Yay! Glad to see a video from you guys again!! What a mission with the ferry 🤦🏻♀️ must’ve been such a frustrating way to leave such a beautiful island. At least the ferry was empty-ish. So beautiful arriving at Athens at night, seeing the lights on the horizon. How weird that only one person can go in a taxi 🤦🏻♀️ some rules honestly makes NO sense!
Nice to have you back posting! Sorry you had to go through so much trouble so far past year during the pandemic and this is another one yet again. Glad everyone was so friendly and helpful at least. We really want to visit the islands this summer fingers crossed 🤞 We love Athens and had an amazing time there. Love how you did a Q&A towards the end, glad to hear your perspective on the islands from different angles, really helpful. Great video guys!
It has been a crazy first year of full time travel but we are completely undeterred and ready for more adventures too😊 hope you get to visit the islands, they’re beautiful!

Hi. We are planning to visit Santorini , Naxos , Mykonos soon. I don’t know if I missed something in the video. But what was the reason they wouldn’t let you visit Naxos??? I can’t find any info on that.
It was just some last minute rule changes due to covid which meant travel between islands became restricted. It should be ok again now I think. Enjoy the islands! We loved Mykonos😍

I've enjoyed following along the Greece travel and Kefalonia looked so pretty. Santorini is my fave - but I've only been to a few islands. Greek food is some of my favourite as well. Too bad you had to move apartments - hope you got some rest after that stressful day!
We love ferries normally but our experience of them in Greece has definitely not been the best😅 we were happy to have made it to Athens that day after thinking we’d be going nowhere. Greek food is so good 😋
This was filmed at the start of Greeces lockdown which is why we were beginning our journey back via the islands but the rules changed so quickly. Think it’s fine again now☺️
Hello Guys, so i undrstand traveling between islands restrictions have changed? We are planning on Honeymooning over Greece soon, where would you recommend staying in Santorini? Thanks and Pura Vida!
Yes the restrictions have changed now so you should be ok. Santorini is a perfect place for a honeymoon, there are so many romantic villas along Oia and in Imerovigli. The island is small but both those towns will give you beautiful views over the Caldera. Oia is the main touristy area with lots to do and stunning places to stay. Imerovigli is also stunning but a lot quieter. Have the best time! ☺️
I was in Serbia for 6 weeks late 2020 while EU remained closed to US passport holders. Was surprised Greece 🇬🇷 especially northern part was a favorite Serbian pre Covid holiday destination. Definitely considering Thessaloniki and Mt Athos as Serbs have such a close connection to these places. Wonder if these islands are equipped to handle all the pent up demand from USA 🇺🇸 travellers. We’re you subjected to PCR testing? I prefer antigen tests as they’re only $20 whereas PCR $160 when I debated going into Croatia 🇭🇷.
The only time we have had a test (throughout the entire pandemic) was when we first arrived in Athens off the plane, not sure what test they did but they randomly selected one person from each group: ruclips.net/video/LbZj8msPm-A/видео.html
i'm going to greece in a few days. so to get clarification, they will not allow tourists to island hop via ferry from santorini, but we can access other islands only from Athens, is that correct?
It may have changed since we did this but from our experience the rules do change quite last minute and often one company/authority is doing things differently to another. Apparently you can travel from Athens to the islands but we’re really not sure how things are right now. Once you’re at your destination you’ll have a lovely time as everything was much more relaxed when we were staying still in Greece, enjoy it’s beautiful! 😊
Great video! A question I have is, do you need to provide proof of a negative test or a vaccination certificate prior to departure for every ferry trip to an island?
We didn’t have to provide anything travelling between islands. The only thing that happened was when we first arrived into Greece (from Helsinki) at Athens airport they were doing random tests and Craig was tested.
@@TideKnotTravellers Interesting! The guidelines posted on the greece embassy isn't clear for traveling island to island but on the blue star ferries website, they seemed to say we would need a another new negative test or show proof of vaccination to travel from one island to another. It wasn’t very clear when we were there, I’d just say be prepared for a little confusion during travel days but the rest of the time it was lovely. Sadly rules keep changing and different Greek authorities do seem to have different ideas/rules.
Would be interesting to know what exactly the problem was with going from Santorini then to Naxos then on to Athens? Many people take a similar route. You just need to book a multi-leg journey (which essentially gives you separate tickets).
In normal times this journey would be fine but they apparently changed their rules due to a new lockdown and covid restrictions but didn’t think to tell their staff when we booked our ticket less than 24 hours before, we also repeatedly asked the staff in the office if it was still ok to do the trip and were told yes.
