BUT, the summon animation where Kratos swipes the blade in front of him makes him invincible, so while holding the blade you can hold L1 and press R1 twice to trigger that animation and it acts like kind of a parry (but no riposte). You can also do it by just tapping L2 with Zeus' Fury.
I like how most the weapons have lore. Like who is was forged/amped by, if it was given by someone special, or he just needed a weapon to counter someone (Heimdall)

Yeah I must be getting old cuz I remembered people preferring them over the blades of exile which looked like pretend toys. Blades of athena were the perfect level of ornate but still looking deadly while blades exile were garishly over designed.
the Blades of Athena had more combos than the Blades of Chaos, the only way i could see someone not using them was in GOW3 where you couldn’t grapple enemies with Athena's Blades but you could with the Blades of Exile
I’m taking deep breaths to get over all of the cut context between cutscenes because it’s a ton of significant dialogue that helps make everything flow better and make even more sense, but there are so many great cutscenes for them to still enjoy that I’m staying to watch, but I’m excited for them to get to the Valhalla DLC reaction.

That spear is just so creatively inspired, from Kratos’ culture, it being historically sound, and the genius integration of an iconic Norse mythological artifact. Also it’s very fun to play with

I love the Draupnir Spear If you were to have one weapons of all of these the Draupnir Spear and Leviathan Axe might be the best ones to have as it's easy to master both of them and they are very powerful
The claws of hades and the draupear spear are my favorite weapons of the series and it isn’t even close, the claws having all the summons you could use and the spear being able to throw indefinitely, explode, AND work it into combos is just perfection in my eyes

My personal favorite was the leviathan its mechanics and element along with the fact that it was one of the few objects that gave kratos sentimental value
Would just be design. However you can apply them in God of War 3 and they grant you a different abillity as opposed to the Blades of Exiles Spartan army move so theres a slight difference.

Spear is definitely underrated. I underrated it until I played Valhalla. This game genuinely made me utilise it and realise how good it really can be
Draupnir spear is the most creative weapon I have seen. For it's origin lore (Draupnir ring) and for it's mechanics.

I loved the nemisis whip! It’s magic and melee combat were so much fun and I think it would make a great re-addition to his arsenal
The nemesis whip was the best the most op weapon in god of war 3 hands down
For real if you max it out and have magic at max Zeus is easy even on hardest difficulty
Blades of Athena were my favorite. Mostly because I played GOW2 the most in my childhood, but also because I love its golden glow.
