If they don't have fold flat seats they really don't serve my purpose. Dodge and Chrysler with the best in class 3.6 pentastar engine! Just read the comments! The Dodge and Chrysler have the best engine and they hold the patent on the fold flat seating that allows for transporting 4X8 sheets of plywood which no other vans will ever be able to do.
a HUGE reason for me getting the Dodge Caravan in 2015 was the sto N go seating. It has come in handy more times than I though, especially for work. I also prefer the simpler and somewhat sporty design of the Caravan. I just wish the interior was nicer, though I am looking to spice it up.
A black Grand Caravan SXT or GT with tinted windows and cool wheels is decent looking, versatile, has a decent tow rating, and even a bit tough looking.
Shut up, the grand caravan is a lower mid trim, town and country is a top trim. Grand caravan actually is only around 200 dollars cheaper than the top model town and country, because the grand caraavn doesn’t have the clock and leather seats and it has a lower quality gear shifter, Learn your facts before you say dumb stuff about “bad pricing”
Funny how you showed every vans cargo area abut the Kia's. I read that the Sedona's rear seats don't fold flat and the second row isn't removable. If so, why didn’t you mention this?
Considering why minivans exist the mopar with stow n go and a decent V6 for the money what else do you want ? The new Pacifica adds more tech at considerable cost.
Dodge makes a great van. Owned 2 minivans both dodge. Plenty of power and space. People don’t need big suvs just a minivan and stationwagon will do the job. I think vans look better than most of these jellybean cuvs these days.
What's killing minivans is the cost of them. The Caravan is the only one that's priced realistically. The Odyssey and Sienna are pushing 50k when you equip them. The Kia at 45k. Nobody is paying that money for an overloaded car frame people mover. When u can get something way more cool for that money. If the manafacturers get real and make a 20k minivan they would sale more. That's why that old caravan out sells all of them even today cause brand new the cost is starting at 19k after chrysler discounts which makes the Caravan the only realistic option for real families that have multiple children.
I would still get the Caravan. Its just sooo much cheaper then the others. And for the cost of the other Minivans, you can buy a moderately optioned SUV with 3 rows of seating, better ride height, better ride quality, proper 4wd, and will probably hold its resale value better. Yes the Dodge is up there in the years, but the cost savings make up for it.
I just bought a new 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan for $23k it's a nice van I can even watch DVD movies well I am parked and it's pretty fast van I have beat some other V-6 cars on my grand caravan 3.6 engine is strong
I tend to hate modern Dodge products and thier service, however, the company I work for uses the Caravan and has used and/or rented the gambit of the other vans featured in tcomparison. At the end of the day, I must say that Grand Caravan is pretty solid an the most versatile of the pack. Despite my dislike of Dodge, I would buy this van. In fact, I like it so much, I'm looking to buy a pre owned one and just have it serviced by my personal mechanic. The families reviewing these Vans point out things that dont concern me, like "cool buttons" on the dashboard or sporty looks. I'm more concerned with practicality, price point and reliability. This last incarnation of this van, in my experience, is pretty awesome, In true Dosge fashion, they are going to get rid of it to try to push a crappy Fiat designed Ram ProMaster City, or that we like to call, the ProMaster "Shity".
Why not include the pricing for the Caravan and Town and Country as was done for the other vans? Price matters a lot for many, and as such when price is included, the Caravan could easily be the best choice for a lot of customers. What do the other mini-vans do that the Caravan doesn't? The differences are minor. They all do the same basic functions and stow-and-go seating is hugely convenient. Unfair to compare a $47,000 minivan with a $28,000 minivan without factoring in the price difference - as if it does not matter, when clearly it does.
Shut up, the grand caravan is a lower mid trim, town and country is a top trim. You really should have concentrated in your review on the usability of the van for a family. The only one that shines in that category is the Odyssey. It has the most number of seat positions for carseats, has the highest safety rating, and has more usable storage than any of the other contenders. When a family is concerned, that is usually the very top of the list of needs. It's also getting a new model in 2017.
