Ford Escape - FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT / REMOVAL (2001 - 2007)

Step-by-step guide on how to replace / remove / change front driver door lock latch motor actuator on Ford Escape SUV ( 2001 | 2002 | 2003 | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | HYBRID ). Power lock stopped working and you can lock the front door only manually? Most likely you are dealing with bad door lock latch actuator.

Replacing the front door actuator is definitely a bit of a challenge, but doable by yourself. First you will have to remove the interior door panel. Then unscrew and remove the exterior and interior door handles. After that unplug the door actuator and unscrew it. Remove the complete door latch assembly. Now disassemble the latch assembly or just replace it with a used one.

Once you have that complete assembly out, you would have to take it apart and remove that key cylinder. Sorry didn't record that part for the video, I just recorded how to remove the door actuator
