Yup asking nicey works much better than just saying that "like and subscribe" line that everybody says. One guy would say on his videos "and dont subscribe to me", so that worked too cause it was funny, lol. Im bad at following comands, but good with polite requests.
Something that’s interesting is that Jolan and Anna together is Jolanna a actual Spanish derived name. much like how you can take Jolans ashes and fuse them with the puppet ashes of Anna
@@sinfulxsociety After defeating Ymir, she will be near where you first meet her. She will say she is unable to see, give her the Iris of Grace. This is how to get Jolan’s ashes, after getting the ashes go behind the shaman village. You need to carefully go down the cliff behind the village and fall on the very tall sorcerer rise. In the rise you can find Anna’s body, interact with her and you have option to add her.
Jolanna means Violet Flower which is interesting but another possible combing of the names is Joanna a Hebrew name meaning “God is Gracious” which could be a nod to Jolan and Yimir’s relationship especially if we relate this to “Joanna, wife of Chuza” from the Bible who was healed by Jesus so she supported him “provided for Him from their substance” is how it’s written she is now considered a saint and Myrrhbearer
there's def something up with the black flame incantations insignia godslayer seal and armor of night + metyr's face, it's just too uncanny that it is so similar. Also the giant fingerprint mark on the map is the same. sword of night also has the same markings on the handle. i don't know what any of it means or if the GEQ is even connected here, but maybe the black flame was a product somehow of Metyr.
It’s also interesting how there’s no mention of Metyr being the mother of the three fingers as it species Two Fingers and Finger Creepers there’s also the fact that Finger Creeper’s are weak to fire, the gazing finger also interestingly has frenzy like scaling with it getting boosts from Intelligence and Faith but unlike Frenzy it favors Int, she’s also described as broken so perhaps the three fingers is what broke off of her
I believe that because Ymir built Manus Metyr over Metyr to prepare a trap, and once she fled, he grew angry, because now he has the retribution of the true mother of fingers coming after him. Altering his fate in the stars.
These types of side quests are basically like mini books in the wider story. They’re so intricate, well done, and captivating. Ymir a manipulator who seems to just want to be nothing more than a mother of fingers. Raising a band of personal knights in a gaol. And once they grew up didn’t even bat an eye and killed the two who were non compliment. And Jolan following a false hope to a man that shouldn’t have been her shinning star to follow, being so arrogant to not see Ymir for who he really was and find her own star. It’s so GOOD. How the heck is this side quest in Elden Ring have a better story than the WHOLE of a triple AAA game??? Say want you want about the DLC bc to be honest there is a lot to dislike about it. But Miyazaki can, and still will write a captivating story, and that’s really important.
The fingerprints on the armor set definitely show a direct connection of the Swordhands to Ymir, I don't really see any other reason they would have the armor fashioned that way if it isn't because of Ymir's finger mommy issues. So them being raised by him in order to serve him makes perfect sense. What I find to be very abstract and elusive in this particular questline is what exactly is meant by the darkness and the night that the Swordhands grew up in. Does this have a literal meaning of them being blind(ed) and promised the light of the stars by Ymir, or is there some more spiritual meaning to this? The theme of blindness is definitely a FromSoft classic so I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case here as well. So if we assume that they were also physically blinded in order to make them more likely to serve someone who promises them light, this just adds that extra bit of depravity to what Ymir was doing to them.
Funnily enough in my play through I gave the occultation to Queenlign and the grace to Jolan. Essentially giving each one the opposite of what they wanted.
Jolan would actually prefer to see the light of the night sky. It's the end that Ymir promised to her but he's full of bs. Giving her the iris of grace would make it possible for her to reunite with her sister. It's an act of sympathy for the Tarnished' part
There’s just one thing I don’t understand about all of this. What is the night? Like…what is that black energy? Is it like The Abyss from Dark Souls? Or is just some form of shadow manipulation? I can’t find anything on it and it doesn’t just end with the sword, shield, and claws. There’s the Sword of Darkness aswell. Completely unexplained. If you have any knowledge on what the Dark Energy is…mind letting me know? I’m very very intrigued by it.
I think of it as another power of the cosmos. Glintstone sorcery focuses on celestial bodies, to me the night is the space between those bodies, infinite and black.
7:22 I thought this armor set being found where it does, was to imply that this is where the Nox’s faith and seeking for a Lord of Night began seeing as the Nox and Numen are meant to be two sides of the same coin. I just assumed Jolan and Anna were the anomalies, choosing to follow Ymir instead of their people.
With the claws, armor description, and look, don't they remind you of another mysterious black clad knight in the soulsborne series? Another who used claws and had armor that was cold to the touch?
@@square-table-gaming yeah, but if he wants us fighting the mother, if anything his puppet should help us, not hinder us.... of course, that's IF he wants us fighting her...

Interesting to note that both the Sworn and Claws of Night deal primarily slash damage and inflict bleed, two of Metyr’s biggest weaknesses
Hmmm that is interesting, then the magic damage is probably just cause it’s Void adjacent
Beat Ymir into a pulp is what I'm hearing. Finish his quest line and beat him into bloody pieces.
You ain't wrong
Then beat his pieces.

YAY! New Vid! I'm going through Manus Metyr for the third time, then, THIS video dropped! SWEET!

I opted for the Iris of Light, and the spirit summons of the two sisters; it felt like the better option. Next play through I’ll get the sword. ✌🏼
It was absolutely the better of the two options. The sword looks wildly cool but it's not great
Sorry Dolly, but I'm saying move over Jolene, I be singing Jolan, Jolan, Jolan, JOOOLAANE! 🎶 🎵
Jolan is a lord of the rings cosplayer, dont @ me
@Gordon-mf3ho I @ed you.

👏🏼 great video
I want to do right by Yolan snd give her the peace she deserves but man that sword is so cool
There’s always NG+
Yeah the print on the front reminds me of metyr as well
I just realized that I’ve watched 3/4 of your Elden Ring videos and yet to click subscribe. Well that changes today.
Always appreciated!
That great sword big as hell 😂😂
I had just assumed that she was associated with Sellia some how and because of that I figured ymir had some connection to it as well.
Born deep underground? So are they the brethren of the folks from Nokron and Nokstella?
I don't believe so because they're born in the gaols.
They are such good summons, only one from SOTE I like as much is the Divine Bird he's a beast
Great video

I wonder if there's some link between these two and the Abyssal Serpent

I don't believe so. The swordhands of night seem to be trained from birth specifically for the purpose of serving a singular master.

It's upsetting that they are by far the coolest looking summons, but have such awful health.
Rock is better
More reason why Ymir is not the mommy I want.
I wonder if they're related to Night Cavalry.
Nope, completely different group of knights.

Initially my impressions as well, however that doesn't seem to explain why Anna attacks us when we first enter the basement...
She's already a puppet. Ymir has her defend that place when he is not sitting on his throne

im curious if they are supposed to be Nightfolk tho.
Since the nightfolk are supposed be Rare.
Hard to tell. They're sisters but their skin tones are wildly different even though their actual face models are almost identical
so ensha was a sister?
Nah no connection between them
Bruh, I have 3 characters and I have never found that guillotine with the armorset and shield in Bonnygaol. LOL This game is too big for me.
Are they related to the Night's Calvary? Second cousins maybe?
Nope, wholely unique
Can you just kill ymir the moment you meet him?
Nope, the game doesn't allow it. You probably can through hacking.