I went with Town and Country. The Foreign vans weren't on my list with what they ask for them and just look at 2008-Present USED Chrysler/Dodge Vans for sale with 2,3,4 hundred thousand miles. God forbid they don't have the "softest touch" materials...... the sad thing is Chrysler now went to the Pacifica to answer Car snobs like these and left the family looking for an AFFORDABLE van in the dust.....

Hey guys, did John ever do a review of the Hemi Chrysler Aspen Limited? Looking into buying one, but I don't purchase anything John hasn't given his seal of approval to.
+Ryan DeClue if I remember Chrysler produced very few of those SUVs so there may be no review for it. read up on the dodge Durango of the same model year (because they are based on the same platform) the review could also be on motorweek website.
Watching in 2020. I had a 1968 VW BUS. Work had me drive an E250 van, and had a Scion XB. I now own a 2013 Chrysler town and country. My next vehicle will be a minivan. Probably KIA or Toyota.
Here we have the 2015 Mini-van line up reviews then you can go back and watch the 1985 Motorweek Mini-van review video..quite the change they have made...Chevrolet and Ford are not in the 2015 but were high rated back in 1985..The 1985 Astro is still a very sought after minican work-horse to this day although it can only be found used..they discontinued the Astro many years ago..
Everyone loves the sienna and odyssey in a comparison where they aren’t paying for it, once families get to the dealer and see that those two are $8k more than a comparably loaded grand caravan I doubt they’d be as enthusiastic
I grow up on muscle cars and i loved the big full size American cars but nowadays i think the minivan is the best type of car in the market,it got everything

Being a father with lots of kids, we rely on our rear seat entertainment for sanity. The Kia is a nice looking van, but does not even offer that as an option. C'mon Kia! They will install a small lower unit on the back of the center console at the dealership, but what about the passengers in the very back?
+Drew Peters I noticed this today as well when I was at the Kia dealer checking the Sedona out. I guess one could always go with an after market pop down monitor. Not as clean and integrated as a stock unit though.
The Dodge all the way! Design, stow'n go, engine, practicality, price! These people in this "test" are not testing acceleration, braking, mpg, road handling, towing, ... I don't care if the dashboard looks a hint "cheaper". This doesn't make a winner or loser. I have had vans from different manufacturers. I even liked my old '96 Dodge Caravan with the 3.0 liter Mitsubishi engine. Chevy Astro's, Chevy APV, Opel Zafira OPC, Plymouth GC 3.3, Dodge 3.8 and now a '19 Dodge GC. Used as a mini camper. Best for travel and no one notices you. The Pentastar 3.6 is quite fast. 28 mpg on the Interstates doing 80 mph. And plenty of room and practicality for long travels.
the conveniently left off the fact the the full loaded dodge/chrysler are less tan the rest they tested here. if you want rear seat entertainment it is ONLY AVAILABLE at the others top trim levels.... you can get it on a $30k Dodge... a 15k difference.... and that is a real family feature.
Great review. Only problem was the Chrysler . I like the van and I've had to rent a 2014 model, but what do you mean by a nice interior with luxury accents? The front seats are nice, but the entire dashboard is only made of hard and cheap plastics that smell strongly of former bankruptcy and false promises. Same with the rear door panels. No padding and mostly cheap plastics. I just don't get why they don't use soft touch vinyl or rubber-ish materials like back in the 1990s.
While not a Chrysler fan, the new one looks pretty cool and is going to be offered in a hybrid trim. The competition better be ready. The Toyota is just plain hideous looking. At 47k too?! No thanks
Wonder what ppl say about the choices they made now after 6 yrs. and resale value. I’d guess the odyssey and sienna is easily double what the other ones are

This video is a joke, an advertisement for ANYthing but Chrysler. It TELLS about the Town and Country, the Grand Caravan, but NEVER tells the MSRP. which if you are on a budget are BY FAR less expensive than the Honda, Toyota, KIA, but never tells you how cheap you can get an UNLOADED Caravan with an MSRP of somewhere around $25 and Loaded around $32 or less with incentives. Compare that to the others at around $45k.... forget anything but Chrysler.
