    Good useful info unlike the many self posing videos. Seems a little too busy for me. My idea in finding a some what sustanable eco friendly place would be seeking out whole food plant base dishes instead of unsustanable farmed meat and dairy products.

      Are you referring to January 8th or August 1st? I assume you are referring to January. January is a very low travel season period and, honestly, not a good time to visit. Things shut down and the weather is not the best. I can't speak to flights, but I would recommend finding another time to visit Santorini. Perhaps wait until the spring. I hope this helps.

    Do you suggest renting a car or ATV if you are just visiting for 10hrs on a cruise?

    • @CORRTravel
      @CORRTravel  5 месяцев назад +2

      Oh how I would rent a compact car over an ATV, any day of the week and twice on Sunday, let me count the ways...
      Cars are MUCH safer (and handle curves better, too), you don't have to wear a helmet, are cooler (have A/C), you're protected from the elements (you won't get sunburned or whipped by the wind as it does get windy on the island), you have a better chance to secure your belongings, you can hook up your phone to a lighter or USB port for charging, some come with Google maps, they have cup holders, they can be reserved at the same price or less than an ATV (for example: santorini-rentme.com/), and they are MUCH, MUCH quieter. Personally, I think the ATV's and Quads are obnoxiously loud.
      Go with the smallest rental car available and reserve WAY in advance. Just make sure you know how to drive a manual, just in case they don't have automatics, bring your driver's license, and ask about insurance.
      Have fun!

    Do not go to Santorini, you will be suffer and disappointed.
    I would say, Santorini is the worst port call in this cruise. 100 % of the cruise passengers will not go back again, we all have very bad experience in this Island. They do not care about the cruise passengers.
    I do have very bad experience in this island. we have to wait more one hour to get the shuttle boat to shore, Santorini have very limited capability for the large cruise ship, after we landed at the bottom of the cable station, we learned that we may need to wait more than 2 hours for the cable car, so we paid the premium 30 Euros for the ferry ride to OIA, it took less than 15 minutes to reach OIA, once we go there, they rather send the empty ferry., they forced us to take the shuttle bus to the upper cable car landing, we were tired and exhaust, we end up to wait hours under the hot sun for the cable car down the hill, plus the shuttle bus did not drop us off near the cale car station. they drop us off at the beginning of the shopping area, and they want us to do some shopping, it took us another 30 minutes to reach cable station. We need to wait in line for another two hours for the cable cars. Plus many peoples are cut the line, and their security guard let their own people into cable car station without waiting on line. I will never go back to Santorini again in my lifetime.

    • @CORRTravel

      I'm very sorry to hear of your cruise ship experience. Please consider that islands, like Santorini, are facing resource issues when mass amounts of people disembark and descend onto the island for such short periods. It's much to handle.
      I hope you will consider traveling beyond the cruise ship and visit Santorini with multiple overnight stays so you can experience it, its culture and people more thoroughly. I'm sure you'll enjoy Santorini more.

    • @terminator7832
      @terminator7832 2 месяца назад +1

      @@CORRTravel if Santorini wants to relief the pressure at the cable car station, why they send the empty ferry back to the cable car landing from OIA, and force all the visitors back to upper cable car area and suffer additional two hours under 100 degrees heat waiting for cable car down to the landing area. They are not good business people, they just kick all the visitors away from Santorini and they will not return again.

    • @CORRTravel
      @CORRTravel  2 месяца назад

      @@terminator7832 Hello. I'm sorry, I cannot speak to how Santorini authorities run the cable cars or scheduling. Perhaps this is their way of pushing back on cruise ships as, like I noted, they inundate areas with mass amounts of tourists in short periods of time, causing other issues. I hear of more and more smaller destinations and island destinations complaining about cruise ships and the issues they bring. I would not be surprised if some places will start to turn away cruise ships altogether due to the rise in the human population descending on areas that do not grow in size. Just listening to the trend that's unfolding....
      Trust me, the Greeks are not terrible business people, and they don't hate all tourists. 😃 In fact, the people on Santorini are quite lovely and accommodating. Again, I invite you to step away from the cruise ship and travel staying more than afternoon - ideally not in the destination's peak season - to truly experience destinations and what they have to offer. You may find you get much more out of the destination experience. 😃

    "Don't go to Santorini." Stop right there. Santorini has been turned into Disneyland East and trashed beyond repair. The building of the cable car was the first symptom.
