This is just the writer in me, but I think I know how to do a 4th Matrix movie and possibly made it good. Here's my pitch for Matrix 4 (aka 'Matrix Revelations'): "A full decade following the events of Revolutions, Morpheus receives a message to reenter the Matrix from the Oracle, asking to go to the Club Hel, where Merovingian is waiting with her. Although skeptical, Morpheus goes and speaks with her, who reveals she has forged an alliance with Merovingian. When asked why, the Oracle replies that she has discovered the truth and that it's all been a lie. However, Club Hel is invaded by Agents who kill everyone, including Merovingian. After escaping back to her hideout, the Oracle warns Morpheus that the Matrix will soon be rebooted for a more updated version, which will wipe out herself and everyone else, and that once the Matrix is gone, his world will be next. However, he is suddenly forced out of the Matrix by an unknown source before he could learn anymore. Believing that the machines have found a way to sustain their source of energy without humans and wish to restart the war, Morpheus tries to warn the council but is ignored as there were no Agents anywhere near him and that the machines have honored their peace. With nearly no one believing him, Morpheus decides to reenter the Matrix again to search for the Oracle and learn more. He is attacked again by Agents but is saved by a man who looks like Neo. The man identities himself as Neo but not his Neo. Although suspicious of him, Morpheus goes with him to meet the Oracle, who addresses the man as Neo and thanks him for his help. Demanding to know what is going on, the Oracle reveals that she was approached by 'Neo', who shared with her a disturbing truth: "There are two Matrix(s)." Using his powers to connect with him, 'Neo' shares his memories that reveal the Matrix not being a single simulated world but rather a complex one. Two main worlds were created: The Apocalypse World and the Matrix. The Apocalypse World would act as the real world, a lie to comfort those who believe they were rebelling. And the Matrix, where the deception started. Even the war against machines was staged, along with the Chosen One were all lies to control everyone. Everyone who is human in both worlds are not being used as power sources, but rather for neural networking. After Neo had died 10 years previous, he slowly became something more than his programming and would eventually tell the Oracle. In a way, he had become on par with the Architect, able to move undetected by the machines. Morpheus is disturbed by this, unable to believe that none of it was real, but Neo further proves his story by asking how Zion could be destroyed so many times and humanity being allowed to continue, let alone be unaware of Zion's location if they've already destroyed. Oracle reveals that the entire Matrix is going to be rebooted once again, as it has before, so that the cycle can continue, but also to reset Neo as well. The machine world does this to keep humans from figuring things out. Realizing that would mean everything and everyone would be rebooted, Morpheus asks how to avoid it. Neo reveals that the only way to do so is find the Core of the Matrix, in his world, and provides a location. Plus, he only has a few hours until the reboot is complete. Once leaving the Matrix, Morpheus shares what he has learned and manages to convince some of his followers. Stealing a ship, they escape Zion and journey to find the Core, as they are attacked by Agents and machines along the way. Neo appears and reveals that the machines in the real world are trying to stop them but he's been keeping them at bay. Once at the Core, Neo helps them fight off the machines and Agents, just as the reboot commences. Reaching the Core just in time, Morpheus and several others, including Neo, are sent to the real world, where they greeted by a bright light. And a "To Be Continued" appearing before the credits." And that's my pitch!
There were to many things that didn't make sense in the movie for me to enjoy it. All the things that have already been mentioned, but I still haven't understood why it's modern time in the Matrix. It states in the originals that the machines chose the 90s to place the matrix. If that's the case why is it now 2021 in the Matrix but 60 years has passed. Side note: The Thing shirt is amazing!!
It's a new version of the Matrix. Why can't matrix be off time? It's 20 years in our world in matrix it can be 60 or 100 years easly. From the movie perspective modern time is the best choice cause movie is about what's real and what's not. Movie is again like original tells the audience that you are living in the matrix.
He’s definitely a good actor just not the right person for the role he had in this film. I feel like a lot of his lines were meant to be taken seriously but the way he performed them made them come off as funny when it shouldn’t have been if that makes sense
OMG, WAS I RIGHT?!?!?! I haven’t seen the movie, only the second trailer and the Nerdist Matrix 4: Resurrections Trailer #2 Breakdown & Easter Eggs video. In it (or at least in the comments) I theorized that maybe the two armies that we saw that were seemingly at war, were in actuality the machines in the middle of a civil war. So was I right?
I would love to see y'all react to Screen Crush Matrix Resurrection: Easter Eggs and Ending explained. He sheds a lot of light in a very dark reviewed movie in my opinion. He has most of the answers for a lot of questions that I've seen most reviewers have on the movie. Just something I'd enjoy seeing Greg watch.

watched it, the message of the movie is clear. What doesn't work is the movie itself, its story. I couldn't even say if it's badly told or not told at all, but I wasn't entertained. I do appreciate the multiple layers this movie has, but those come only after a deep analysis...and it shouldn't be like that.
