I've been thinking I can just go pull an auto trans out of any dodge truck with the 5.2 an itll bolt up ...turns out I was wrong somebody pls help

    Thank you. I like how you filled the new filter with fresh oil . . . but never use old oil to lubricate the O ring on the new filter! Use clen new oil.

    What size oil filter socket

  • @davidrogers5180
    @davidrogers5180 9 месяцев назад

    Hey... 4.7 huh? I like the dual air cleaners. Kinda cool.. I've always use Castrol... My buddy had a Camero and the previous owner used quaker state and the motor blew so we tore it apart after installing a new one and nothing but sludge everywhere inside the motor. Also your Dakota calls for a ph16 fram oil filter... I did some research and the ph8 is the same size filter just 2" longer bigger filter. Also find an old speaker heat the magnet on back on the stove and remove it and stick it to the oil pan by the drain plug to catch metal... Let me know what u think..

    Awesome video! I have a few of tips. First one is wear a pair of rubber gloves (if you have any) to keep that oil off of your hands. Second, you could open the fill cap, letting it drain quicker. Third, you can use a funnel so you don’t have to make a mess on your engine. Good job, and have a great day!

    • @thekehmcrew
      @thekehmcrew  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for the tips! I appreciate the comment and support! 😎🔥💪🏻 as far as the funnel goes, I usually use one on my other vehicles but the fill cap hole is big enough on this engine to just pour straight in if your careful enough 👍🏻 might’ve been alittle hard to tell from the video

    Where did you get your air filter setup. I see you removed the stock plastic original one. Any vacuum tube issues or anything when you changed out. 4.7L?

    • @thekehmcrew
      @thekehmcrew  3 года назад

      It was actually on the truck when I purchased it, so I'm not sure where it was bought from, but I'm sure they are available somewhere online if you Google Dakota Dual intake air intake. I've had no issues with this setup and it runs great! Sucks in a lot of air and performs awesome! Thanks for watching!

    Where did you get that hood? Looks like you have a straight shot to the oil filter, you must of taken all the plastic crap off?. Also take your filler cap off after you've warmed the vehicle up, then drain your oil. My 4.7 takes 6 qrts.

    • @thekehmcrew
      @thekehmcrew  3 года назад

      It's an aftermarket fiberglass Cervinis hood. It was actually on the truck when I purchased it. I believe they still have it listed on their website. An thanks for the tip! I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!

    That's the life of the engine and if you keep it changed it will help keep your car or truck running for a long time. I have a '97 Ram 1500 with a 5.9 360 V8 auto and so far it has 270,800 miles, original engine and trans. I change all fluids on time and so far it's still going strong. If you don't take care of whatever you drive, then it won't last.

    • @thekehmcrew
      @thekehmcrew  3 года назад

      Couldn’t agree more! Maintenance is key! Sounds like you got some good life out of your truck / motor! Thanks for watching!

    Why is 4 quarts too much according to my dip stick? I have a 2000 V-6. The oil change shop told me it takes 3 quarts, and when I remind them, the level is on the D or less (never spot on) I have no noticeable problems 177,000 miles, good truck had it for 21 years! Pressure seems okay.

    • @thekehmcrew
      @thekehmcrew  2 года назад

      Hmm seems a bit strange? Once you do the oil change, do you let the truck run for 5 minutes or so to let the oil cycle? And then turn the truck off to check the dipstick? I know when I did mine once, I believed it called for 6 quarts on my 4.7v8 but when I checked the level it was too high so I’ve been getting away with 5 - 5.5 quarts. I use the 10w-30. Thanks for watching.

    Make a coldair intake instead of sucking in hot air that's all your doing with those filters like that run tubing off the intake to the front header panel for coldair... they sell the black tubing through jegs catalog

    • @thekehmcrew
      @thekehmcrew  3 года назад

      It helps that my hood is vented and is a functional ram air hood. The vents line up perfectly with the air intake. But thanks for the tip!

      Lift kits for the Dakota are spendy and really involved. I went dual exhaust with Flow Masters, Sounds Bitch'n, the Cold Air Intake wakes that puppy up!. I also run Lucas Synthetic Stabilizer Oil in and only have 60k on my 2000. My 4.7 is a Beast

    Would’ve been great if you could have told us the size of socket for the drain plug; whether a crush filter was needed or not; and how many foot pounds of torque on the drain plug! Since you failed on all of that important criteria, I can’t recommend your video to anybody! Wasted my time, IMHO!
