So glad to see this video. I have an L2900 that at least looks the same and mine is leaking. Now I know what to expect inside! I eyeballed mine but I didn't expect 1) the snap ring and 2) the separate race for the seal.

I’m about to undertake this procedure on my 2012 L45… I so appreciate what you’ve done including the drone footage. Lol! Time to invest in an impact wrench see if Milwaukee fuel offers a nice one

I hope you know that you'd have the perfect how-to video if at 9:15 when you was taking hub off spindle you'd showed how or what was holding hub on spindle, but then at 9:21 it magically appears on work bench. It would've helped a lot if I knew for sure that it was only that one snap ring that holds hub on, I was banging and prying an hour trying to get my hub off, my manual was useless.........
But I can understand how videoing flub dubs can happen, I was videoing my L3400dt on how to do same freeken job but forgot to push record on taking hub off, and I had a great camera angel on the 2nd hub to, but all I ended up with was a small portion of other side with most of me in the way of camera. So now theres still no good video on YT of L2800 and or L3400 front hub removal, I vote you do yours again so to get the right video info...........

Lol! I did the same thing with removing that hub and forgetting to hit record. I was hoping people could work backwards from the reassembly part to help with removal of necessary and then I had a Timelapse shot of the other side. You’re right, we do need a good shot of that! Hopefully I won’t be doing that again for another 10 or 15 years! Lol! Maybe someone else will do theirs by then! Hopefully yours turned out well after the install. 👍🏻

Got a 2021 L2501HST, front end looks identical. Kind of crazy to think a c-clip is really all that holds the wheel & outer axle assembly on.

Exactly! I had pictured completely different in my head before I took it apart and started working on it. Good to know they are still using this design. Must mean it’s pretty reliable! Love my Kubota. Thanks for watching!

At 8:20 you removed the snap ring. Then you removed the steering arm. Then the unit magically appeared on the workbench. How did you get the unit off?

Lol! Sorry about that. I didn’t realize I edited that out. After the snap ring and tie rod removal, I barely tapped the hub on top and it basically fell off. You can see it in the Timelapse section on the other side briefly. Hope this helps.

You didn't replace the race? Mine also had a race on the spindle but the new oil seal didn't come with one. Kubota parts didn't know anything about a race needing to be replaced but I did take it off and showed it to them. Is the oil seal a new type that doesn't have that race?

Mine either came with the race or the parts guy knew to include it because I had a new one for each side. I believe it came with it though. I didn’t explain it in the video but I cleaned the spindle where the race would set and tested the new one to make sure it wasn’t too tight and then put some sealant on the spindle. I then put the race into the seal before putting the housing back on the spindle. I used a floor jack to push it up and into place. It took very little force to seat the race. You can see the race in the seal just before I put the ring gear housing in place. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Hey Bruce, did you ever figure out the race situation ? On my Kubota it doesn't show a metal race on the seal or the parts diagram. One of the reviews stated that we supposedly didn't need the race with new seal.
