I'm just like John. I am happy to be the follower and I don't even like to make an executive decision. my ex was a closer and he ashamed me for being a follower. I honestly think we made it work BECAUSE I was fully comfortable him being in charge but he saw me as a loser because I'm a follower, even though he wanted to be the leader. I'm like relieved to hear John say "I'm a follower" with such a confidence

We started put relationship with what out expectations are of the other or the relationship in total and we agreed on what is fair and what we do in different situations where one of us couldnt meet those expectations we try and balance as often as we need to and try and communicate when things arnt being met or if we are struggling to meet those expectations. It works well for us. We never have fights we have disagreements for sure but its always balencing.

So how would one deal with a partner who is a closer who gets resentful of having all the responsibility but at the same time won't cede any power/responsibility due to control issues? I'd love to see a video on advice to closers on how to give up control in order to get equity because I find a lot of closers have vulnerability/control issues.

Any relationship is going to involve at least three entities--the individuals, and the team. If three or more people involved, it will also involve any grouping where one or nore of the others is not involved for whatever reason. Your suggestions don't discount any of that; you simply advise learning to deal with all the personalities involved. Whether its three or forty other personalities, it holds true.
Like Jono, I'm comfortable letting someone else lead. Last December, I took steps toward starting my own business, and I'm about ready to actually begin doing the work involved in making it successful, which at this point means the training wheels are coming off and I'm on my own. My partner and dad are both business owners. Both have encouraged me to explore the possibilities for years. Its scary, but I'm finally ready to attempt owning my own success, rather than supporting others in theirs. You guys have helped me more than you know!

What is this personality system with dreamers, healers, closers, thinkers?

They do explain it in a past video. Perhaps have a look through their past videos.

They cover the different types in their video, Marrying Your Opposite We're Too Different! around the 5 minute mark. (I tried to link it, but I think my comment got deleted) It's similar to a myers-briggs test, just with different names. Hope this helps!

Hi! Quick question -- is "stewardship" therapy or religious jargon for something? I'm not used to hearing the term applied to modern things that aren't like... a wealthy estate.

You may need to suggest that on Cinema Therapy, since that is the channel where Jono & Alan specifically analyze that sort of media, while this channel does so many other things.

I find your conversations interesting, but the personality types don't really resonate. I would be a thinker first for sure, but I also have traits of all other personality types that you list. Plus I am not an introvert (although I do enjoy being by myself, but I also relax while having conversations with people). My partner has thinker traits, but I doubt he would be dominant thinker. And he definitely does not feel like he can relax while talking to people, he strongly needs to be silent and quiet to relax. At the same time he has absorbed a value of being sociable as something he needs to do, so if he doesn't do it he can feel quite bad about himself. It is quite complex. Just 4 personalitybtypes do not really reflect reality in my experience

No all men deserve leashes, biscuits and tummy rubs but only when they are good boys. Sorry I shouldn’t be here though I’m helping the channel grow either way.
