Survivial Mode with mods is the way to go. Recommend getting a sleeping bag mod so you can save anywhere, but still have to progress time/hunger/thirst/radiation etc.

It gets really boring over time to walk from one side of the map to the other on empty terrain, since the game at that difficulty takes 1 or 2 in-game weeks to respawn, until you unlock the Vertibirds as fast travel. Also, it doesn't solve the problem of enemies becoming bullet sponges, in fact it's worse, since you level up sooner and that only makes the problem worse, and on top of that they do double or more damage to you and you can die from 3 or 5 shots even wearing power armor, which makes for really unfair and unrealistic gameplay.
It is not like surviving in a real wasteland because you're the only person out there who can't get shot in the head and walk it off. The rest of the fuckers can eat half a magazine before they start to break a sweat.
yeah the level scaling in fallout 4 is really bad after like level 70..enemies become spongey no matter what difficulty. it’s more of a game of patience at that point. games still fun as hell though 💯

How about every damage you took resulted in the character getting bedridden for 3 Months? and you have to wait for 3 Month before you ready for some action again just like in the real life

No point in wearing armor unless its power armor, everything one shots you and the 50% damage boost you get doesn't do as much as you'd think. Enemies can still be sponges
survival mode is way more fun with the pipboy quick save mod + the dismember and gore mod which adds more reasonable limb and headshot damage without being too easy.
I've tried playing in survival but the game randomly freezers and all saved progress gets lost. Losing hours of gameplay on that difficulty due to forgetting to sleep to save killed it for me
Yup at some level game is very easy when you have chems & nerd rage + Agility/luck build & Deliverer , for me game is easy from level 25 , as you can get silencer on hunting rifle , combat shootgun , and if you scrap level you leave sanctuary on min level 18 ... but if you invest 10 in intelligence , get vault tech lab coat & ushaka hat + all you need for berry mentats + night person , you will leave sanctuary on level 26-27 :)
Making the game more challenging having to balance more stats like hunger & thirst while making enemies harder & limiting your saves is nice, but you know what isn't? Putting heavy limitations on how much ammo you can carry & having to stick to just a couple weapons as opposed to a full radial. New Vegas did this SO MUCH better.

1. You build defences , you need to invest in Local Leader , and build loot of turrets , and at least 1 missle turret .
