The 100 kills a lot of characters too. Only 5 of the original 100 are alive at the start of season 6. Granted there were never actually 100 actual characters but there were a lot more than 5.
@@charlieprichard6844 They didn't kill them all! You still have: -Front man, who sere there before (hisotry to develop) -the cop is alive -the recuiter -VIPS (more VIPS) -Organs dealers They can do something. Do they have to ? NO. I'm satisfied with one perfect season!
I always felt that the purpose behind the tug of war episode wasn't about who won. It was about "how exactly does this group of disadvantages make it out of this situation". That's the entertainment, It's not about who wins, but how. And all the strategies they used were pretty cool.
The thing about the actual squid game is that every korean(the target audience) knows what it is. So there is no tension building up to what it is going to be.
for the final squid game, basically the Offender needs to decapitate the squid's head (Gi-hun crossing over after blinding Sang-woo who tried to stop him) and stand on top of the squid's head (the tiny circle). The Defender basically needs to protect the squid by stopping the Offender by all means. Thus why the Front Man said it's one of the most violent games played among children.
I assumed that the loan sharks have some type of connection to the Old Man. Like a 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon type of thing and the word got passed down that his debts were settled.
I think the loan sharks are directly involved in vetting potential squid game competitors and get paid off for each one they sign up. In the first episode the loan shark has Gi Hun sign that form with his blood which I think begins the process of his initiation
You guys need to check out the videos that point out the small details that got lost in the translation. Like when Ali was calling for Sang-Woo, because of the way that he was pronouncing his name, he was actually referring to him as a brother.
You wouldn't need to make it a Remake/Reboot, you could just make Squid Game USA as a Spin-Off Series - As long as bring back the V.I.P.s - since we know that there canonicly are Multiple Squid Games, across the globe.
I like this idea WAY more then a straight reboot. These actors & characters were impeccable. You could get Pratt, Pitt, Clooney & DeCaprio & it still wouldn’t compel the same way…maybe Tarintino directing
funny. one of my complaints about the finale is that they dropped the ball with the titular squid game just to be another hollywood-like fight in the rain (like i havent seen that before). on of my other big problems is how they did Kang Sae-byeok dirty with that random chunck of glass
I heard a theory that the masks the guards wear were made to look like controller buttons because they are the ones controlling the players. They are the buttons the Front man pushes to control the game.
I was seriously worried about having a seizure during the blinking lights fight. I’d look away, but wonder what I was missing. I kept repeating that until the fight was over.
I realized on my second time through the series (so sad!) that the pink jumpsuits aren’t PlayStation buttons, they’re parts of the squid board for the squid game! It’s a circle, a triangle, and a square, and so are they!

I particularly like two of Ryan's points, firstly about the Front Man suddenly missing his rent, and the other about what if Gi-Hun hadn't walked away from Il-Nam like he did. Hilarious and smart points. Otherwise, I think the other jabs could be explained. The cop didn't just go on to the boat and assassinate people, he tried to blend-in but when the masked guy pulled out a knife, it totally became self-defense for the cop. As for the Squid Game game, I think it's probably better that they didn't really focus on it. I get that it's the name of the show so maybe it should have had a bit more focus on it, but it's clearly a "you had to have played it as a kid to understand the enjoyment" kinda thing. From the first episode -- to most of us non-Koreans who haven't played it -- I don't think it looks particularly interesting, haha. It's maybe like hopscotch but with defenders? Totally good with me to have it just be a baseline for Gi-Hun and Sang-Woo to mostly just have a very emotional and gruesome fight to the death.
Unfortunately, there were a lot of people who watched it dubbed… my father been one of them 🤦🏻♀️ I caught him watching it dubbed in English and Spanish subs and I literally told him “what the heck are you doing? I did not raise you like that. Shame on you!!!”

"So, ya have a pitch meeting for me?"... "Yes sir, I do". Yours sounded like two clips abruptly attached end to end and his sounded like one continuous conversation. lol... Have you ever noticed how he does that? Like, when the camera shifts to producer guy, you still hear writer guy for a second. Sometimes they even talk over each other. I really liked the English Dub, thought they synced up with the characters extremely well. Definitely missed some stuff in translation, but in the case of the VIPs I didn’t feel like they almost ruined the show, so that’s a positive.

Fun fact: during the dementia part, the old man says "I lost AGAIN" (or so it was translated as), which technically gives away his trick.
That first guy the cop killed was self defense, the angry PlayStation button attacked him with a knife he was just trying to knock him out before that
