I had three unmarked X5's going through the Blackwall Tunnel behind me all using different tones. Didn't make any difference. They caused more problems than sirens by swerving dangerously lane to lane as no one could pull over. Not the best driving from the firearms teams! Bloody stupid!

If you or your family members were waiting for the arrival of the emergency services I'm sure you wouldn't be happy if they waited patiently at red traffic lights for them to turn green, if they observed all speed limits or if they tootled patiently behind an obstructing vehicle. This will horrify you but I have also driven fifty yards on the footpath with Saturday morning shoppers having to dodge into shops. Never had/caused an accident except when I clipped the wing mirror of a parked car at 5-10mph on an icy road.

I assumed that you were a normal driver (or even a bus driver) that was traveling in the opposite lane for convenience, not for necessity and the saving of lives.

You King no u can look there is none with dog units u can see the ventilation hub which is normally on top of the car such as the old dog unit we have the Mitsubishi Outlander has a massive one which is easy to see but the new ford mondeo dog units have a small black hub on top

Since I'm still a n00b watching responding units from across the pond (you folks are more interesting than what I've seen here, plus I use to drive pumpers and ambulances here), a couple of firsts for me: a) interesting station tones, sounded more soothing than "hey, we've got a call!" b) the lights on the upper part of the box @4:00 that wrap around the corner instead of just a bar across c) on the box ambulances, on the back right - I presume that is a ramp to assist loading the patient or am I way off? d) nice how @4:38 the TVP van shut off his lights and siren knowing full well that it wasn't going to change the traffic in front of him at that light, then turned them back on - I'm presuming he wasn't running a code call (i.e., code 3 as we do here). e) I hope you're not driving @9:03, mate ;) lol Great show, as always, mate - love your channel :)
Tones were designed to be more soothing for FFs whilst sleeping (the traditional "bell" and the sudden wake up that came with it was apparently heart attack inducing) Code 3 being an emergency 999/ call for service. They call it an "I (Immediate) Grade" here. Sure the drivers are taught in situations like this to switch off lights and sirens (no point keeping them on). Jay pretty much answered the questions, ans as for the van turning off the blues and twos, it was going to an I grade (Code 3 in the Usa) but turned them off as there was nowhere for the cars to go without jumping the lights. On the box ambulances, the part you describe is a lift rather than a ramp - but it does the same job but with less manual handling.
