realistically it will be a watered down version of those scenes at best, or completely rewritten plots in an attempt to 'fix' it. I don’t think anyone wants that.
They really had a missed opportunity…this new Pokémon horizons honestly could’ve just been the old manga turned into the anime, which honestly should have happened
The big problem is the Yellow arc because it portrays Lance and the Kanto Elite Four as straight up villains, which fundamentally contradicts their more streamlined characterizations in other media. A mini-series covering just the best moments would confuse those unfamiliar with the source material, as other non-protag characters are also portrayed differently (some in not-so-appropriate ways). Green especially would have to go through some major changes by toning down her femme fatale tendencies and other overtly sexualized instances. Really, the real big issue is that the original arcs were able to get away with a lot of stuff back in the 90s that just won't be tolerated today. The Lavender Tower zombies is the best example, as nowadays you can't just decapitate a Pokemon on a children's show. And yes, children will be watching this purely because of brand recognition, no matter what platform its on or how it gets promoted. Some may even sit down with their parents expecting another fun time with pokepals, only to get caught off guard by a Psyduck's skin melting off or an Arbok getting slashed in half. If you take out all those gruesome details, then what you're left with is the second episode of Pokemon Origins, which is not only redundant but also defeats the purpose of making such a show in the first place. The edginess is a big selling point of the manga, even if it isn't really there as much as some fans exaggerate it to be. At the end of the day, Pokemon's big focus has been and always will be the games. Every other storytelling medium is just an auxiliary means of expanding the brand, each free to do with the games' content as they will. And of all those auxiliaries, the manga is arguably the most niche of them all. There have been manga adaptations of the anime in the past because the anime is more recognizable and therefore warrants the occasional (and always short-lived) experimental adaptation. But the manga itself---whichever one you're talking about because Adventures is only the most talked about one---is rarely ever advertised and has a much smaller fanbase. A special music video is the best we can hope for that this point. But commercially, there's no incentive.
Exactly But, that's what makes Pocket Monsters Special SPECIAL It's not the same Media Hell, Sabrina, Lt Surge and Koga are freaking evil in the manga until Team Rocket disbands originally Pokemon Adventures SHOULDN'T be like the regular anime To me it NEEDS the mature tone and themes to say This isn't the Kid's anime This is for the older fans (Teens mostly)
In fact, Pokespe's fanbase is not much smaller. It's just that there are relatively few compared to other Pokemon media. It's sales even entered the top 100 Japanese mangas (More than 30 million copies sold internationally). Some of its popular characters were even trending on Japanese Twitter on their birthday. Its popularity also led French publishers to ask if they could introduce it to France, and let VIZ decided to introduce it to the US again, where it is now being publish steadily. Pokespe is less well-known simply because it's not animated, while if it were another work(manga/light novel) with the same score, it would be animated. And many shounen manga adapted into anime have undergone proper censored, Pokespe can be treated accordingly.
I have a hot take.....why not the retcon series with Satoshi/Ash that is similar to the special manga Red? Like fix os Kanto arc with the rocket arc minus Mewtwo parts.