I had a Matrix showerthought the other day. Get rid of NPH, give that role to Johnathan Groff, & leave Smith out of it if Hugo wouldn't come back. That would have improved things remarkably
Most of the people I know that saw it, saw it more than once. It has a pretty fair score too on IMDB, rotten tomato, and metacritic. On rotten tomato for almost the first time in decades the audience score is nearly identical to the critic score too (64%/63%). However, it still managed to lose almost 100 million dollars globally. Not sure I understand.
Matrix4 is based on junkie slang like trilogy on programming code previously. The consumer society is portrayed as a digital and pharmaceutical addict fleeing real problems in the world of video games and drugs. Back to the roots. Neo chooses to self-isolate his mind in an incubator. The circle of rebirths is complete. End of the movie ... Everything ends where it started... in the matrix under control of deus ex machina. Happy new year!
I don't hate Matrix 4, but I also don't see why it had to exist. But most importantly I can see a good movie in there that was cut out on purpose by Lana so she could get out of whatever contract they had her under to make more and I think she out right told us that in that "WB is making it with or without us" line. Unlike Justice League which I also knew there was a good movie hiding inside the shit movie, I can't see Lana caring enough to go back and make "The wachowski Cut" even though I suspect all those important edits still exist and there's good if not great version of this movie could easily be made.
Why new Spider-man or Batman movies have to exist. It's the same story on and on. People like those characters, they want more. With Matrix ppl like not only characters but the world, setting.
@@dencheq The difference is SM and Batman aren't characters with complete stories. The Matrix was a complete story. It's not like making a new Batman story, it's like trying to make Citizen Kane 2. You don't do that.
@@northwindkey the Matrix is a complete story of two characters - Neo and Trinity but you can do many things with side stories and other characters, other times. Especially when in last movie Neo and Trinity were ressurected. Matrix is about the world and setting mostly. It's like aliens, predator, jurassic park and other movies. SM and Batman in the movies have their reboots over and over again.
I finally got to see the movie and loved it immediately. So I've been waiting to see your spoiler review. Guess this was it. Having watched other spoiler videos about it, I feel better about liking it. At least I know I didn't make it all up in my head. What I also think is great is that we can have different theories about it still. It's not cut and dry. I think how much you like it depends on what theory you come up with.
I liked it too. It was one of two movies of this year which I have watched from start to end. Usually I watch movie for an hour and take a break sometimes even for a couple of days cause I get really bored. 6.5/10 from me
I agree. I loved this movie. It's one of those rare few that actually subvert expectations in a brilliant way. It was very self-aware and took place in a modernized Matrix, which was why it was choreographed, shot, and edited like a modern film. If *anyone* directed the movie besides a Wachowski sister, I'd probably agree with a lot of the criticisms out there. But people have to remember that these sisters *WROTE THE BOOK* on innovative filmmaking. If Lana wanted to make it look and feel exactly like the originals, she could have. In her sleep. And that's exactly what makes what she did with this movie brilliant.
I would have been down for a movie about the machine wars. Heck, it's sort of what I was hoping for. Not the garbage heap. About the only redeeming thing about this movie was the trailer song that I am now hooked on with Alice and the pills. Side note, not saying this movie is the worst movie ever. Just the worst of the series.
Neo had to get trinity out because the analyst would have killed her if he didn't get back in his pod so it wasn't just "she's gonna take her kids to soccer practice". This skit was pretty funny but idgaf i still think this movie rocks lol
Ppl mad about casting Ppl mad about action an karate an the movie itself made fun of those ppl with "bullet time"😂😂🤣😂the beginning fucked with ppl heads but it's merely just another sequel the story was absolutely on point , as was the action Lotta ppl didn't like part 2 and 3 This movie can be looked at as an epilogue OR a whole new trilogy especially with his new rogues gallery
Everything is easier people are wackos who don't know what they want. They call 2nd and 3rd Matrix shit for no reason. Same time they like kids movies that don't need any brain work. Then they ask some smart movie and when they get one, they don't understand a thing. I feel like people are so fcking stupid
what the he'll wb was thinking when they were green lighting this project , and you know what they have given keys to make more sequel to this movie , further proving wb is the dumbest company on the planet
I could tell from the trailer that the film would be awful. Keanu couldn't even bother to recreate the Neo look, the cinematography looked really cheap and Fishburne and Weaving avoided reprising their roles. 2/10
the new should`ve acted as a direct sequel for the first Matrix. saying that 2 and 3 who dont exist does terrible movies dont exist where just a dream neo had after being drunk af. cheap but everything is better than does stupid movies
I thought Greg would like it more after a rewatch. 'Cause I kinda felt the same after leaving the theatre, like... "what was that?" But time passed and I kept thinking about it, and it went from "meh" to "I actually adore this movie" for me. Certainly not without its faults, some of which Ryan hits on - Neo's force push and a lack of fight choreography. But it sat with me and has gotten better and better each time I've thought about it. I also had a rewatch and enjoyed it a lot more the second time around. Once you know what to expect, I think it's easier to buy into. I'm gonna go check out that Screen Crush video now too; see if they've caught anything I've missed (I'll bet there's a lot!). Great video as always, guys.
