the offer programs & some take them serious & really change in a number of years & still they’re in there for life. Ive seen so many people rather just get death row then get life. Out of 2,000,000,000.00 million people in jail 20,000 are innocent. 1 in 25 on death row are innocent. Even though it sucks.... the numbers are very low. So 4 people out of 100 on death row are innocent.

I guess they use "statistics" just as in war or in any other venue. Like Medication. It can save 100 lives but kill 5... so in statistical arenas this becomes an acceptable fail ratio. Sucks but It's what we have. There is no fool proof method as of yet. Until then.

Another reason for not liking the death penalty.
Here in the UK I have served jury service twice (two weeks on both times) there was always someone who didn't give a crap and wanted to find obviously innocent people guilty, so they could go home..... Sickening, thanks to us decent people they didn't get their way.

This is what happens when you have a justice system where guilt or innocence are irrelevant because no one is terribly interested in solving cases and all revolves around closing them instead. With police forces being terribly overworked and only have a short amount of time to spend on each case before having to move on to the next since no politicians wants to approve more money to hire more detectives, there is always pressure on those officers to close cases whether they have the right guy or not. Careers depend on it, prosecutors and district attorney's reelections depend on this......... so when a possible suspect comes up that somewhat fits the bill, he/she is booked, end of story. As far as the courts and trials go, well a jury is as impressionable as the audience at a theater and whoever comes up with the better and more convincing story wins and evidence is really secondary. Here in Texas there are a number of people on death row awaiting execution who were convicted on purely circumstantial evidence, a death sentences imposed when prosecutors had zero physical evidence, but the accused happened to not have a solid alibi and he happened to fit the bill. I'm not saying that everyone behind bars is innocent, but this sort of stuff happens a lot
