Thank goodness you put that hideous coconut/starfish lamp back. At first I thought you were joking until you left it in your cart for a while, then I thought you had lost your mind. When you put it back, I breathed a sigh of relief!
For future reference, the Polish pottery piece at 3:18 is called a teapot warmer. You place a tealight candle underneath and light it to warm a teapot or really any other dish containing gravies, sauces, etc. Thanks for sharing your finds!
The Polish Pottey piece around the 3 minute mark is the bottom piece to a teapot set. It's the warmer for underneath where you would have a lit candle to keep the pot warm.
I really enjoy watching When you’re in the basement pulling your items that sold. Have you made a video of when you met Roger? I’d love to see that one. Love watching all your videos thank you for being so thorough and shopping
The backpack was cumbersome, idk how you can keep an eye on it since you can't see it anyway. Do what works for you, the way it works for you. You don't need advice, you know what you're doing, anyone who thinks otherwise isn't paying attention. It ain't broke, don't fix it. Good finds. Always interesting.
Karen you are talking about leaving the Thrift Store in 20 minutes...lol....I can remember when you packed your lunch, shopped the store, went outside to eat and back in again. God knows you worked your tail off long enough to leave. Amazing the things I remember....Good stuff
Good day! Awesome flea market finds I can see Ralph Lauren stylist putting together a room with your finds, that tray is awesome. My taste too, love your finds.
Hey girl. At our age we can do what we want and how we want. I tried wearing a backpack to source and it was awful. Kept bumping into things and made my back sweat. You’ve been doing this for years, you should just do you and not worry about what everyone else is saying. FYI backpacks aren’t really that safe either. I was with law enforcement and there were a few incidents when someone with a razor knife waited till the wearer was occupied, they usually work as partners and sliced the pack with a razor knife. Wearer had no idea. Wallet, phone, everything was gone. It happens. You’re terrific. Keep doing what you do and thanks for sharing.I use a carabiner to secure my bag to the cart. It’s joy perfect but honestly thieves will steal period. I tease my friend about locking up her house like a fortress when we go somewhere. She has huge windows all around her house. A brick is quicker than a key.
Karen all you need to do is strap your bag with a D ring to the cart and for extra protection use the kiddie seatbelt strap thru your bag handle. That is when your using a cart!
Karen you are cracking me up. "1971, so not especially old" That's a little more than 50 years ago. I know what you meant but that is definitely a vintage tray, very cool
That Polish Pottery piece retails for well over $100. Fun at the flea market today. The tray is from India. Found most often in tourist kiosks. Looks like Bob ate all the pickles. Quite right to leave the Rae Dunn behind. We have a couple of gift shops in town with left over inventory that they are trying to unload on Facebook marketplace. If a person wanted them for their own use, then its not a bad price. Love the gold utensils you found. That should do well. Lots of nice goodies today.
Polish pottery comes from Boleslawiec, town in south west of Poland very famous for its pottery. The kind of pottery you found is quite popular all over Europe and North America ( not sure about the other parts of the world). It is on a pricey side too.
Only a mother could love it!!!! When I saw you put that CRAZY lamp or whatever it is (looks prehistoric) to me. Thought this will be interesting to see what that sells for. You must tell us all. Love your content and as always you are so interested in everything, Makes for such fun watching you wheel and deal. Thanks
OMG, it was ugly yet very unique. It just looked a little scary. But it did make me laugh. Thank you you are wonderful. I just couldn't see you plugging that in in your house anywhere your home is just too beautiful. Stay well and keep doing what you're doing
Hello, I wasn't feeling the starfish coconut footed lamp. But I'm sure someone will make it look awesome in a stylish decorated room and I will be like I want that.😄
Small Wool rug with damage may infect your home if it has eggs from wool moths. I have heard you can put in bag if freezer for a length of time to kill them? 💕
Chopsticks: the Japanese word for chopsticks is Hashi, but as I remember from my Japanese language class (a long, long time ago) is that the word for Bridge is also Hashi. Both are spelled the same in English, sound the same when spoken, but have different written Kanji symbols. It’s similar to our words There and Their, same sound, entirely different meaning when spoken. Context is the clue. I also sometimes select items, when sourcing, simply because they are fun, different then my norm or that I find interesting, even if they are not likely a big ROI.
Hi Karen, I enjoy watching your videos and you have a good eye for things. I have a bunch of Rae Dunn in the antique store and it has not been selling like it used to. The starfish lamp was kind of weird so might be a good buy because people like unusual things. We cant catch everything although. I have been in the antique business for a long time and I am sure I pass up good things often. People talk of Niches but I have a hard time passing up something that is decent money, lol. Have a good day and thanks for the time and energy you put into these videos.