All those electronic gadgets, safety features, emissions controls, and luxury amentities make minivans expensive. It's not like the 80's or 90's, where minivans had basic features, such as fabric seats, dual-climate control, and rear audio controls. Even things, such as Android Auto/Apple Car Play and Auto-Pilot mode, could be introduced into the minivan segment.

For me I'd keep Sedona at # 1 but swap sienna for odyssey for 2nd and sienna 3rd. And definitely say 4 and 5 are the Chrysler minivans, they're long in the tooth. But I hear redesigns are a year out for the bottom slots
Horrible review, grand caravan is not a top model and the town and country is a top model. doesn’t have as meany features, of course you’re going to be saving more. Next time compare base models or top models, not a top model and a mid trim, not how it works 😂😂
Dodge Takes the Top spot. Since Chrysler is Basically dodge Is 2nd Nissan Quest is A really good one! Toyota sienna is kind of basic. Sad to say that Honda is last. :(
+Manny82pr you may actually be right. This KIA is really ugly, but the Nissan Quest is probably the worst looking minivan ever made. It is deplorable. Sad, since Nissan has one of the best V6's on the market.
Noooo its not! It controversial! It's different! It's dares to be different! I hope Nissan and moterweek see this and understand it. If Nissan understands that if they bring Elgrand style ques I think they would sell more along with its features! They can be above everyone but they have do it just right! 😠😇
The Toyota Sienna with its useless 2nd row tiny seat reminds me of a bloated fat person, but still like it better than the Odyssey (my brother in-law owns a 2015 Odyssey, which is a bit too radical for a minivan inside & out. It's like Honda wanted to design a "cool" looking minivan for folks who have that anti-minivan stigma. Looked at and test drove the Sienna LE, XLE and SE before getting a 2016 Dodge GC in R/T trim in Aug. 2016 with the factory tow pkg. in black with its black accents (my "Darth Vader" van) my final price was about $8K below MSRP, about $3K less than the best price at that time for a Sienna LE with no leather or power liftgate.
They need to bring back a 4cyl rear wheel drive minivan with 150hp tops. That gets 40mpg and carries 4x8 sheet of plywood on the floor. Why in the hell would you need 250-300hp in a minivan? And front wheel drive?
***** Fucking front wheel drive vans don't last 200k miles. You have to rebuild the whole front end every 150k miles. A friend of mine has a sienna and he had to replace cv axles, ball joints. Everything in 220k miles. I have a Previa with a solid rear axle at 302k miles now, nothing was ever touched on it as far as axles and ball joints. ALl looks brand new too.
+Rediscover Film The only reasons why the Honda and Toyota sell well are due in part to people still licking the sac of the Japanese, thinking they're still "the best". This has been far from true for a while now, but sadly in the land of traditionalism, people have still believed in past reputation over current facts.
In my opinion, you guys probably should've talked about safety, and how the dodge/chrysler failed the IIHS small overlap crash test . I think people who are thinking about buying a minivan will care about safety features and safety ratings. After all, most people care about the safety of themselves, and their family.
The trouble with your channel is you release too many videos in one big lump and it fills up your sub's subscription list. It's too much too quick. Try different themed videos on different days of the week so your fans can look forward to their favorite Motor Week shows at regular intervals. Your current strategy looks like spam and people just scroll past. Your views per video are very low vs your actual subscriber count and I suspect this is the reason.
Stow n Go seating. Don't think anything can beat that
i just bought a grand caravan. the full stow and go is is what makes this the most versatile choice.
“We really liked the whole... steering area.”

For a multi purpose van you can't beat the Dodge.