Whatever we get (if we get anything at all), I’d be THRILLED, since I’ve been waiting over a decade and a half for something like any of these (it’s probably my most wanted anime project other than a Soul Eater reboot that’s like Hellsing Ultimate or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, where they reboot the series but tell the complete story)! I remember in first or second grade watching all these great animated fan videos set to various anime OPs! I would absolutely ADORE getting to see some of the more mature moments in Pokémon history animated! I wish they could've just adapted the mangas instead of starting Pokemon Bland after concluding Ash's journey, at last. The biggest problem I have with the Pokemon anime is the severe lack of any and all tension. The monotonous Pokemon Horizons showed promise of having tension with the Explorers being a real threat to the unexperienced Liko, but then the writers chickened out and handed her an easy out with a powerful Gary stu like Friede swooping in to babysit her, stifling all the tension. Of course, they just HAD to give the Gary-Stu the extremely overrated Charizard, as if it wasn't bad enough the mascot was forced down our throats while also being Gary-Stued. The writers really don't understand it's not just any Pikachu fans fell in love with, it's Ash's Pikachu. You can't just throw any random Pikachu at us and expect him to have the same impact, especially since the Gary-Stu Pikachu has had none of the struggle and character development that made Ash's Pikachu so iconic. Captain Pikachu feels incredibly cheap. Words can't express how much I despise his character. It feels his sole role is for the writers to go, "Hey, look! It's Captain Pikachu! Check out that aura!" It feels cheap and undeserved. The series would be all the better if the Rising Bland Tacklers never entered the picture and had Liko just escape the Explorers through her own wits & cunning. Liko having to flee the Explorers each time would lend her a resourcefulness that would truly make her a compelling protagonist. We could've gotten an inverse of Team Rocket where instead of the villains disguising themselves to trick Ash & co, she has to cleverly disguise herself to give the Explorers the slip, motivating her to grow stronger with every close call. She can even recruit Dot & Roy & even a weak Pikachu that grows with her to form her own crew that'll eventually go head-to-head with the villains. That would've been way more fun than the trio just being babysat by uninteresting 2-D adult characters.
Honestly it sounds interesting but realistically it would just all depend on how they go about adaptating it and im with the last part u said on how it shouldn't be followed exactly considering the manga has shown in detail of pokemon and kids dying on the manga along with a mass genocide also for some reason theres occasional nudity. Seeing as how pokemon's main target audience is 10 year olds it would be a really bad look but i do wanna see the other characters that u can play in the games but have never seen in the anime since we got to see serena, and may.
I respectfully think you're wrong and because Pokemon likes money so they'll do whatever brings them more money. And if this is a animated series on the manga, no doubt they'll do it. I think it could happen someday. It has been like that for things fans asked for years for different fandoms after all. They don't believe it will ever happen but when the fan demand is strong enough, it happens. The fans just have to be numerous enough and vocal enough about it. It doesn't have to replace the current anime. It could be its own separate thing for an older audience. Making the heroes switch for a different season could work pretty well with the Jojo formula. Nah the mini-series are hella frustrating because what people want is a real long lasting animated series. People like it but it makes them even more envious to have a long lasting more mature series.
i hear two options: main stream anime, and short few episodes. why not just do short episodes in a main stream format that only does a couple chapters at a time or so? like 8-10 min episodes that air like main stream animes but not the full length of main stream animes.
It is really weird if you think about it. Normally the anime comes after the manga is done or after the manga has been going on for quite a while. But the pokemon manga and the pokemon anime are to completely different stories. Why didn't the manga follow the anime or vise versa? I feel like the only way we could get the pokemon manga animated, is for the pokemon show to have a complete reboot where it follows manga canon instead of anime only canon.
Uh Dragonball, Naruto, One Peice, Bleach were all Manga first So was Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon Hell, HyperDimension Neptunia was a GAME first before it got an Anime OR a Manga for that matter
@@shelbybayer200 What is weird is that pokemon is one series I know where the anime and the manga are two completely different stories even though they started around the same time. It is really weird. Heck if we follow normal source material logic. Then the manga looks more canon than the anime because the manga is more related to the games then the anime is. When compared the source material of the games, the anime looks like a spin-off with a oc main character instead of the actual story.
Pretty sure they could have made a pokemon adventures anime after the adventure with ash Was over but now that we have pokemon horizons i dont think we can get one
Make two different distinctly DIFFERENT series with different studios One studio does the Kid's Anime (The Current one) the studio that is already making it work on this one. While they have a Studio known to tell more mature stories but still make it at least good for kids to watch might be an even better idea. The Studios that work on Yu-Gi-Oh Toei Animation could be hired to make the manga an Anime. Any of these ideas could work You could even have an easy airing time Pokemon the Series can be more so a Saturday morning style series While Pokemon Adventures: the Animation Could be more of an anime you'd see air on Toonami or something

Considering that there have been old animes that have gotten remakes in recent years I don't think it's impossible for pokemon adventures to get a anime even if it doesn't fit with the most recent game so I could see after horizons ends them doing pokemon adventures anime the question is will the studio notice the demand for it to make it
If we have season tackling a chapter of the manga, that would mean we have to wait longer to see Scarlet eating that sandwich.
