Thanks for the video, you saved my bacon. Driver's side door lock broke and I have to move in 3 weeks. Took it apart and realized part of the handle was warped. I'll do a proper replacement later, but resetting the handle worked for now. Thanks again!
Thanks for this video, I really appreciate the help. It WAS a little frustrating for me to do myself, but this helped tremendously. One question though...I did it on the same vehicle, a 2002 Tribute, but there was a window track in the way of getting the latch out which added an extra step. Couldn't understand why there was no window track on your truck? Definitely had me scratching my head a bit. Anyways...thank you!

Thanks for your videos! I installed a new actuator assembly in the front right of my 2001 Escape and it works. However, the piece behind the handle stands out above the hook when I tighten the long screw which keeps the handle from sitting flush. Any ideas what's wrong?
You probably just need to slide that piece up a little . The little flat piece I believe you place while youre slide locking the handle . Once its locked the handle should lay down under the spring properly.. With that in place theres just the small trim piece to hold it together from sliding out. Then just placing the screws. Hope this makes sense because I am having to jog my memory as its been a bit. Thank you for the feedback and thanks for watching.

Hi, I have an 06 tribute 3.0. And the other day I had cut my car off. I went to restart it and the car wouldn’t start I guess I didn’t have the car all the way in park I’m not sure but, all my doors will lock but the driver side door will not unlock. What could cause that ?
I have an 08 tribute and im not sure if my actuator failed or something is wrong with the lock. The lock rod can not be pushed down manually and the electric door locks do not work. Any idea if that would be the actuator and that its seized up because it failed?
Yes sounds like the entire actuator to me . Havent seen the manual part seize but must have when the actuator failed. Id take it apart and see whats going on before making anything . Thank you for watching

If the mechanical connection is not working the door , I would get a locksmith. Hope this helps.
