Picked up on bogus charges with a complete lack of evidence, because police are trying to rush a case or close a case and find the accused because of public pressures. Charges that are even "fabricated" by police officers, in order to make an arrest. Or because of an allegation with no other proof or evidence, an people are arrested and made to "prove their own innocence. If they can even afford an attorney, otherwise a public defender will ensure that they go jail. Trying to convince people to take a plea deal, even if they are innocent. Even I've been falsely arrested for a marijuana dui, an it wasn't in any way unintentional nor a mistake. The office conducted the entire stop himself, took me out of dash camera range. An literally LIED about the entire field sobriety test conducted, so he could take a blood test. Because he smelt some cannabis in the car and couldn't find anything, in fact I'd have been better off having a bag of weed in me or in the car. Cause he would have simple made that arrest and issued that ticket. But instead because he found nothing, he implicated that I had been smoking and must've been impaired. However know damn well I was sober and performing the tests perfectly fine, when he decided halfway through the field sobriety test. To walk me a good 15 to 20 yards away from the front and side of his cruiser. To lie about every other test performed, an because I had trace amounts of thc in my system from literally days prior. I'm a "zero tolerance" state, I was forced to take a plea or cough up 3k to 10k for a private attorney to fight the case. Which WOULD have been dropped, because he had no justifiable reason for even pulling me over in the first place. But still with the possibility of facing a charge or having to pay even more to have a toxicologist price that the amount of thc could not possibly have been enough to be recent enough to have been impaired. Even within 24 hours, that officer knew exactly what he was doing and how he was abusing the Laws in place. The public defender wouldn't help in doing anything, an claimed that there was no dash footage of the traffick stop or interaction and field sobriety test that followed. Existing or that could be obtained. This kind of stuff goes on WAY MORE then people think it does, I had actually just prior to this occurring. Been reading about absurd dui arrests in California etc. An a man that was driving erratically an cut off a cop, who got pulled over. Arrested for dui, who even after his blood work came back completely clean. They just wouldn't drop the charges, an continued to press the dui charge. Claiming that the "CAFFEINE" he had in his system / blood test, could have impaired him and was enough to charge him on cause it's listed as a stimulant. This system needs to be thoroughly cleansed out and radically changed.