If it did become an anime I'd really hope for some story changes to make the story flow better.
I think pokemon adventure would fit the more typical 12/24 episode season approach than every week year round like Ash's and Liko's anime
Pokemon Manga fans would love to see this happen.
My studio pick is Kyoto animation
They made a silent voice and miss kobayashi's dragon maid
I hope not, because I still want some form of Pokemon anime.
Personally i'd like to see a full adaption.
Easy answer yes and while Ash is the anime “counterpart” to Red their stories are vastly different so the experience will be different and I definitely want to see Brendan and May and Calem and Serena’s stories animated properly they’re probably my favorite stories of the Pokémon manga so far
I just want a Pokemon adventure anime
I'd love adapted Pokemon Adventures
With the More mature themes
Specifically a series for the older fans
With the Regular anime being more for kids
Pokemon Adventures: The Animation
Can be more PG13 as opposed to The TVY7 rating given to the Regular anime
The gen 1 portion of the manga is so out there compared to the anime now. It would either need to be heavily remade or at least have changes that match the current era.
If this happens it'll break the internet 😂
Pokémon adventures deserves better
Pokémon horizon is amazing show than 2019. But I would love Pokemon Adventure becoming an Anime!
While i never read the Pokemon Adventures manga (but i really want to do) i would like if the Netflix reboot is an adaptation of the manga instead of a rerash of the anime or the games.
Yea it is coz its feels like anime not cartoon like anime
i don’t think it will sadly :(. i really really hope im wrong and it does happen, I think fans just need to be as loud as we can haha
The Pokémon company would never allow it. Too many mature themes.
You sound like Pokespe is NGE levels of mature. It's not bad compared to nowadays shonens.
I would support the Pocket Monster Special OVAs existing.
I need my animated Oldrivalshipping and Mangaquestshipping!!!
The manga has some of the best storytelling in the entire franchise and I would love to see it animated at some point!
I know they wouldn't.....but having Adventures adopted as anime I'll be able to die peacefully, literally one of my dying wish
They really had a missed opportunity…this new Pokémon horizons honestly could’ve just been the old manga turned into the anime, which honestly should have happened
The Manga was not supposed to replace the anime but the manga is amazing i think this should be animated
(Sorry for the bad grammar)
Exactly
But, that's what makes Pocket Monsters Special SPECIAL
It's not the same Media
Hell, Sabrina, Lt Surge and Koga are freaking evil in the manga until Team Rocket disbands originally
Pokemon Adventures SHOULDN'T be like the regular anime
To me it NEEDS the mature tone and themes to say
This isn't the Kid's anime
This is for the older fans (Teens mostly)
If you give Studio Trigger the rights to the Pokemon Manga, it's Pokeover for Horizons.
We need a shounen pokemon anime and the closest we got to that is pokemon xy and z
Maybe, if they change the story a bit, added all of the pokemon, had references to Ash Ketchum and have the classic plot, it could happen
I have a hot take.....why not the retcon series with Satoshi/Ash that is similar to the special manga Red? Like fix os Kanto arc with the rocket arc minus Mewtwo parts.
If Pokémon decides not to animate the manga (which I don't think it ever will) it would be interesting if a different studio could get permission to do so. Also unlikely thou
I would like to see a trilogy of movies about the Red Blue, and Green arc (also each character would be voiced over by Chris pratt)
I can see Johnny Yong Bosch voicing Red, Yuri Lowenthal voicing Blue, Christina Vee voicing Green and Christine Marie Cabanos voicing Yellow.