Resurrections is one of those rare few movies that actually subverts expectations in a brilliant way. It was very self-aware and took place in a modernized Matrix, which was why it was choreographed, shot, and edited like a modern film. If *anyone* directed the movie besides a Wachowski sister, I'd probably agree with a lot of the criticisms out there. But people, you have to remember that these sisters *WROTE THE BOOK* on innovative filmmaking. If Lana wanted to make it look and feel exactly like the originals, she could have. In her sleep. And that's exactly what makes what she did with this movie brilliant. I mean, did you somehow not catch her directly referencing the way modern media looks and feels through all of the self-aware dialogue and the Merovingian's rant and then choreographing, filming, and editing the action like she was directing a Marvel film instead of a Matrix film? Come on, guys. Wake up. Every single bit of it was intentional.
I thought a similar case about it as well- with this film being the Sister's rebellion product- but i'm still not fully sure with it. It's understandable people will be disappointed tho
That's fine and dandy but if you're going to make a 4th movie using the matrix name to sell tickets the AUDIENCE wants to see the matrix because they liked the old movies. Why on earth (or in the matrix if you prefer) would you change a winning formula?
"which was why it was choreographed, shot, and edited like a modern film" That doesn't explain the slow ass fighting, the god awful quickcut editing, and the lack of any good visuals. Intentional or not it sucked. It's more important to make a good movie than it is to make a subversive one. As well, you say it was directed like a Marvel film? Except Shang-Chi had BETTER Matrix-style martial arts than this Matrix film. And no Marvel film has quite this level of Taken-style quickcut bullshit. And for the record, the Wachowski's weren't as innovative as you think. The Matrix was already ripping off Dark City and merging it with already existing martial arts films. Nothing The Matrix did was actually original, it was just done in such a good way. Plus, the ending just sucks. Trinity has all of Neo's powers now? The Matrix was really a love story the whole time? Bullshit, Neo and Trinity never had chemistry, it's like the one thing The Matrix actually did really badly. I'm sorry but no matter how pretentious you get with "Oh you missed the point!" it doesn't change that the film was irritating to watch.
I definitely enjoyed seeing the characters again but the movie wasn’t good. It was like the last season of GoT, love what they did before but this Matrix was just a lazy written mess.
loved the movie as a piece of art (I also love most of the Wacho productions, bar Jupiter that I didn't really like), I loved it more as a Matrix fan, really. It works better if you're into that AND Cloud Atlas/Sense8

And a "To Be Continued" appearing before the credits."
And that's my pitch!
I think the other pitch meeting John was talking about is the justice league one but not sure
Hope everyone is having a great Christmas/holidays!
Neil Patrick Harris is a good actor
He rocked as count Olaf
He’s definitely a good actor just not the right person for the role he had in this film. I feel like a lot of his lines were meant to be taken seriously but the way he performed them made them come off as funny when it shouldn’t have been if that makes sense
They should have gotten the actor from Avengers Endgame that played Red Skull to play Agent Smith since Hugo Weaving.
1: That’s Avengers: Infinity War.
2. Hugo didn’t play Red Skull in that movie
@@Villager91-j6h I know. I was just suggesting actors you could have used for Agent Smith if you couldn’t get Hugo Weaving.
Not watching this movie in theaters was easy, barely an inconvenience
This is the real scream 5
This movie deserves to be roasted SOOOO hard and I'm here for it!
The pitch tweak was real nice
Man, these Warner bros. Middle finger cinematic universe films are getting out of hand
And of course are TIGHT.
The Matrix rules.
I have a lot of issues with the movie, but I actually enjoyed a lot of NPH's role.
Why is Melvin living alone in the town in Tremors, it makes no sense
Most ppl don't get a shit what this movie is about.
@@dencheq that's okay. I'm not talking about most people I'm talking about Greg. Only because he is a big Matrix fan. Thanks for the reply tho, sir.
@@davidortega6724 Well yeah. He said he's seen it already. Still would be cool I guess.
@@dencheq well shit I'll be damned. You can obviously tell that I didn't both even watching a second of this because I just assumed, which I should never assume things, but I assumed he didn't watch it. Never gonna do that again, I tell yah.
watched it, the message of the movie is clear.
You just don't care about the movie dude
@@dencheq Thank you for telling me what films I like & don't like. I never would have figured this stuff out without you.