I like how you don't show the Price and Mileage Graphic for the Dodge and Chrysler. Thanks, that's really helpful. /s

IKRR LIKE THE DODGE CARAVAN IS CHEAP AND A GOOD PRICE LIKE JEEEEZ AND THE BEST AND NICEST VAN LIKE WTHHHH
For me I'd keep Sedona at # 1 but swap sienna for odyssey for 2nd and sienna 3rd. And definitely say 4 and 5 are the Chrysler minivans, they're long in the tooth. But I hear redesigns are a year out for the bottom slots
Howdy? It's really attractive. kick draconian What's your opinion about that, guys 11
Horrible review, grand caravan is not a top model and the town and country is a top model. doesn’t have as meany features, of course you’re going to be saving more. Next time compare base models or top models, not a top model and a mid trim, not how it works 😂😂
grand caravan any day
"Kia has a powerful motor" while the grand caravan has 283hp😐
3:32 pop in what?finish your thought lady .
Dodge Takes the Top spot.
Since Chrysler is Basically dodge Is 2nd
Nissan Quest is A really good one!
Toyota sienna is kind of basic.
Sad to say that Honda is last. :(
aww Nissan why not participate!? ugh😡
Hate saying this but Nissan mini van is really ugly :/
+Manny82pr you may actually be right. This KIA is really ugly, but the Nissan Quest is probably the worst looking minivan ever made. It is deplorable. Sad, since Nissan has one of the best V6's on the market.
Noooo its not! It controversial! It's different! It's dares to be different! I hope Nissan and moterweek see this and understand it. If Nissan understands that if they bring Elgrand style ques I think they would sell more along with its features! They can be above everyone but they have do it just right! 😠😇
They knew they would get bad ratings lol
The wife from the "family reviewers" I despise as much as her husband... The word she was looking for was dashboard
typical Motor Week review. They run it by the marketing dept. for edits before they run it by you "the potential" customer.
I've never understood the want for a van over a suburban
More comfortable ride, an affordable both price an repair.
We got our van for $15k brand new when it was still cheaper for a van vs $50k for a suburban.
They need to bring back a 4cyl rear wheel drive minivan with 150hp tops. That gets 40mpg and carries 4x8 sheet of plywood on the floor. Why in the hell would you need 250-300hp in a minivan? And front wheel drive?
these weigh shit tons and filling the whole thing up on a trip makes it so much worse. merge power and passing power are shitty even at 300hp
The Dodge holds 4x8.
*****
Fucking front wheel drive vans don't last 200k miles.
However these vans are WAYYY over priced by about $10,000 why the hell are people buying these at those prices is beyond me !
T/C all day long
#1 Kia had the least air time it seems....
Because no one cares about it. This review is a joke. Honda and Toyota dominate this segment for a reason.
+Rediscover Film Yet the Kia Sedona still won for a reason. Its design, features, reliability, and price are still better than its competition.
+Rediscover Film The only reasons why the Honda and Toyota sell well are due in part to people still licking the sac of the Japanese, thinking they're still "the best". This has been far from true for a while now, but sadly in the land of traditionalism, people have still believed in past reputation over current facts.
+Jo Co You actually believe this nonsense. Go buy one and find out how great they are. I'll stick with Honda and Toyota with PROVEN TRACK RECORDS.
buy a (mercedes benz metris passenger) and have the best mini van ever!
Zazur chrysler
Car 🚘
My mom will not buy a minivan she got a crossover
In my opinion, you guys probably should've talked about safety, and how the dodge/chrysler failed the IIHS small overlap crash test . I think people who are thinking about buying a minivan will care about safety features and safety ratings. After all, most people care about the safety of themselves, and their family.
I❤mini vans, I don't have mini van hang ups, those who do, should seek psychiatric help.
Sienna and Odyssey look awful. Dodge Grand Caravan all the way.
One of these cost over 47000 shit