@@Eric-gp3hi nah, let chris pratt voice em all
I Love Blue and Yuri Lowenthal
That would be great ❤️
@@Eric-gp3hi
Yeah, Yuri definitely would be my pick for Blue
Christina Vee as Blue....... Ok, That just freaking fits
Though, my pick for Red would be Robbie Daymond
@@thatoneaxolotlguy9969
No, that's just boring
The voices will just sound like Chris Pratt trying to SOUND like them.
He works for Mario but ONLY because he makes it work
I just can't Hear Chris Pratt's Voice from Red's mouth
I would think Red would sound more Arrogant and Hot headed
Not calm and collected
I agree Pokespe should not replace the anime but it deserves a highlights webseries to make people invested in reading.
And if anyone wants an idea of what some of a Pokémon Adventures anime could look like, I’ll link a short animation of what one of the Pokémon head animators, Misaaki Iwane, did a few years back: ruclips.net/video/KfKQTnx9T34/видео.htmlsi=k7CTXuDMZ2w1Lq3I
It actually should by this point in certain respects. In regards to the portrayal of some characters, for instance.
Pokemon have books? 😮
Gamers/Anime only pokemon gonna be so confusing when they found out half of the cast in the game/anime characters turn evil in the manga 💀
I realy hope it
It would be so awesome
Yes, the manga should replace the main anime! Plus, it would follow the games better!
Thought of making my own Pokémon comic series. New protagonists, new antagonist, Old protagonists (Gen 1-5)
Good luck with it 🫡
@@VeeVolt ah thx :D
@@VeeVolt finished season 1. Moving onto season 2
Where can I read your comic ?
I'm quite curious
@@shelbybayer200 uhhh….its on my channel…
i hear two options: main stream anime, and short few episodes.
why not just do short episodes in a main stream format that only does a couple chapters at a time or so?
like 8-10 min episodes that air like main stream animes but not the full length of main stream animes.
I would prefer if the whole series got animated into different seasons :)
Uh
Dragonball, Naruto, One Peice, Bleach were all Manga first
So was Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon
Hell, HyperDimension Neptunia was a GAME first before it got an Anime OR a Manga for that matter
@@shelbybayer200
What is weird is that pokemon is one series I know where the anime and the manga are two completely different stories even though they started around the same time.
It is really weird.
Heck if we follow normal source material logic.
Then the manga looks more canon than the anime because the manga is more related to the games then the anime is.
When compared the source material of the games, the anime looks like a spin-off with a oc main character instead of the actual story.
Ok My Boy Ash I Still Love You But I Want The Anime To Be Replaced By The Pokemon Adcentures Anime Please.
Why not both? More pokemon is always good
Pretty sure they could have made a pokemon adventures anime after the adventure with ash Was over but now that we have pokemon horizons i dont think we can get one
I’ve always said a Pokémon Adventures anime would be one of the best anime’s ever made and I always will
I definitely thought Netflix
Replace it? No, nor would I personally want it to. Its own series? Maybe, likely as a short series like what we’ve been getting.
Make two different distinctly DIFFERENT series with different studios
One studio does the Kid's Anime (The Current one) the studio that is already making it work on this one.
While they have a Studio known to tell more mature stories but still make it at least good for kids to watch might be an even better idea.
The Studios that work on Yu-Gi-Oh
Toei Animation could be hired to make the manga an Anime.
Any of these ideas could work
You could even have an easy airing time
Pokemon the Series can be more so a Saturday morning style series
While Pokemon Adventures: the Animation
Could be more of an anime you'd see air on Toonami or something
I feel yes cause People who were following Ash have quit the Series well majority
I'd love to see adventures get animated and be geared more towards teens/adults, I get that pokemon is aimed at children, but the adventures manga is definitely not for children, not with all the d3ath in it, pokemon and human alike, but even if it just becomes a webseries, I'd love to see it happen eventually
It should but it won't
I...dont know about this...
I mean... In my opinion... It could be different if there's a dark Pokémon show like based in the game if that will be cool
But the manga... Uuuuh yeah i dont know why i worried about Arceus so much i thought it was something in the game or better.💀
But to me it's awesome in the pokemon adventure. but...um... I don't know
(But it's just my opinion)