maybe keep some cash in your pocket so folks don't see you getting your wallet out. No sense letting everyone know your wallet is in a pack that is behind you out of your line of vision. They can grab it and be off before you can turn around.
Just wanted to say, I'm a new viewer/subscriber and I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm trying to get into reselling (it's going very slow due to my anxiety issues but I'm just striving to keep moving forward, albeit it slowly) and I am finding even with just the few of your videos I've watched so far that you have been very positive and encouraging to me!! And I so appreciate that. I try to find channels that will keep me excited and positive about starting but I have to say that I've stumbled across some that make me start to wonder if I should go ahead or not even bother, but I don't get that vibe from you, and that's what I need. So thank you so much for your videos! ~Robin
I went to the goodwill today.. i wondered what would Karen think about this? Only thing I saw that I wanted was a Renior print, looked online and the one at store was dirty. Oh well, try another day.
Afternoon ! The Desk Light you bought also comes with a Green Glass Shade . I have the green one . The lamp you have At home I made in Ceramic Class . I think they called it a Chinese Ginger Jar ? It was a long time ago . Have a great Wednesday Evening !
I love going to the flea market with you. In the booth with the Disney stuff there was a piece next to the banknyou pointed out that was a good piece. I wish you could hear us. Lol Thanks for another good video
@@lavenderclothesline I'm sorry. Maybe you can find smaller one or just take money in crossbody! And leave backpack in vehicle in case you needed it. You are such a nice lady and I really wouldn't want anybody to snatch your belongings.
Flea markets are a good place to BUY things OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE . The prices are usually fair . Maybe bypass all the ethnic bowls..... Those will turn up at Goodwill next week. Next month. Next year . Also , maybe look for "smalls" they are so so easy to ship !
I am Polish person in Australia. Pottery now in Poland is in fashion but most of them modern. I buy only Polish crystals which in shops very , very expensive and plus factory went overseas and is not this some quality. The best crystal is Krosno , it was original crystal factory which is not existing any more. And I buy porcelain but pottery is too harsh for me. And the one you been looking at is made just now , if you ever go to Poland they have factory carnival and they selling seconds on the tables on the market. You want sell this .🌞
"Odd......." that lamp was just sad and ugly and I love everything you pick up. I wonder if it was homemade? What is your new couch called again from Pottery Barn? Gorgeous!
I’m sure you’ve answered this a thousand times (or more), but how did you come up with the name for your channel? (Which I sincerely enjoy by the way!)
Hi Karen, I thought that starfish coconut lamp was just too weird to take a chance. Glad you decided against it. If it were painted maybe it would have looked better! Lol! Cheers, Pat
Not to worry, the one you saw had a disgruntled spirit attached to it... Cord being cut and all. You'll be blessed with an even greater find for having left that one behind! It will reveal itself when least expected. ✨🤗
Are you sure that item at 2:25 is glass? It looks like an eggshell to me. The way he handled it, it seemed to be very light weight, which makes me think it's an egg. Depending on what he was asking for it, it could have been a good buy. Some ostrich eggs can bring good money.
These seem like such small hauls compared to what I've seen you buy previously. 4th quarter about to start. Will, people buy at Christmas? Or will the public hold onto what they have? Gas, food, and everything prices? I can understand your holding back, sounded like you had other plans to get to that day too. I'm thinking that weirdo lamp might have sold, but yet being unfinished would have bothered me. And the ugliest of it, as well as shipping, would it make a trip in a box, and wrapping it up etc. The piano lamp will sell, much more your style too, easier to deal with. Thanks Karen!

Coconut lamp more like Crazy Lamp Lady style
I LOVE it......the piece was made in 1971,so 51 years old and you say "not especially old"🤣🤣. Umm I think its old. Almost as old as me in my 60's LOL
I think the crazy lamp lady another reseller also goes to this goodwill. Be fun if you met each other!
I liked the MCM style lamp. You don't necessarily have to sell it with the shade.
Coconut starfish….ugh…good you left it!

OH!I wanted to see that Victorian plant stand
I was at Roots last week! P.s. I would have picked up that tiki lamp!
Pottery is my favorite form of art, before glass. I like the small pot you picked up.
Hi Karen, re the pickle crock: I dont know anything about Bob's Pottery, but Lang and Wise manufactures for Colonial Williamsburg.

Not “Wailing Wall”, Western Wall is actually the correct term.