@@Akeldama9 Thnx for telling Wachowski how to improve the movie. You are such a genius film maker
@@dencheq Well that is our jobs as the audience & consumer, to provide feedback & criticism.
Matrix Resurrections was a rescue mission with no stakes, with a semi meta intro. Sigh.
I actually did enjoy the matrix ressurection I enjoyed the meta aspects but also loved the romance aspect as well very different but enjoyable
You what’s sad? No Way Home had better fight scenes than the Matrix. Let that sink in.
I 100% felt neil Patrick harris was playing evil Barney doing a bit to hook up with a chick and I was totally ok with it haha
This movie was hot shit you must have severely low standards.
I liked it too. It was one of two movies of this year which I have watched from start to end. Usually I watch movie for an hour and take a break sometimes even for a couple of days cause I get really bored.
6.5/10 from me
@@stardustdragonx3612 I don't think I do. But I like what I like. I don't care if anyone else agrees.
What A Waste Of Keanu Reeves.... Another Woke Diverse Mess...Where They Turn Neo Into A Shell Of Himself And Give Trinity All The Powers.... HORRIBLE
The story is trauma and what it does to a person even in The Matrix that isn't that hard to get imo. I loved the movie a whole lot.
trauma... that's from the other movie...
Except it totally drops the trauma theme after the first 40 minutes...
a warner bros matrix movie without the Wachowskis might of been better tbh
Neo had to get trinity out because the analyst would have killed her if he didn't get back in his pod so it wasn't just "she's gonna take her kids to soccer practice". This skit was pretty funny but idgaf i still think this movie rocks lol
Yeah i can only see barnie? Barney? Wtv too xD
Let's go they've seen HIMYM let's gooooo
The first movie is the GOAT. Still is.
This movie was....okay. To say the least.
11:07 John is red with embarassment at the absurdity of it all😂😂
Ppl mad about casting
Ppl mad about action an karate an the movie itself made fun of those ppl with "bullet time"😂😂🤣😂the beginning fucked with ppl heads but it's merely just another sequel the story was absolutely on point , as was the action
Lotta ppl didn't like part 2 and 3
This movie can be looked at as an epilogue
OR a whole new trilogy especially with his new rogues gallery
Christina richi was the best part of the movie I wanted to see more of her Character or he’ll at least put her in the matrix!
I think if you make something that goes against the creator it turns into the 'Childs Play' remake i.e.: UTTER SHIT. 💙
Everything is easier people are wackos who don't know what they want. They call 2nd and 3rd Matrix shit for no reason. Same time they like kids movies that don't need any brain work.
Then they ask some smart movie and when they get one, they don't understand a thing. I feel like people are so fcking stupid
@@dencheq You are correct. The world is a strange place indeed. Keep the faith, though.
what the he'll wb was thinking when they were green lighting this project , and you know what they have given keys to make more sequel to this movie , further proving wb is the dumbest company on the planet
No that award go's to disney😂
I enjoyed the movie but also get the criticisms.
The new matrix was amazing
I could tell from the trailer that the film would be awful. Keanu couldn't even bother to recreate the Neo look, the cinematography looked really cheap and Fishburne and Weaving avoided reprising their roles. 2/10
Honestly he was probably under contract to keep his look for Jon Wick.
Movie felt very rushed and the pacing was too fast.
the new should`ve acted as a direct sequel for the first Matrix. saying that 2 and 3 who dont exist does terrible movies dont exist where just a dream neo had after being drunk af.
cheap but everything is better than does stupid movies
The Matrix Is Awesome!!!! Great Reaction!👍🎬
Awesome? Haven’t watched it but all I’ve heard it’s just a copy of the first and it has far left wing antics because of some women ethics.
I feel bad for Keanu and I don’t blame him for how bad this movie is he did what he was told to and with what he had.
Are they baked
For some ppl it takes more time to get used to certain things. After half a year he will be loving this movie saying its awesome except action.
Matrix should have ended at 1, it had a great ending didn't need anymore movies.
The pitch meetings recently especially matrix 4 and (unfortunately) no way home felt a bit off. Not funny, clever or creative whatsoever.
I’m in before 400 views

This movie is going over a lot of peoples heads. and they think they have it figured out.. lol
"which was why it was choreographed, shot, and edited like a modern film"
That doesn't explain the slow ass fighting, the god awful quickcut editing, and the lack of any good visuals.
Nice joke
Art spear entertainment released a new video so can you guys please react to it
This movie ruined my childhood. Just needed to say that.
“White guy villains”
Didn't see it, don't want to see it.
This movie was objectively garbage but at least Ryan George can make a good review
Absolutely Awful Movie how could you watch Twice
I don’t care what anyone says, Matrix 4 was a ton of fun, plus I laughed my ass off at all the meta humor in the movie.
