@@AnomadAlaska your cutter is probably a really good quality mower. You’re right. I can’t remember exactly but I believe I gave somewhere around the 1800 dollar mark. Install wasn’t too bad. I made the quick couple mount for mine. It came with a pin on mount for a cat 308 excavator I believe.

I am currently making a video of my custom mount for the bobcat xchange system to adapt to this flail mower. Great video.

@@TheJohndeere466 I was almost able to buy one with a factory 6V53 in it. Seen it years ago on marketplace somewhere in North Carolina I believe but it sold before I got a chance to message the seller and get down there. That was the only one I had ever seen. Nice truck you had!!!

@@MountainMindset I wish I still had it. Originally it was a single axle semi but it was converted to a dump truck. I used to put 10 ton on it and then it weighed about 33,000

It had air windshield wipers and an air ride seat and of course an air horn. Lol

@@adrienst.raymond6801 I’m not positive that it is a 7.3. I was only going by the head bolt size which is 1/2”. I’m not sure how accurate that is for telling what engine it is though. Do you know any other way to tell?

@@MountainMindset I know the bore of the 7.3 cylinders is 4.11”, I think you’re right with the 1/2” head bolts though. I know the 6.9 had smaller head bolts and that was the weak point for those engines, I just don’t remember the exact size. 87-88 was the transition from bullnose to brick nose as far as I know for the obs fords, I’m just not if that was also the transition from 6.9 to 7.3

@@adrienst.raymond6801 I should have measured the bore while I had it apart! I didn’t even think about it. 🤦‍♂️ Lol. 7/16” is the 6.9 head bolt size if I’m not mistaken. Seems like 87 or 88 was the 6.9 to 7.3 transition too. I’m not sure either. 👍🏻

So what lol filter housings are changeable, I'm currently running a 6.9 filter head on my 7.3 lol

Would recommend throwing that thermostat in a pot of oil on the stove with a digital meat thermometer. When they get old they like to get sticky

I finally found a welding gas supply shop that agreed to fill it after I went to a hydraulic supply place and pieced an adapter together so the welding supply shop could hook it up. Finally I had a spare argon tank that I exchanged for a nitrogen tank and used the adapter myself at home. So far so good. Lol. It’s not easy for sure!

I spoke with Rut before I bought this Chinese mower and they were super nice but had something like a 6 week lead time when I was looking at buying years ago. I bought this mower just to try out for the price. I agree I’m a little rough on it but I’m really trying to see how it holds up and if it breaks, I’ll probably end up with a Rut. Lol. Thanks! @@MountainMindset I got my east and west mixed up, duh! Same people from way back, just different states. My Mama's side were from Kentucky and Tennessee. Moved down here for land after the "war of northern aggression". I would love a top and tilt kit. I'll just keep hoppin' on and off the tractor with a wrench till I can afford one.

I wanted the 57 but could never find one at the time. I never really thought about spreading it. I just pulled the loose vines off of the machine and went on my merry way. Lol. I’m definitely gonna be checking now! I don’t want that stuff brought home with me! Good call!

@@MAXhomesteader I’m not sure of the brand. I got them used. Some are pretty universal I believe. I called a guy locally who installs them and he cut me the new legs for them so they would be taller. He already knew what I needed when I told him what I was doing. I would recommend someone to help and to start as level and as square as you can.
