Without a doubt, keep it, paint it, and upgrade your speakers to be compatible. I've had several bikes in the Indian/Victory line and my wife and I put the most miles and had the most fun on the ones with tour packs. Better sound, better accommodations for luggage or helmets and infinitely more comfortable for your passenger. You'll make more/better memories with that trunk on there, I promise.
I added the tour pack to my '23 Chieftain Dark Horse Black Smoke. Paid full dealer price (Yikes). It looks great on the bike with matching paint. I don't use it except when I go overnight, but when I do I'm glad to have the secure space. You got an amazing deal. It will look great painted up. Btw, my wife actually finds the sissy bar more comfortable, and likes that she has some rails to hang on to.
I like it. Very functional and I don't mind the looks. (I don't even mind the color, but for $200 I'd get it painted.) Sounds like you got quite a deal. Ride with it for awhile solo and see if it affects the ride much with the weight , etc. IMHO I'd keep it.
Ya it’s definitely functional. The weight is pretty substantial at over 50lbs. I can feel it even moving it around the garage - tho I’m sure I could get used to it. I’m having mixed feelings about it. Maybe you’re right and I should ride with it for a while before painting it to see if it grows on me.
I’d keep it considering the deal you got in it but you could always resell it for some profit given how crazy pricey that thing is. Definitely keeping mine on the Victory XC Tour. All that extra cargo will spoil a rider.
My wife likes the idea of being able to lock up her helmet when we are off the bike. And the comfort is nice for her as well. But she doesn’t ride with me but for a few times each season so she’s also fine with the sissy bar and luggage rack. I just don’t like the looks.. and it’s really heavy too.
You always wanted to buy it, why the remorse ? Tourpack is for traveling & having more space storage, also better comfort for second passenger. A little compromise for the look but more advantages at the long run. Inside city or short trips, you can always remove it.
I fell in love with this color.. otherwise I may have gone for the Pursuit. But at the price I paid for this trunk.. it was probably worth the risk of buying it. I can likely sell it with no problem. At least I know I don't like it now.. and I'm not into it for the cost of a new trunk. lol
I guess I got used to traveling with the sissy bar and luggage rack. My wife only rides with me occasionally, but did say the trunk feels more secure when she sat on it yesterday. Also, removing and replacing it is way more of a hassle then I expected it to be. Its big, heavy, and awkward to manage. I'm definitely having a little buyers remorse. lol
@@randomstuffwithjoe I say if makes the wife feel more secure and only rides occasionally it's worth the hassle of mounting it. of course she might ride with you more do to that secure feeling she has. IMO the cost of painting and upgrading speakers is worth it since it's making your wife happy
I understand, Bike things are hugely personal. In the end, its about how you feel. From the age of 17 until recently. I was the owner of 2 cars and a motorcycle. (I recently had to sell my motorcycle, due to advancing health issues). I say...paint it. Look at it again, see if you feel better. (You can still sell it and be ahead $) ?
I think I’ve already decided that I don’t like it. And honestly, I can’t get quite a lot of storage on the bike when needed by using the sissy bar and luggage rack. But for the price I paid, it was worth the risk. I’m sure I can recoup my cost by reselling it.
Its supposed to be "quick release", but its actually much more work then I expected to connect and disconnect it. It literally took me 2 hours to get it hooked up yesterday. Now that I know whats involved, it should be a little easier, but still not "easy". Its actually very heavy so its difficult to do solo.
I gotta be honest, I had to suppress a gasp when you did the reveal. Wow, that is big and ugly. Oddly enough, I didn't think that on the Roadmaster and now I can't unsee. it. Is it possible that a tour pack from Advanblack would look better?
Ya. I think the Advanblack "chopped" pack will probably fit the lines of the bike better. I've seen a few photos and it looks good. I agree.. this Indian trunk is just too big.. and it really ruins the lines of the bike for me. Also, its really heavy. It literally ads about 68-70 pounds to the weight of the bike.. and I could feel it just moving it around in the garage. I think I'm gonna resell it and recoup my money - and not waste my time or more money re-painting it. The good news.. I got such a good deal on it.. that I could probably make a little money selling it if I'm patient.

As soon as its painted to match ur color... You're gonna love how it looks
Wife likes it is your answer. Repaint it and use it when she rides with you. Keep her comfortable on the ride.
You should keep it. Contrast is the keyword here.

better to keep and not need it, then need it one day and not have it. especially for that deal. adds value to the bike as well
I like it. I'd definitely keep it and paint it. Good luck 👍
Keep it and paint it to match your bike
Looks fine to me.
Don't worry. I get buyer's remorse from buying a bottle of soda and a donut at the convenience store.
🤣😆
your wife likes it and you are asking us? oh, and there is the bit that your wife likes it
I’d keep it considering the deal you got in it but you could always resell it for some profit given how crazy pricey that thing is.

@ Gotcha. I’m solo 24/7 mostly and practicing for one of those motorcycle rodeos.

What you worried about?. Personlly i woudnt even bother to paint it and use it as is
Keep it and paint it for long rides with the wife. It looks comfy and it looks like it comes off easy if you wanna just fly solo.

@randomstuffwithjoe
I would keep it and sleep on it for a year. Unless you need the money. Increases the overall resale of your bike as well.
I like it, repaint it.
Sold it last night for a $500 profit. 😂

I sold it the next day for a $500 profit. 🤣
I just didn't like the lines. Maybe I'm just not old enough to appreciate it yet. lol.
