@UC1vvayQSy47w5bq0xoeElkg he was just making a correction in the video. Ofcourse they wouldn't be using luxury quality and sport car level handling on an 18k car. Its call business. All the different VW owned brands are in different segments, so there is definitely no comparison between a jetta and a 911 or an A3 e.t.c. Just like Toyota and Lexus. VW is a mass production brand unlike its luxury subsidiaries.

The ground clearance helps me to exit my driveway that has a high curve into the gutter. This high level keeps from scraping as I enter and exit the driveway. My Mazdaspeed 3 scrapes it all the time.

    • @rreichar1

chocolatewheelchair Honda maybe. My daughter’s first car was a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. Bought from CarMax with 9500 miles on it. It basically fell apart in the next 28K miles. The tint inside the rear window turned opaque. Many pieces of the plastic interior started turning radically different colors. The fake aluminum plastic trim inside just started flaking off. Trim pieces fell off of the outside as well. Reliability was fine. I did have to have it aligned 3 times as the tires started wearing excessively. The paint also was fading noticeably when we got rid of it. She is driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 now which (hold the jokes) has been a better car than the Hyundai. I likely won’t buy a Hyundai again for a while. Probably will buy the Jetta as I am seeing the SEL trim at my local dealers for right at 22K. VW’s 72,000 mile, 6 year, bumper to bumper, warranty is great.

REQUEST: could someone somewhere PLEASE start testing car/suv's FOR OLD FARTS SUCH AS ME. I'd kill for a vehicle that is easy to get in and out of, has comfortable seats that don't hurt your posterior after 1 hr. in them, and are easy to drive , park, and load-up at Walmart!!! Thanks again, good video.

Nice review. I bought my first VW in 2016. A black Jetta SEL premium with the 1.8. Great vehicle. Kind of disappointed VW went away from the more powerful 1.8T. I am waiting for the new GLI to arrive, then I trade in....

    • @lucienl9465
      @lucienl9465 5 лет назад

GLI/GTI market that's why. 1.8T that we both have (my golf) has a ton of tunability and pushes out lots of power.
I personally would never tune a non GLI/GTI+ models due to different chassis
Also does save some fuel with less HP engine AND smallest of its class.

Nice review but as a VW Jetta owner I have to say this car falls flat. This Jetta as been
homogenized and Americanized it is the most un-German like Jetta.
The engine is anemic I know they increased the gearing to 8 speed but the car is slow.
The rear lights are taken from the 2016 Hyundai Sonata. Designer Peter
Schrier had this design when he was with Audi.
He took the design language to Hyundai/Kia so what AUdi/VW did to save money was to use
his designs and they are still doing so today. I am looking forward to the GLI hopefully there
might be something exciting about that car.

If you are thinking to buy a new VW JETTA 2019, think twice.
I bought this car in May 2019. The 8 speed automatic transmission, beside making a grinding noise when is driving at a constant speed of 30 to 40 miles per hour (+/_ 1,200 RPM), make an annoying vibration. The service department and the VW representative said that the vibration and noise are normal. I think this is the most ridiculos answer that I ever heard from a car manufacturer.
I when to different VW dealers and drove a brand new car and all have the same problem. Be careful when you test it, maybe you will not notice it at the beginning.
Just type in Google "Jetta 2019 transmission problems" and you will see.
Pd: This happens on roads not very steep as we have in florida.
    Thanks
