      His reviews are good, but they are better for learning about the features than learning about the pros/cons. Kyle's not much of a critical reviewer. Not a bad thing, but I like to hear the bad side of each car along with the good, especially if it's something I'm thinking of buying.

      They need to nickel and dime you on every premium car. That’s where they really take in their profits. Most German luxury cars have optional features ($350 for Apple CarPlay) which seem ridiculous compared to competitors like Acura and Lincoln which give you most features you would expect in a premium vehicle standard.

    • @jeffgroves4533
      @jeffgroves4533 5 лет назад

    Man, that horn sounds cheap! C'mon, VW -- the Mk1 through Mk5 Jettas all had proper dual-tone trumpet horns. The Mk6 Jetta only has a single-tone horn, but it still sounds better than the wimpy Roadrunner "meep meep" horn in this thing!

    • @zayahpapanerosa3362

      All the VW in Europe and Australia have dual tone horns, even MK6 Jetta. VW USA Sucks! You also get stupid red turn signals (which use the brake lights) in the rear instead of the beautiful amber ones. yuk

    The new Volkswagen Jetta is a very nice car. It was pretty much time for Volkswagen to introduce the Jetta MK7 because the MK6 has been out since 2011. My Mom used to drive a MK3 and a MK2. My mom had a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta which had a black exterior which kept until I was 1 years old back in 2004. When she had traded in the Jetta that’s when she got her 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Before she had her 97 Jetta she had a 92 Jetta that also had a black exterior. She had her first Jetta years before I was born.

  • @_chan.burn.21_
    @_chan.burn.21_ 6 лет назад +3

    I for one am actually a huge fan of the new Jetta’s design, and as said in the review, it it one of the better looking in the segment. The only two aspects I don’t care for are the taillights and the exhaust. The taillights are more or less a nitpick thing on my part (they look like they came off of a Hyundai Sonata). However, I believe everyone can agree on this point, car manufacturers need to quit with the trend of fake exhaust tips, it makes them look cheap and lazily designed. If they could get rid of the one strip of the taillights that sticks out from the main assembly and give the car actual exhaust tips like the MK6 had, then this Jetta would look perfect in my opinion.

    • @JacobFrey
      @JacobFrey 6 лет назад

      Everything is a trade-off though, right? It will be upgraded in the GLI and that will be the model for the people that care about the suspension.

    • @DanielBlaney
      @DanielBlaney 6 лет назад

      the issue is that a torsion beam is not more comfortable. It requires you to either use a tighter suspension to get the same handling as an IRS or loosen it up and sacrifice handling. A fully independent setup doesn't require you to make that trade-off and often ends up with a more comfortable ride. The only reason volkswagen switched it is because its cheaper. They issue is that its competitors like the Focus and Civic both have IRS's and are comparable in price. They also don't have awful german car reliability.

  • @suburbanfarmer1
    @suburbanfarmer1 6 лет назад

    I really wish they(not just VW) would move the wiper control stick to the left like on a Ford Truck. It's not fun when banging through gears or simply changing the radio station to have your windshield get scuffed up on a dry day.

    Great Review Kyle, As always. By the way, how's the 240 going?
    As I said in Sofyan Beys' review of the 19 Jetta. I'm slightly disappointed in the engine. However I will play a wait and see game. Even though I saw this car at NYIAS on Saturday, obviously I couldn't drive it.
    Have to agree with others here the horn sounds a little strange coming from a car like that. Considering the MK6 horn was a little more "American" I guess you could say. It actually sound a lot like the horn in my 74 Beetle.
    My 2017 Jetta GLI has to go for service soon, so I hope they have one. I might be able to let the salesmen who sold me my car. let. me drive one, just to humor myself.

    Just wish the front turn signals were LED as well, or the LED DRL's were also used as turn signals, and LED fogs. Definitely a plain-Jane type of car.

    Volkwagen replaced the independent rear suspension with a crappy torsion beam this year. Both the ford Focus and Civic have independent rear suspensions for less money. The amber lenses on the back looks really cheap and dated as well. They should have used a clear lens with yellow LEDs instead.

      Tehgziz Lauw not really, a4 and a3 have the glis motor and awd, the car is much faster and performance is much better. This car is not sporty, my son has the 2017 1.4t and it could use this interior but even after his stage 1+ tune he's just a bit slower than a gli or and audi a3/a4. The rear seats have no vents, no heated seats, no usb or power, no map pockets for drivers side and the materials are all plastic..really sucks that they had to cut corners for rear passengers even in the top of line trim..sad
