Alexa has never even revealed her age, people think she'd really talk about her diet? The most she's said is that she drinks a lot of water now as she used to get terrible acne but that's it. Other than that, she's been seen with celebs doing Pilates but she herself has never said anything. Good on her tho, I can't imagine putting your lifestyle out there, doing what works for YOU and getting dragged for it. (Lori Harvey, anyone???)

Also Walmart, Amazon, and other corporations contract FDLS for construction projects. FDLS commits human traffic during this process by using free labor from it's followers. Not to mention it then supports the ability to have child brides.
Also, any product that has mica in it is inherently supporting child labor mines in India. In which parents and children are pushed or kidnapped and made to work. The children go down into the mine as young as 3 or 4 and there is a lot of death. There is no way to tell if mica is ethically sourced or unethical because corrupted politicians feed the black market mica into the same channels as the ethical. The only way it could be is if the company bought straight from the mine and they don't. If you email a company and ask them they'll tell you they only buy ethical mica and a record of all the batches is kept to prove it. If you ask to see it, which you can as a customer, you will never hear from them again.

Suggestion for video: Could you take a look at/discuss Ashley Salvatori? Particularly this video: ruclips.net/video/Q03zX8Jy4As/видео.html
It is a 30 day water fast with one meal a day within typically a one hour window. She encourages when you feel hungry to chew on your straw in your water cup, meditate until the thoughts of eating pass, listening to podcasts, working out, etc. to distract from eating because when you feel hungry it's oftentimes just thirst.
She seems very kind... but this video was sent to me by a friend with disordered eating who wants to attempt this fast - Ashley expresses it is working for her but I am hoping you can provide insight on the long-term factors/risks that could potentially happen from a water fast, OMAD, etc. if any. This just feels very dangerous and all of the comments are so supportive and encouraging of it. I feel like it is just educating on how to suppress hunger cues until they disappear.
Thanks if you read this xx

alright i have to say Alexa Demie is very private and has no public details of her diet. So it is obvious that it is just the media or whoever putting fake news out there. However Abbey is allowed to comment on these videos (even if the diet they're following isn't true) as the original videos would have a major (negative...) impact upon the viewers. For people saying it is 'unfair' or 'irresponsible' that she didn't disclose this, it is not her responsibility. She's just spent 20 minutes speaking very clearly and informatively about how this diet is negative for your body and ways in which you can pair it with healthier alternatives. Whether or not its Alexa Demie's actual diet, the video is out there persuading and exemplifying harmful diets and habits. Abbey has always combat these stupid fads with FActS. Love you queen

She does give trigger warnings every video. I feel bad for people that think life comes with a trigger warning. You can't expect everyone to cater to you like they don't have their own entire own life, doing their own thing, making their own content, putting literally hours and hours into every video. I feel like when I see comments like this, they seem completely out of touch with real life, completely thrown out of reality that content creators are just that, they aren't therapists and it's not their job to sit down and make a 10 foot list of triggers for people who shouldn't be watching content discussing disorder eating.

Just a question. Your sponsor is Caesar dog food and you advertise it as free of additives and coloring. Why is this such an important mention if you advocate for “balanced eating” including foods that contain non natural chemicals, additives, and dyes? I’m just wondering why you wouldn’t feed your dog these things because it’s bad for them but would consume them yourself and promote others to do the same even though it’s not natural for humans or dogs to consume those things?

I don't remember the video were Abbey advocated for junk at every meal. If this is all your dog is eating then it would be every meal and not part of a balanced diet.

Hi Abbey! Can you talk about diet culture and it’s ties to xen0phobia and hostility towards cultures that are perceived as different or “the other”? It just feels like a big topic right now with the backlash surrounding “cowboy caviar” and esquites. As a Latinx person myself, it would be helpful to have an ally reminding the broader mainstream culture that a culture’s foods can’t be cherry picked from their context and dropped into a different context - in many cultures, dishes have names, traditions, and a history that is really important to those peoples. It would be really great if you could collaborate with other influencers too!

I think this is dumb. Food is food. Just let people enjoy what they want. If it tastes good, why does it matter if it’s “traditional” or presented as being such. It’s just food. Not a hate crime.

    • @BC-np8cb
      @BC-np8cb 2 года назад +5

I didn't think this comment means that nobody can enjoy different cultural foods however they want. I think it had more to do with how the foods are judged or capitalized on by a more dominant outside culture in a way that can be disrespectful or not connected to their origins. Maybe it would help to ask the person who posted this comment to explain more about what they meant. I'm curious too: what is the discussion now around cowboy caviar and esquites?

@@cownameded6635 I guess I’m wondering what the research says about diet culture exclusion of other cultures and what that means. And I agree - food is definitely meant to be shared and enjoyed! But unfortunately sometimes dishes and ingredients come into culture without any connection to the place of their origin and that can be very damaging - and actually disruptive to the connections that have been made. I guess it comes down to processing the difference between appreciating and appropriating!

Hey Abbey, I'd love to see you talk about extreme cuts/crash dieting in the body building community. Eugene Teo did a 1000kcal a day diet a while ago and claimed it's fine and healthy and if you want quick results you can do it like that. A lot of people in the comments were relieved cause he basically gave them permission to starve themselves. I also found him to be quite disingenuous by saying that no diet is meant to be sustainable for life when he very well knows that by sustainable we mean we should be able to eat like that for more than a week. Of course, no one wants to be in a deficit for life. He also made some claims about how the metabolism cannot slow down cause otherwise it would slow down forever and starving to death would be impossible?? Like, come on, man.

As a Registered Veterinary Technician this Cesar’s endorsement makes me nervous. This isn’t a good dog food and I’d hate for someone to see this recommendation coming from a RD and think it’s a good food choice.
Pet food ingredient lists are ordered by weight and a pet food with meat as the first ingredient may look nice but a food with dehydrated meat meal a few spots down the list could be contributing more nutritionally than the one with it as the first ingredient.
There’s a lot of very tricky marketing that goes into pet food and it’s very hard for the average consumer to decipher and really understand what they’re buying and how their pet will actually use it and benefit from it.
Ps I love your channel and totally respect doing sponsorships in general!

I feel like ya'll are being unfair. Abbey is never criticizing the person, even if their name is in the title. She's simply point out the nutritional benefits (or lacking thereof) of these popular meals. The fact that it's tied to any celeb doesn't matter, food is food and unhealthy fad foods will be damaging regardless of who's name is tied to it. But, if a celeb's name is tied to any "diet" regardless of if it's true, people out there will see it and want to follow simply because it's tied to someone's name. So Abbey jumps in to point out the benefits, damaging affects, and healthier ways to take your own spin on these fad meals to make them work for you. That's all.
    TL/DR: everyone chill a little

It’s perfectly reasonable to have a flat belly… if you’re healthy, constantly active, and it’s just before your breakfast. After I drink my first cup of coffee, no more flat tummy. My grand babies never have flat tummies. Little Baby is just chunky, and her round tummy balances out her big round head, while Big Baby, a year older, weighs the same, is a couple inches taller, and still doesn’t have a flat tummy. Because eating, and what you eat, causes your guts to fill. Women don’t have flat bellies at any age, we aren’t designed that way. Being fertile means you have some padding, especially in the belly, which helps cushion the baby, and mama’s bones.
